SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The following safety guidelines are intended to prevent
unforeseen risks or damage from unsafe or incorrect operation of
the appliance.
The guidelines are separated into ‘WARNING’ and ‘CAUTION’ as
described below.
This symbol is displayed to indicate matters and
operations that can cause risk. Read the part with this
symbol carefully and follow the instructions in order to
avoid risk.
WARNING
This indicates that the failure to follow the instructions can
cause serious injury or death.
CAUTION
This indicates that the failure to follow the instructions can
cause the minor injury or damage to the product.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
To reduce the risk of explosion, fire, death, electric shock,
injury or scalding to persons when using this product,
follow basic precautions, including the following:
Children in the Household
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.

Installation
• Do not install the appliance on an uneven or inclined surface.
• Do not install the appliance in an area exposed to direct sunlight
or near heat-generating equipment.
• Do not install the product in a place where combustible gas may
leak or industrial oil or metallic particulates are present.
• Be careful not to let the power plug pressed by the back of the
appliance.
• Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
• When unplugging the power cord, always pull it by the plug.
• Unplug the appliance during thunder or lightning or when not in
use for a long time.
• Do not bend the power cable excessively or place a heavy
object on top of it.
• Do not extend the length of the power cable or alter it.
• Do not use several devices on a multi-socket extension outlet.
• Make the connection securely so that screw in terminals may
not be loosed when pulling cable.
• Take care to ensure that power cable could not be pulled out or
damaged during operation.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.
• Be sure to use the power plug and outlet with an earth terminal.
Operation
• If the appliance is immersed in water, stop using it and contact
the LG Electronics service centre.
• If there is a gas leakage (isobutane, propane, LNG, etc.), do
not touch the product or power plug and ventilate the area
immediately.
• Do not clean the appliance with brushes, cloths or sponges with
rough surfaces or which are made of metallic material.

• If you detect any abnormal noise, odour or smoke, unplug the
product immediately and contact an LG Electronics service
centre.
• Only an authorized repair person from LG Electronics service
centre should disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance.
• Do not use or store fire, combustibles (ether, benzene, alcohol,
drugs, propane, butane, combustible spray, insecticide, air
freshener, cosmetics, etc.) or flammable materials (candles,
lamps, etc.) near the product.
• Do not place the power cord under rugs, carpeting or mats.
• Do not allow animals or pets to chew on the power cord.
• Do not move the appliance when it is in operation.
• Do not impact the appliance.
• Do not insert hands or metal objects into the air inlet or outlet.
• Do not install and use broken parts.
• Do not put flammables into the appliance.
• Do not move or operate the appliance while its cover is open.
• Do not allow children to climb on or play with the appliance.
• Do not place anything (coffee, flower vase or drinks, etc.) on top
of the appliance.
• The fan is not a toy. It should not be played with or placed
where young children can reach it.
Maintenance
• Dispose of the packing materials (vinyl, styrofoam, etc.) to keep
them out of reach of children.
• Be careful not to allow any part of your body to be pinched
when you detach and reattach parts of the appliance.
• You must stop operating the product and unplug the appliance
before you clean the appliance and replace the filter.

CAUTION
To reduce the risk of minor injury to persons, malfunction,
or damage to the product or property when using this
product, follow basic precautions, including the following:
Installation
• Do not tilt the appliance to pull or push it when transporting.
• Do not install the appliance in transportation equipment
(vehicle/vessel etc.).
• Do not place the appliance near a TV or a stereo equipment.
• Do not place the appliance under bright light.
• The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national
wiring regulations.
• Do not place the appliance near curtains.
• Be sure to have two people transport the appliance safely.
• Do not transport the appliance with the panel removed.
Operation
• Do not use the product for removal of toxic gas such as carbon
monoxide.
• Do not use the product for ventilation purposes.
• Do not use the appliance for a long time in a region with
unstable voltage.
• Do not place obstacles around the air inlet or outlet.
• For safe use of the appliance, children or others with reduced
mental capabilities need to be closely monitored by a person
who is responsible for their safety.
• Do not use the product for special purposes such as preserving
plants, precision instrument, artworks, etc.
• Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.

• Do not let the moisture from the humidifier directly touch the
appliance.
• Do not use the appliance while it is not in upright position.
• Do not use the appliance near objects vulnerable to heat.
• Do not use detergents, cosmetics, chemicals, air fresheners, or
disinfectants in the appliance.
• Do not touch any internal parts while the unit is operating or
immediately after operation.
• Use the filter only for its intended purpose.
Maintenance
• Do not clean with strong detergents of solvent types, but use
soft cloth.
• Do not clean the appliance with an alkaline detergent.
• Do not wipe the appliance surface using sulfuric acid,
hydrochloric acid or organic solvent (thinner, kerosene etc.) or
attach a sticker on the appliance.
• Do not allow the water enter inside the appliance.
• Do not wash Allergen collection care filter and Deodorizing care
filter with water.
• Be careful not to damage the prefilter when you use a vacuum
cleaner.

Cautions for using the appliance in a school.
• For safe use of the appliance, students need to be closely
monitored by a person who is responsible for their safety and
education. This person should provide the correct operation
methods and cautions to students before using the appliance.
• Be careful not to allow students to touch the power plug or the
power cord recklessly.
• Be careful not to leave the power cord exposed on the floor
where students pass by frequently to prevent the power cord
from being damaged.
• Do not disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance arbitrarily in
school.
• Do not let students mount/climb on the appliance or cause
impact to the appliance.
• Do not clean or move the appliance while the power is being
supplied to the appliance.
• Do not place the appliance near curtains or desks when it is
used in school.

UNPACKING

Removing Packing
Materials
Unpack the appliance and remove any
packing tape or vinyl before using the
appliance.
1Pull out the appliance from the
packaging and remove the fixing tape
attached on the appliance.
2Hold the top part of the air inlet and
pull it gently to separate it from the
appliance.
3Remove the two allergen collection
care filters and the two deodorizing
care filters then remove the protective
vinyl from each filter.
• The prefilter has no protective vinyl
so you do not need to remove it.
4Install the filter in the appliance.
•Insert the filters so that the deodor-
izing care filter is placed at the inner
side of the appliance and the aller-
gen collection care filter is placed at
the outer side of the appliance.
•Insert the filter with the filter handle
facing the outer side of the appliance.
5Insert the fixing part at the bottom of
the air inlet into the fixing groove at the
bottom of the appliance and close the
air inlet.
CAUTION
•Be sure to remove the filter protective
vinyl before using the product. Failure to
do so may cause product malfunction.
•Pay attention to filter direction when
installing it. Failure to do so may cause
product malfunction and failure.
•Do not touch the earth wire that provides
earth continuity while replacing or cleaning
the filter. Doing so may cause appliance
malfunction.

INSTALLATION
Transporting or Moving the
Appliance
Be sure to have two people transport the
appliance safely.
•Dropping the appliance may cause
personal injury or appliance malfunction.
Transport the appliance in a secured position
for long distance transport.
•Failure to do so may cause appliance
damage due to an impact during
transporting.
Installing the Appliance
Install the appliance on a solid and level
surface.
•If the installation surface is not even,
vibration and noise may occur, and the
appliance may fall, resulting in injury.
It is recommended to install the appliance at
a corner space.
•Doing so circulates air in the installation
space smoothly, ensuring the best air
purification performance.
Do not install the appliance near curtains
which could block the air inlet or outlet.
•Doing so may result in appliance
malfunction or failure.
The performance of the appliance may
vary depending on the service environment
(temperature, humidity, etc.).
•The appliance can provide the guaranteed
performance in an environment with
humidity ranging between 40% and 70%.

Fixing the appliance
Be sure to fix the appliance securely to
prevent it from falling down in preparation
for an unexpected situation.
1. After installing the appliance, drill a hole
on the wall at the top of the appliance
using a 3.5 mm concrete hand drill.
2. Fix the belt to the wall firmly using a screw
from the provided product accessories.

3. Fix the opposite side of the belt to the belt
clamping unit at the top of rear side of the
appliance firmly.
•Before fixing the belt, adjust the belt
length to tighten the belt so that it won't
shake.

CAUTION
•Before installing the appliance, drill a hole
on the wall after checking the position.
•The appliance should be installed and
transported by a professional installation
technician from LG, not arbitrarily by the
customer.

OPERATION

It eliminates fine particles, smog
causing material (SO2, NO2), sick
house syndrome materials (toluene,
formaldehyde) and domestic odour.

•Draws air.
•You can separate the air inlet from
the appliance by pulling its top part.

Prefilter
It primarily minimizes large particles
floating in the air.
Allergen collection care filter
It minimizes PM1.0 and cigarette
smoke from the air.
Deodorizing care filter
It minimizes harmful odour (gas) that
are generated in everyday life such
as bathroom smell, cigarette smoke
(smell) and food smell.
Filter handle
Use it to separate the filter from the
appliance.

CAUTION
•Do not throw the filter or use it for other
purposes.
NOTE
•Keep the windows or doors closed while
using the product. However, if you operate
the product for a long time in a closed
space, carbon dioxide concentration may
rise. So be sure to ventilate the indoor air
regularly.
•Carbon monoxide (CO) is a harmful gas
that is mainly introduced from outside and
cannot be removed with a filter.
•If excessive odour is present in the room,
first ventilate the indoor air to remove the
odour. Then use the air purifier to minimize
the remaining odour.

Control Panel
Start/Stop Button
You can start or stop the operation.
Mode Button
Use it to set the mode.
Speed Button
Use it to adjust the air flow of the air
purifier.
•Wi-Fi Function
– Before appliance registration:
Press and hold the button for
more than 3 seconds to activate
the Wi-Fi registration mode.
– After appliance registration:
Press and hold the button
for more than 3 seconds to
control the appliance using
a smartphone that has it
registered.
– Wi-Fi function off: Press and
hold the Start/Stop button and
the Speed button at the same
time for more than 3 seconds.
Indicator Button
Allows you to check the concentration
of particles in the air by the size of
dust particles.
Off Timer Button
Allows you to use the Off Timer function.
• Pressing and holding it for 3
seconds or more locks or unlocks
the control panel buttons. (Refer
to Locking the Control Panel
Buttons)
Swing Button
Allows you to adjust the wind direction
to up and down.
Swing Button
Allows you to adjust the wind direction
to the left and the right.
•You can adjust the brightness of the
screen by pressing it for 3 seconds
or more. (Refer to Turning off the
Screen)
Receiver for remote controller
signal
If the receiver for remote controller
signal is blocked, the remote
controller may not operate.
Be careful not to block it.

function is used.

Remote controller
Start/Stop Button
You can start or stop the operation.
Speed Button
Use it to adjust the air flow of the air
purifier.
Off Timer Button
Allows you to use the Off Timer
function.
Swing Button
Allows you to adjust the wind direction
to up and down.
Screen On/Off Button
It allows you to adjust the brightness of
the screen.
Mode Button
Use it to set the mode.
Swing Button
Allows you to adjust the wind direction
to the left and the right.
CAUTION
•Do not press a number of buttons
simultaneously. Doing so may cause
the appliance to become inoperable or
malfunction.
•Do not kick or step on the remote
controller. Doing so may cause remote
controller damage.
•Do not use it in a place with wet or moist
conditions. Doing so may cause fire or an
electric shock.
•Do not use it in a place with flames or heat.
Doing so may cause fire or the appliance
deformation.
•If you do not use the remote controller
for a long time, store it after separating
the battery. Failure to do so may cause
the battery fluid to leak, resulting in
malfunction.
NOTE
•Position the transmitter for the remote
controller facing the receiver for the
appliance when using the remote
controller.
•The remote controller should be used
within a seven meter range of the
appliance.
•If the remote controller does not operate
after replacing the battery, contact the
service centre.
•The remote controller may not operate in
a place with strong light such as a three
wave length fluorescent lamp or a neon
sign.
•If you lose the remote controller, you can
purchase a replacement from a near-by
service centre.

Operation starting
Press the Start/Stop button to start the
operation.
NOTE
•When the operation is started for the first
time, the appliance operates in Purify mode.
•The most recently used mode is
memorized if the power supply is cut off
due to a reason such as a power failure.
However, the last mode was Turbo mode,
the appliance operates in Purify mode.
•When the operation begins, the display
of sensor ready ( ) will appear for
approximately 30 seconds.
Using the Mode
•Each time you press the Mode button,
the mode changes in the following order:
Purify→Silent→Smart→Turbo.
Purify Mode
Purifies indoor air at a desired speed.
Smart Mode
Adjusts wind direction and strength
automatically according to the level of overall
air quality.
NOTE
•You can adjust the direction by pressing
the left/right Swing or up/down Swing
button during Smart operation.
•Since the speed is adjusted automatically
according to overall air quality in Smart,
the Speed button is inoperable.
Turbo Mode
The product operates powerfully for 30
minutes to purify indoor air promptly.
NOTE
•The mode changes to the previously mode
after the appliance is operated in Turbo for
30 minutes.
•When the Speed button is pressed, the
mode will change to Purify.
Silent Mode
The appliance operates with the minimum
noise.
NOTE
•The input of the left/right Swing or up/
down Swing buttons is not available
during Silent.
•When the Speed button is pressed, the
mode will change to Purify.

Adjusting the Fan Speed
Adjust the air flow of the air purifier.
Press the Speed button during the operation.
•Each time you press the button, the
speed changes in the following order:
Auto→Low→Mid→High.
Displays speed
When you adjust the speed, the speed will
be displayed on the status display panel. The
speed increases by 2 columns each time
when the level is raised.
[ Example of ‘Mid’ Display for Speed]
NOTE
•When the operation is started for the first
time, Auto is set for the speed. In Auto
mode, the speed is adjusted automatically
according to the contamination level of
indoor air.
•Speed can be adjusted only in Purify
mode.
•When you press the Speed button in Turbo
or Silent mode, the mode will change to
Purify mode.
•The speed adjustment is not available in
Smart.
Adjusting the Wind Direction
Adjusting the Wind Direction to
the Left/Right
Operates the left/right wind controller and
blows air to the left or the right.
Press the Swing button during operation.
Adjusting the Wind Direction
Up/Down
Operates the up/down wind controller and
blows air up or down.
Press the Swing button during operation.
NOTE
•Press the left/right Swing or up/down
Swing button again if you wish to fix the
wind direction to a desired position.
•The left/right wind controller and the up/
down wind controller do not operate during
the operation in Silent.
