The ThinkPad®USB Portable Secure Hard Drive
is an innovative way to secure your valuable data in
case of theft or loss. Optimised for safeguarding
essential data while on-the-go, the ThinkPad USB
Portable Secure Hard Drive offers high-level 128-bit
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) security within
a lightweight, self-powered, easy-to-use design. This
option is also compatible with Rescue and Recovery
on ThinkPad and ThinkCentre systems.
The Secure Hard Drive has three working modes:
Standby Mode, User Mode, Admin Mode. An LED
status indicator shows the current mode. The drive
automatically goes into Standby Mode, when attached
to your computer - the Secure Hard Drive is locked.
To switch to User Mode enter the User Password. The
drive will be recognized by the operating system and
data accessible. By entering admin password you
switch to Admin Mode, where you can manage admin
and user passwords.
