MULTIMEDIA FEATURES
VIDEO-ON-DEMAND
The MM535 can stream video up to 15 frames per second.
Accessing Video-on-Demand
1. Press left on the Navigation Key to access the Media Player <Make a Selection> menu, select Channel
Listing (1), then press OK. The handset will initiate a data session, connecting you to the Sprint Multimedia
Channel Listing page.
2. Select the desired content and press OK. You may be prompted to purchase a subscription for the
channel you have selected.
3. The media player will launch and the streaming content will be buffered and then played.
MP3 MUSIC
The ability to play MP3 music requires a miniSDTM card and a card reader to port your music onto the disc,
both sold separately. Gently insert the miniSD card into the top of the handset, contacts facing forward
(toward the front of the handset), until it snaps firmly into place.
Playing MP3 Music
1. From standby mode, press the Right Soft Key for Media. The Media folder will display a list of songs
available on the miniSD card.
2. Select the file you would like to play and press OK.
3. During a song, you may stop, pause, rewind, fast forward or set the song to repeat by using the control
bar at the bottom of the media player screen.
4. Press the volume keys on the side of the handset to adjust the volume during a song.
MINISD™ EXTERNAL MEMORY
The MM535 can access additional file types such as: DCIM: jpg, 3g2; Media: mp3, 3gp, 3g2, mp4, aac,
qcp, amr, pmd, mid and mmf stored to the miniSD.
Accessing the miniSD
1. Select Tools (7) from the main menu.
2. Select miniSD Card (1) and press OK.
3. Select dcim (video and pictures) or media (other multimedia formats) and press OK.
4. Highlight the desired file and press OK.
DIGITAL CAMERA/CAMCORDER FEATURES
VIDEO RECORDING
The MM535 can record, store and send 15 second video clips.
Recording a Video Clip
1. Press the OK Key, then select Camcorder (2) and press OK.
2. To activate the video light, press the side Voice Dial/Memo & Flash Key below the volume keys.
3. To start recording, press OK or press the Left Soft Key for Record.
4. To stop recording and save the video, press OK or press the Left Soft Key for Done.
5. Press the Left Soft Key for Next.
6. Select from the following options: Send Video (to another mobile phone or e-mail address), Playback,
Upload to Albums, Assign Caller ID, Assign Wallpaper, Erase, Go to My Videos, Take New Video.
Note: Videos are automatically saved in the Pictures & Videos (1) > My Videos (4) > In Camcorder (1) menu.

Setting Video As Caller ID
1. From the Pictures & Video (1) menu, select My Videos (4) then press OK.
2. Select In Camcorder (1) then press OK.
3. Use the Navigation Key to highlight the desired video and press OK. (A red check mark will appear)
4. Press the Right Soft Key for Options and select Assign Caller Id (4).
5. Select New Entry or Existing Entry and press OK.
6. For a New Entry, enter the information and press the Left Soft Key for Save. For an Existing Entry,
highlight the desired contact and press OK.
STILL PHOTOGRAPHY
Taking a Picture
1. Press and hold the side Camera Key to activate the viewfinder.
2. Press right on the Navigation Key to zoom in and left to zoom out. You can digitally zoom up to 1x in
best resolution and 20x in high, medium and low.
3. To activate the flash, press the side Voice Dial/Memo & Flash Key below the volume keys.
4. To take a picture, press the side Camera Key again, or press the Left Soft Key for Capture.
5. Press the Left Soft Key for Next.
6. Select from the following options: Send Picture (to another mobile phone or e-mail address), Upload to
Albums, Assign Picture ID, Assign Wallpaper, Add Voice Caption, Erase, Go to My Pictures, Take New Picture.
Note: Pictures are automatically saved in the Pictures & Videos (1) > My Pictures (3) > In Camera (1)
menu. Use the mirror on the back of the handset for self-portraits.
Setting A Picture As Caller ID
1. From the Pictures & Video (1) menu, select My Pictures (3) and press OK.
2. Select In Camera (1) and press OK.
3. Use the Navigation Key to highlight the desired picture and press OK. (A red check mark will appear)
4. Press the Right Soft Key for Options and select Assign Picture Id (3).
5. Select New Entry or Existing Entry and press OK.
6. For a New Entry, enter the information and press the Left Soft Key for Save. For an Existing Entry,
highlight the desired contact and press OK.
Deleting A Picture
1. From the Pictures & Video (1) menu, select My Pictures (3) and press OK.
2. Select In Camera (1) and press OK.
3. Use the Navigation Keys to highlight the desired picture and press OK. (A red check mark will appear)
4. Press the Right Soft Key for Options.
5. Scroll to Erase (8) and press OK.
6. Select Erase Selection or Erase All and press OK.
7. Select Erase (1) or Erase All (1) and press OK.
Changing the Resolution
1. Press and hold the side Camera Key to activate the viewfinder.
2. Press the Right Soft Key for Options.
3. Select Settings (5) and press OK.
4. Select Resolution and press OK.
5. Select Best (1280 x 960), Hi (640 x 480), Med (320 x 240) or Lo (160 x 120) and press OK.

Customizing Shutter Sounds
1. Press and hold the side Camera Key to activate the viewfinder.
2. Press the Right Soft Key for Options.
3. Select Settings (5) and press OK.
4. Select Shutter Sound and press OK.
5. Select from the five available shutter sound options and press OK.

TEXT MESSAGING
Sending a Text Message
1. Press up on the Navigation Key to access the Messaging menu, select Send Message (1),
then press OK.
2. Select Text Message (1) and press OK.
3. Enter the ten-digit telephone number, select a name from your contact or recent list or
enter an e-mail address into the appropriate field and press OK.
4. Enter additional addresses (up to 10 total per message).
5. Press the Left Soft Key for Next.
6. Enter a message up to 160 characters and press OK.
7. Press the Left Soft Key for Send.
DOWNLOADING SPRINT PCS VISIONSM CONTENT
The MM535 can store up to 20 megabytes of downloaded content from PCS Vision.
Downloading New Content from PCS Vision (Games, Ringers, Screen Savers, Applications)
1. Press down on the Navigation Key to access the Downloads menu, then select the desired
content classification (Games, Ringers, Screen Savers or Applications) and press OK.
2. Select Get New and press OK to initiate a web session.
3. Select the desired content and follow PCS Vision prompts to complete the purchase and
download (extra fees may apply on some services).
ACCESSING THE WEB
The MM535 features PCS Vision and Openwave 6.2.3.2.L.1.100 browser to access web and
PCS Vision content.
1. Select Web (3) from the main menu.
2. Press the END Key to exit or end your browsing session.

CHANGING THE SOUND SETTINGS
Selecting a Ringer
1. From the Settings (9) menu, select Sounds (1) and press OK.
2. Select Ringers (1) and press OK.
3. Select Caller ID (1), No Caller ID (2) or Roaming (3) and press OK.
4. Choose from the list of 30 available default ringers and press OK, or press the Right Soft
Key for More.
Note: The MM535 supports multimedia ringtones.

Adjusting Volume Settings
Ringer Volume: While in standby mode, press the side volume keys to adjust the ringer volume.
Earpiece Volume: During a conversation, press the side volume keys to adjust the earpiece volume.
Silent Mode: In standby mode, press and hold the lower volume key on the side to mute all sounds.
CHANGING THE DISPLAY SETTINGS
Changing the Wallpaper Image
1. From the Settings (9) menu, select Display (2) and press OK.
2. Select Wallpaper (3) and press OK.
3. Select from the list of 6 default images, or press right on the Navigation Key to scroll
through Download, In Camera and In Camcorder images.
4. Press OK to preview the wallpaper or picture, and press OK again to save.
Changing the Theme Colors
1. From the Settings (9) menu, select Display (2) and press OK.
2. Select Theme Colors (6) and press OK.
3. Select from the list of four available theme skins and press OK.
PERSONAL INFORMATION TOOLS
Scheduling an Event
1. From the Tools (7) menu, select Schedule (2) and press OK.
2. Highlight the event date using your Navigation Key and press the Left Soft Key for Add.
3. Set the appropriate start and end times, content, recurrence (if any), alarm and ringer by
scrolling to the corresponding field, entering the desired information, and pressing OK.
4. Press the Left Soft Key for Save.
Scheduling an Alarm
1. From the Tools (7) menu, select Alarm Clock (3) and press OK.
2. Select Alarm 1 (1) , Alarm 2 (2), Alarm 3 (3) or Quick Alarm (4) and press OK.
3. Set the appropriate time, recurrence (if any) and ringer by scrolling to the corresponding
field and entering the desired information.
4. Press the Left Soft Key for Save.
Recording a Voice Memo
Record up to 30 voice memos (3 minutes total). Voice memos may also be assigned as caller ID ringers.
1. From standby mode or during a call, press and hold the side Voice Dial/Memo & Flash Key.
During a call, only the other party will be recorded.
2. Start recording at the tone. To stop recording, press the Left Soft Key for Done.
Note: Recorded voice memos can be found in the Tools (7) > Voice Memo (4) menu.
Setting a Voice Memo as Caller ID
1. From the Contacts (6) menu, select Find Entry (1) and press OK.
2. Use the Navigation Key to highlight the desired contact and press OK.
3. Press the Left Soft Key for Edit, scroll to the ringtone field (bell icon) and press OK.
4. Press the Right Soft Key for More, select Voice Memo (3) and press OK.
5. Select the desired voice memo and press OK. Press Done to complete.

PHONE BOOK
The internal phone book is capable of storing up to 500 entries with up to 5 numbers per entry.
Adding a New Phone Book Entry
1. From the Contacts (6) menu, select Add New Entry (2) and press OK.
2. Enter the name and number into the appropriate fields and press OK.
3. Select a label (Mobile, Home, Office, Pager, Fax or None) and press OK.
4. Select the Left Soft Key for Done.
5. To set the speed dial or voice dial, highlight the number and press the Right Soft Key for
Options.
Select Set Speed Dial and press OK. Enter the speed dial number (2–99) and press OK.
Select Set Voice Dial and press OK. Select OK to record voice dial. Up to 30 three-second
voice dials may be recorded.
Note: To initiate voice-activated dialing, press and release the side Voice Dial/Memo & Flash Key.
OTHER NOTABLE SETTINGS
Upgrading Software
Software upgrades for your handset may periodically be available. Use this feature to check for
upgrade availability and to download and install the update package. Service and activation are
required for this service.
1. From the Settings (9) menu, scroll to Setup/Others (9) and press OK.
2. Select Update Phone SW (8) and press OK.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Locking the Handset
This helps protect the phone from unauthorized use. Once the phone is locked, the phone
is restricted from making calls until the lock code is entered. However, you are able to make
emergency calls and calls to up to ten stored security phone numbers, as well as receive any
incoming calls while in the locked mode.
1. From the Settings (9) menu, select Security (7) and press OK.
2. Enter your lock code (commonly the last four digits of your mobile phone number).
3. Choose Lock Phone (1), select Lock Now or Lock On Power Up, and press OK. The Lock
On Power Up function will lock the handset when the phone is power cycled.
Activating Speakerphone
1. During a call, press the Left Soft Key for Spk On for hands-free conversation.
2. Press the Left Soft Key for Spk Off to return to normal conversation.
Warning! Due to higher volume levels, don’t place the phone near your ear while the
speakerphone is enabled.
Programming Navigation Key Shortcuts
1. From the Settings (9) menu, scroll to Setup/Others (9) and press OK.
2. Select Shortcuts (1) and press OK. Press OK again after reading the instructions on
the screen.
3. Choose Left Navigation Key (1), Right Navigation Key (2), Up Navigation Key (3) or
Down Navigation Key (4) and press OK.
4. Select the desired function from the list provided and press OK.
Note: Pressing a direction on the Navigation Key while in standby mode will now quickly access
the set function(s).
