Using your CarSounds shark aquarium car’s ElectroCouplers in the
non-Command environment
To use your CarSounds shark aquarium
car’s ElectroCouplers in the non-
Command environment, you must first cou-
ple a piece of rolling stock equipped with
Lionel magnetic couplers directly to your
CarSounds shark aquarium. The magnetic
coupler on the rolling stock will then react
to the magnetic field generated by a Lionel
remote-control track section (available sep-
arately). Place your rolling stock’s coupler
“trigger disc” over the central coil of a
remote-control track section and press
uncouple on the controller. The magnetic
field pulls the disc downward, and the cou-
pler opens.
Your CarSound shark aquarium
ElectroCouplers will NOT open
manually or by using a remote-
control track section

TrainMaster Command environment
Your Lionel CarSounds shark aquari-
um car is equipped with front and
rear Electrocouplers that respond to the
COUPLER F (front) and COUPLER R
(rear) button on your CAB-1 remote
when operated in the Trainmaster
Command environment. Simply press
either button on your CAB-1 remote, and
that coupler opens.
Your CarSounds shark
aquarium ElectroCouplers are
NOT designed to be opened manually.
Speed Control using your shark aquarium car’s Odyssey System
To establish a speed control setting for your
sharks, use the following steps.
1. Set the track voltage to the desired speed.
2. Hold the Horn/Whistle button down, and
increase the voltage by 3 volts mini-
mum. (The song will play, and you will
see the sharks momentarily speed up,
then return to your set speed.)
3. Release the Horn/Whistle button. The
sharks will stay at this speed unless volt-
age is turned below the “set” level.
Speed control settings are retained
indefinitely until you deactivate this
feature.
4. To deactivate speed control, reduce the
voltage by 3 volts minimum while hold-
ing the Horn/Whistle button. (You may
need to increase the track voltage before
performing this step if you are operating
below 10 volts.)
