automatically.PresstheON/OFFbuttontoONandremovetheoldlitterbox.

SensorCovers
Thetwosensorslocatedontheinteriorsidepanelsareprotectedbysensorcovers
thatneedtobekeptdustfree.Afterchangingoraddinglitter,wipeeachsensor
withasoft,dryclothtoremovedust.
LitterTray
Useonlyhardclumpinglitter.Lowqualityornon-clumplinglitterwillimpair
performanceandmaydamageyourunit.
Toemptyandcleanlittertray:
• Checktomakesurerakeisinhomeposition.
• PresstheON/OFFbuttontoturnunitOFF.
Important:WhentheOn/OffbuttonisintheOffpositionitonlydisablesthe
rakefunction.
• Unplugunitandremovebatteriestopreventaccidentalactivationoftheunit.
• Removethewastereceptacle.
• Removetherake.
• Removethetophousing.
• Disposeoftheusedlitter.Toensureproperdisposaloflitter,follow
manufacturer'sinstructionsonlitterpackage.Wipethelittertraywithadamp
cloth.Iffurthercleaningisnecessary,thelittertraycanbefullyimmersedin
waterandwashedwithamilddetergent.
Important:Donotsoakorimmersethetophousinginwater.Tocleanwipewith
dampcloth.Drytheunitcompletelybeforereassembling.
• Beforereassembling,spraylittertraysurfacewithnonstickcookingspray
orsiliconespray,andwipewithasoft,drycloth.Thiswillhelptoprevent
wasteclumpsfromadheringtothesurfaceofthetray.
RemovingDisposableWasteReceptacle
Werecommendavoidingcontactwithwastematerial.Wearrubberorlatex
gloveswhenhandlinguseddisposablewastereceptacle.

Justasyouralarmclockcontinuestorunonbatteriesifthereisapowerfailure,
theLitterMaid®litterboxwillcontinuetooperateaslongasbatteriesare
installed.Changethebatteriesperiodically.
