PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
BEFORE USING
The following safety precautions should always be
followed, to reduce the risk of electric shock, personal
injury or fire. It is important to read all instructions
carefully before using the product even if you are familiar
with this type of product. Keep the manual in a safe place
for future reference or new users.
NOTE: The appliance may emit an unusual odour on
first use, this is normal and is a result of lubricants
used in manufacturing in contact with heated parts.
Use in a well ventilated area, the odour will generally
clear after several minutes of use.

SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! - to reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock or injury to persons or property:
Remove and safely discard any packaging material
and promotional labels before using the product for
the first time.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord
or plug, should the appliance malfunction, or if it
has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return appliance to an authorized service centre
for examination or repair.
Always ensure the appliance is switched OFF, prior
to plugging into the power outlet.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by a qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put
the unit into water or any other liquid. To disconnect,
use the appliance switch to turn off, remove the
plug from power outlet by grasping and pulling on
the plug’s plastic head instead of pulling the cord.
This appliance must not come in contact with water
or any other liquid.
Always switch off your appliance at the power outlet
and remove plug when it’s not in use.
This unit should not be operated with wet or damp
hands.
Do not use the appliance for any other purpose
other than its intended use.

Do not store or leave this appliance in a position
where it might fall into tubs, basins, baths or
vessels which contain water or electrically
conductive liquids, even when the appliance is
turned off.
When the appliance is used in bathroom, unplug it
after use as the proximity of water could cause
possible risk on safety, even when the unit is
switched off.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
This appliance should be stored in a place out of
reach of small children.
WARNING: Do not use this appliance near
water. Do not use this appliance near
bathtubs, showers, basins, or other vessels
containing water.
Do not cover or put the appliance on or near any
heat sensitive or flammable materials such as
plastic and always allow it to cool down completely
before storing it.
Do not use the appliance on artificial hair.

Do not use it outdoors or operate it in a place where
aerosol (spray) products are being used or where
oxygen is being administered.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a bench,
table or touch hot surfaces.
After use, do not wrap the cord around the
appliance as this may cause the cord to be

For additional protection, the installation of a
residual current device (RCD) with a rated
operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable
in the electrical current supplying system of the
bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.
Before cleaning, always turn the appliance off. First,
switch off the power outlet. Then unplug it from the
power outlet. Allow the appliance to completely cool
down before cleaning.
Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas
flame, electric elements or on a heated oven.
Do not place it on top of any other electric
appliances.
Do not leave the appliance unattended when it’s
plugged in or switched on.
Prevent the hot surfaces of the appliance from
coming into direct contact with your skin, in
particular the eyes, hands, ears, face and neck.
This appliance is not intended for commercial use
but for domestic purpose.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: This is a high heat appliance. Care must
be taken to prevent the hot surfaces of the appliance
from coming into direct contact with your skin, in
particular the eyes, hands, ears, face and neck.
IMPORTANT: Please consult your hairdresser on
using heated appliances if your hair has been heavily
bleached,chemically treated or if you have any
concerns about the condition of your hair.
NOTE: After each use, turn off the appliance and
unplug it from the power outlet. Always allow time for
the unit to cool down completely before storing it
away.
It is recommended that hair is washed prior to
straightening and be 80% dry.
Connect the plug to an AS/NZS power supply socket
outlet and switch on.
Switch the hair straightener on by pushing the
“ON/OFF” button on, the hair straightener plates will
heat up.
Comb your hair and hold a section that is not wider
than 5 cm for straightening.
Work with the underneath layers first. Place it
between the hair straightener plates and press the
handles firmly together.
Slide the hair straightener down the length of the hair
in a single motion (Not more than 5 seconds) from
root to end, without stopping to prevent overheating.

To create flicks, turn the straightener 180 degrees
(half-circle) inwards or outwards, when it reaches the
end of the hair. Hold the straightener in that position
for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release it. (DO NOT
TOUCH THE SCALP WITH THE HEATING PLATES)
Repeat the above steps until you achieve the desired
effect. It may be necessary to repeat the process on
certain areas, depending on the texture of your hair.
Some practice is necessary when learning to use a
hair straightener.
Allow your hair to cool down. Do not comb or brush it
before it has cooled down, as this would ruin the
hairstyle you have just created.
Switch off using the ON/OFF Button to turn off the
appliance and remove mains plug from the supply.
STYLING WITH THE FLOATING CERAMIC COATED
PLATES
Theplates of your new hair straightener are
designed with a little give, to “float” and provide
natural alignment with the hair sectionbeing
straightened. This provides better contact with hair,
eliminating gaps, for straighter results.

CLEANING:
Ensure the mains plug is disconnected from supply.
Clean the straightener body with a damp (well-wrung)
cloth and if required, a very small amount of dish
washing liquid within the water used. Do not let water
or any other liquid to enter the appliance.
Remove any dust or hair from the surface of hinge
area using a soft brush.
Ensure all parts are wiped dry with a soft clean dry
cloth.
Do not use any harsh detergents, abrasives, solvents
or cleaners. Never immerse in water to clean.
STORAGE
Ensure the appliance is completely cool and dry.
Do not wrap the cord around the appliance, as this will
cause damage.
Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.

This is normal if you have
styling products in your
hair. Never use a product
that is not suitable for use
with high temperature
appliances. Do not use
gel or wax. Use only
styling products
specifically designed for
this purpose.
The results are not as
expected.

hair on the plates during
styling.

of hair do not exceed 50
mm of width and 5 mm of
thickness.
You have styling products
in your hair (for example
mousse, spray or gel).

At the end of its working life, do not throw this product
out with your household rubbish. Electrical and
electronic products contain substances that can have
a detrimental effect on the environment and human
health if disposed of inappropriately. Observe any
local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical
consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately for
recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on
recycling facilities in your area.
Please keep the original packaging carton and
materials in a safe place. It will help to prevent any
damage if the product needs to be transported in the
future. In the event it is to be disposed of, please
recycle all packaging material where possible.
