Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4 ermöglicht den Austausch eines Sicherheits-
Sensors der Baureihe RS4 gegen einen Sicherheits-Sensor RSL 410 bzw. RSL
420 ohne Änderung der Verdrahtung.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung beachten!
Der Schutz von Betriebspersonal und Gerät ist nicht gewährleistet,

Befähigte Personen
Anschluss, Montage, Inbetriebnahme und Einstellung des Geräts dürfen nur durch
befähigte Personen durchgeführt werden.
Voraussetzungen für befähigte Personen:
– Sie verfügen über eine geeignete technische Ausbildung.
– Sie kennen die Regeln und Vorschriften zu Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitssicher-
heit.
– Sie kennen die Original-Betriebsanleitung des Geräts.
– Sie wurden vom Verantwortlichen in die Montage und Bedienung des Geräts
eingewiesen.
Elektrofachkräfte
Elektrische Arbeiten dürfen nur von Elektrofachkräften durchgeführt werden.
Elektrofachkräfte sind aufgrund ihrer fachlichen Ausbildung, Kenntnisse und Er-
fahrungen sowie Kenntnis der einschlägigen Normen und Bestimmungen in der
Lage, Arbeiten an elektrischen Anlagen auszuführen und mögliche Gefahren
selbstständig zu erkennen.
In Deutschland müssen Elektrofachkräfte die Bestimmungen der Unfallverhü-
tungsvorschrift BGV A3 erfüllen (z.B. Elektroinstallateur-Meister). In anderen Län-
dern gelten entsprechende Vorschriften, die zu beachten sind.
Haftungsauschluss
Die LeuzeelectronicGmbH+Co.KG haftet nicht in folgenden Fällen:
– Das Gerät wird nicht bestimmungsgemäß verwendet.
– Vernünftigerweise vorhersehbare Fehlanwendungen werden nicht berück-
sichtigt.
– Montage und elektrischer Anschluss werden nicht sachkundig durchgeführt.
– Veränderungen (z.B. bauliche) am Gerät werden vorgenommen.
Übersicht
Mit der Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4 können Sie einen Sicherheits-Sensor der
Baureihe RS4 gegen einen Sicherheits-Sensor RSL 410 bzw. RSL 420 austau-
schen, ohne dass Sie die Verdrahtung der Anwendung ändern müssen. Die An-
schlusseinheit verfügt über einen RS4-kompatiblen SUB-D 15-Stecker.
Funktionen
Die Funktionen des RS4 werden durch Funktionen des RSL410/RSL420 abge-
bildet. Beachten Sie, dass die Funktionen des RSL410/RSL420 ggf. anders als
beim RS4 definiert sind, z. B. das Zeitverhalten.
Wenn der RSL410/RSL420 die Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4 erkennt, wird die
RS4-kompatible Codierung für die Feldpaarauswahl verwendet. Beispiel: Die
Feldpaare 1 … 8 des RS4 werden als Feldpaare A1.1 … A1.8 des RSL410/
RSL420 codiert.
Die Funktionalität des RSL410/RSL420 ist eingeschränkt durch die reduzierte
Anzahl der Schaltein-/ausgänge der Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4. Folgende
Funktionen des RSL410/RSL420 stehen nicht zur Verfügung:
– EDM
– Zweite Schutzfunktion

– Umschaltfreigabe
– Umschaltüberwachung
– Not-Halt/OSSD-Verkettung
– Umschalten der Konfigurationsbänke
– Mehr als acht Schutzfelder
Folgende Funktionen des RS4 stehen bei Verwendung des RSL410/RSL420 mit
der Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4 nicht zur Verfügung:
– Motion
– RS 232 Konfigurationsschnittstelle (RSL410/RSL420: Kommunikation über
Ethernet und Bluetooth)
Konfiguration
HINWEIS
Konfiguration nur für RSL410/RSL420 mit Anschlusseinheit CU411-
RS4 verwenden!
Konfigurationen für RSL410/RSL420 mit Anschlusseinheit CU411-
RS4 dürfen nicht für Scannereinheiten mit anderen Anschlusseinheiten
verwendet werden.
ÄVerwenden Sie Konfigurationen für RSL410/RSL420 mit An-
schlusseinheit CU411-RS4 ausschließlich für Scannereinheiten
mit Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4.
Die Konfiguration des RSL410/RSL420 erfolgt für die jeweilige Scannereinheit
unabhängig von der Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4.
– Die Konfigurations- und Diagnosesoftware Sensor Studio überwacht keine
Konfigurationseinschränkungen, die durch die Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4
bedingt sind.
– Konfigurierte Funktionen, bei denen die Einschränkungen nicht beachtet
werden, die durch die Anschlusseinheit CU411-RS4 bedingt sind, stehen zur
Laufzeit nicht zur Verfügung. Dadurch wird das Einschalten der OSSDs ver-
hindert oder es werden Fehlermeldungen ausgegeben.
HINWEIS
Funktion des Sicherheits-Sensors vor Inbetriebnahme prüfen!
Prüfen Sie die Funktion des Sicherheits-Sensors vor der Inbetriebnah-
me (siehe Original-Betriebsanleitung des RSL410/RSL420, Kapitel 11
"Prüfen").
Elektrischer Anschluss
Für die Spannungsversorgung und alle Schaltein-/ausgänge gelten die Daten zur
elektrischen Versorgung des RSL410/RSL420 (siehe Original-Betriebsanleitung
des RSL410/RSL420, Kapitel 15 "Technische Daten").

ÄStellen Sie sicher, dass die Ansteuerspannung der Signaleingän-
ge den Angaben des RSL410/RSL420 entspricht.
ÄStellen Sie sicher, dass die Spannungsversorgung für den
RSL410/RSL420 geeignet ist.

Verlegung von Leitungen!
ÄVerlegen Sie alle Anschluss- und Signalleitungen innerhalb des
elektrischen Einbauraumes oder dauerhaft in Kabelkanälen.
ÄVerlegen Sie die Leitungen so, dass sie gegen äußere Beschädi-
gungen geschützt sind.

This connection unit was developed, manufactured and tested in line with the ap-
plicable safety standards. It corresponds to the state of the art.
Intended use
The CU411-RS4 connection unit makes it possible to exchange a safety sensor
from the RS4 series for a RSL410 or RSL420 safety sensor without changing the
wiring.

Observe intended use!
The protection of personnel and the device cannot be guaranteed if the
device is operated in a manner not complying with its intended use.

Competent persons
Connection, mounting, commissioning and adjustment of the device must only be
carried out by competent persons.

Prerequisites for competent persons:
– They have a suitable technical education.
– They are familiar with the rules and regulations for occupational safety and
safety at work.
– They are familiar with the original operating instructions of the device.
– They have been instructed by the responsible person on the mounting and
operation of the device.
Certified electricians
Electrical work must be carried out by a certified electrician.
Due to their technical training, knowledge and experience as well as their familiar-
ity with relevant standards and regulations, certified electricians are able to per-
form work on electrical systems and independently detect possible dangers.
In Germany, certified electricians must fulfill the requirements of accident-preven-
tion regulations BGV A3 (e.g. electrician foreman). In other countries, there are re-
spective regulations that must be observed.

Overview
You can replace a safety sensor from the RS4 series with a RSL410 or RSL420
safety sensor with the CU411-RS4 connection unit without needing to change the
wiring of the application. The connection unit has a RS4 compatible SUB-D15
connector.
Functions
The functions of the RS4 are reproduced by the functions of the RSL410/
RSL420. Please note that the functions of the RSL410/RSL420 are defined if
necessary unlike the RS4, e.g. the timing.
If the RSL410/RSL420 detects the CU411-RS4 connection unit, the RS4 com-
patible coding is used for the field pair selection. Example: The field pairs 1…8 of
the RS4 are coded as field pairs A1.1…A1.8 of the RSL410/RSL420.
The functionality of the RSL410/RSL420 is restricted by the reduced number of
switching input/output of the CU411-RS4 connection unit. The following RSL410/
RSL420 functions are not available:
– EDM
– Second protective function
– Changeover enable
– Changeover monitoring
– E-Stop/OSSD linkage
– Change the configuration banks
– More than eight protective fields

The following RS4 functions are not available when using the RSL410/RSL
420with the CU411-RS4 connection unit:
– Motion
– RS232 configuration interface (RSL410/RSL420: communication via Ether-
net and Bluetooth)
Configuration
NOTICE
Only use configuration for RSL410/RSL420 with CU411-RS4 connec-
tion unit!
Configurations for RSL410/RSL420 with CU411-RS4 connection unit
may not be used for scanner units with other connection units.
ÄOnly use configurations for RSL410/RSL420 with CU411-RS4
connection unit for scanner units with CU411-RS4 connection unit.
The RSL410/RSL420 is configured for the respective scanner unit independent
of the CU411-RS4 connection unit.
– The Sensor Studio configuration and diagnostics software does not monitor
configuration restrictions which are caused by the CU411-RS4 connection
unit.
– Configured functions, in which attention has not been paid to the restric-
tions , that are caused by the CU411-RS4 connection unit, are not available
for propagation time. Thus, the switching on of the OSSDs is prevented or
error messages are issued.

Electrical connection
The data about electrical supply of the RSL410/RSL420 applies to the voltage
supply and all switching inputs/outputs (see Original operating instructions of the
RSL410/RSL420, chapter15 "Technical data").
NOTICE
ÄMake sure that the control voltage of the signal inputs corresponds
to the information on the RSL410/RSL420.
ÄMake sure that the voltage supply is suitable for the RSL410/
RSL420.
