6200 - Intelligent Charging Device
Loxit’s Intelligent Charging Device is designed to power manage the charging of devices
such as tablets or laptop computers and provide charge status indication for the
devices.
There are 2 methods of operation for the Intelligent Charging Device.
A. Used in conjunction with USB Sync & Charge or Charge Only Devices.
B. Used in conjunction with transformers and power strips. Miss out steps 2 & 3.
1. Checks
Before commencing, ensure that all devices are firmly connected to the either the USB
charge device via USB cables, or power supplies in the case of devices charging using
transformers.
Press the Reset button on the RCD at the mains plug socket if applicable.
The circular switch will illuminate solid red notifying it is in on and in Standby Mode.
2. When Used with Sync & Charge Devices.
Switch the power on to the Sync/Charge device.
3. Syncing
In the case of ChargeConnect 8 or 16, connect the USB A to B cable to the host
computer.
In the case of the PowerPad 15, connect the USB A to A cable to the host computer
where the devices are registered on iTunes or other MDM software.
Press the circular switch which is illuminated solid red. The button will begin flashing
red and in the case of iTunes, it will open automatically and list the devices registered to
the account.
Sync will begin automatically if this iTunes option is selected.
Once Sync has completed, eject the devices through iTunes and disconnect the USB
cable.
4. Commence Charging
If Sync has already completed, simply remove the USB cable and charging will
commence. This will be indicated on each device displaying the charging icon.
If the button has not already been pressed to commence Sync, press the button now
and it will flash red. Charging has now started. This will continue to flash until the
charging is either interrupted or completed.

5. Charging Completed
Once the iPads/Laptops are fully charged, the power will automatically be switched off
to the iPads/Laptops and the button will illuminate in a flashing blue, indicating the
laptops are charged.
6. Interrupt Charging
Should the trolley be required to be taken out of charge mode before charging is
completed (for example to use a partially charged iPad/Laptops), hold down the button
for 5 seconds until the colour returns to solid red. This indicates that the charging circuit
is now in standby mode.
7. Resume Charging
To resume charging, press the red button and it will flash red, indicating that the
iPads/Laptops are charging once more.
8. Reset After Laptops Are Fully Charged
To start charging after a full charge cycle has been completed, switch off the power at
the rocker switch and switch on again to reset the process.
NOTE:
As a safety feature, the timer is set to automatically turn off the charging after 12 hours
or when the iPads/Laptops are fully charged, whichever is soonest.
When syncing iPads, do not forget to eject iPads via iTunes before disconnecting
the USB cable.

WARNING
Do not open the casing of the Sync/Intelligent Charge Device. It contains live
electrical elements.
Operating temperature 5 - 45 degrees Celsius.
Adequate ventilation must be provided to allow intake and output of air flow.
Do not cover ventilation holes.
Do not touch USB ports directly.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Input: 250 VAC / 10A / 50Hz.
Max operating temperature: 40 degrees Celsius.
Disconnect Equipment from mains power before performing any trouble shooting
checks.
Do not open the casing of the Intelligent Charge Device. It contains live electrical
elements.
The mains electrical connectors used are IEC (similar to kettle or PC power
cables) and are safe for checking possible loose connections if required.
If the earth strap is damaged or disconnected, immediately, safely disconnect the
mains power supply at the wall and do not use the equipment. Contact Loxit for
advice.

Trouble Shooting
If the Intelligent Charge Button is not illuminated, ensure the power is connected to the
equipment and if supplied with an RCD plug, ensure the reset button has been pressed.
If the Intelligent Charge Button is still not illuminated it may be possible a cable has
become disconnected. To ensure all electrical connections are firmly connected, check
the mains power lead to the electrical distribution box and power lead from the electrical
distribution box to the Intelligent Charge Case.
The Intelligent Charge Button connects into the Intelligent Charge Case via telephone
flex, ensure this is firmly connected.
To check power is reaching the power supplies, check that the LED on the charging
strip is illuminated.
If there are any visible signs of damage to electrical cables, or electrical arcing can be
heard, safely disconnect from mains power, do not use and clearly label the equipment
accordingly.
