1 Ensure mains supply is switched off before commencing installation.
2.Remove the front diffuser from the body by removing the 2 fixing screws.
3.Release the metal gear tray by unscrewing the screw and easing the plastic clips away from the
metal tray, lift the metal tray away from the base.
4.Knock out the intended cable entry hole suitable for your installation;Fit cable gland(if
weatherproofing necessary)
5. Mark appropriate fixing points on wall or ceiling; check that fixings will not impinge on concealed
cables of pipes before drilling holes.
6. Fix luminaire to the wall/ceiling using suitable screws.
7. Write installation date on battery and connect battery
8. Connect wires from unswitched supply to terminals on gear tray, brown to L,Blue to N and
green/yellow to earth (Non Maintained)；In the maintained emergency unit: for lamp always on ,
link terminal “L1” to terminal “L”. Lamp controlled by switch connect switched live wire to terminal
L1 and permanent live to L
Note: if “L1” terminal not connected, fitting works as non-maintained.
9. Reassemble gear tray, the tube and the diffuser.
10. Switch on suppy: the green led should come on indicating conrrect battery charge has
started. In the non-maintained unit, the lamp only lights if the mains supply fails; In the
maintained unit,the lamp will light(if switched live on),when the mains supply fails,battery
will operate lamp emergency mode.

Information for the Product user

The emergency lighting must be inspected and tested regularly in accordance with local
codes of practice.Note: in order to comply with the standard all emergency lighting should
be fully charged within 24 hours
The minimum recommended test schedule is as follows:
After installation, allow 24 hours to ensure full battery charge and then interrupt the
supply; check after 3 hours that tube is still lighting.
1. Daily check that charge indicator led is working
2. Monthly, interrupt mains for a short period and check tubes light, this is possible by
pressing and holding down the test switch
3. Six-monthly, check 1 hour duration
4.At the end of year 3 and subsequently every year, check 3 hour duration: batteries
must be replaced when they can no longer support 3 hour operation.
5. Complete record sheet on installation and retain in maintainance file.
6. Update file with ongoing test records for inspection by fire officer or
other duly authorised person
