We recommend that you spend some time reading this instruction manual in order that
you fully understand all the operational features it offers. You will also find some hints and
tips to help you resolve any issues.
Read all the safety instructions carefully before use and keep this instruction manual for

Power Source
Mains Power
Connect the mains cable (included) to the AC Socket and then the mains socket.
Battery Power
Insert 4 x C type (UM-2/R14) batteries (not included) correctly
by following the polarity (+ or –) indications in the battery
compartment.

Knowing when to Replace the Batteries
• When the batteries become weak, the sound becomes weak and distorted.
• When the batteries are completely exhausted, the unit will turn off.
The alarm function can only be activated in AC power operation.

Connections
Connecting to the Earphones Socket
1. Connect earphones (3.5mm stereo mini plug) to the earphones socket.
2. Adjust the volume control to obtain the desired volume level.
3. When the earphones are connected, the speakers will automatically mute.
Handling the Batteries
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which could
cause personal injury or damage to property.
• Install the batteries correctly by following the polarity (+ and –) indications in the battery
compartment.
• Use only the types of the batteries which are indicated in this manual.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix different types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of the used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of them in accordance with
local regulations.
• If you are not going to use the unit for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid damage
from battery leakage and corrosion.
• If the batteries are replaced while the power is on, the unit may revert to the factory setting.
• Due to the short battery life span of some alkaline batteries. It is recommended to use
rechargeable batteries. You will need to purchase a charger to charge the rechargeable
batteries. This saves cost and is more environmentally friendly.

Long-term exposure to loud music may cause hearing damage. It
is best to avoid extreme volume when using earphones, especially
for extended periods.
Always switch the unit off after use to conserve the battery life.

Basic Operation
Powering ON/OFF
When you first connect the unit to the mains socket. The unit will be in STANDBY mode.
• Press the STANDBY button to switch the unit on.
• Press the STANDBY button again to switch the unit off.
• Disconnect the mains cable from the mains socket if you want to switch the unit off
completely.
Selecting Modes
Press the DAB/FM button repeatedly to switch between modes (DAB/FM).
Adjusting the Volume
Press the VOLUME +/– buttons to adjust the volume.
Setting the Time
When you first turn on your radio it will automatically set the time by searching out the DAB
signal. It will continue to search for the clock whilst in DAB mode until it has managed to set the
time. If after 10 minutes the clock has not automatically set itself try repositioning the radio to
get a better reception.
Alarm Clock and the Wake-up Mode Settings
This unit incorporates an Alarm function. You can have an alarm wake-up time and wake-up
mode setting to wake you with a buzzer tone, or your favourite radio station.
Setting the alarm clock in STANDBY mode or ON mode.
1. Press the ALARM/SNOOZE button and hold it for a few seconds.
The display will shows “Alarm Setting Time” and the hour digits
will flash.
2. Press the buttons to adjust the hour digits, and then press the
SELECT button to confirm.
3. The minute digits will flash. Press the buttons to adjust the
minute digits, and then press the SELECT button to confirm.
4. The wake-up mode settings will flash on the display. Adjust DAB
& FM Preset / Buzzer Tones / Alarm Wake-up Volume Level by
pressing the buttons. Press the SELECT button to confirm.

• Buzzer volume level is fixed.
• Make sure the DAB/FM preset station is stored before setting
for wake-up mode.
