notturnitonandoff.Anypowertoolthat
cannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchis
dangerousandmustberepaired.
c)Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersource
and/orthebatterypackfromthepowertool

placewoodacrossthelogsplitterandleaveitin
thatpositionforsplitting;itmaybedangerous
andmayseriouslydamagethemachine.
j)Neverattempttocuttwologsatonce,onemay
flyupandhityou.
k)Donotattempttoloadtheloginthelog
splitterwhiletheramisinmotion,youcouldget
trappedandinjured.
l)Keepyourhandswellawayfromanysplitsand
crackswhichopeninthelog;thesemayclose
suddenlyandcrushoramputateyourfingers.
j)Neverforcethelogsplitterformorethan5
secondskeepingthecylinderunderpressurein
theattempttosplitexcessivelyhardwood.After
thistimeinterval,theoilunderpressureis
overheatedandthemachinecouldbedamaged.It
isbettertostopandrotatethelogby90degrees
toseewhetheritcanbesplitinadifferent
position.Inanycase,ifyouarenotabletosplitthe
log,thismeansthatitshardnessexceedsthe
capacityofthemachineandthusthatlogshould
bediscardedsoasnottodamagethelogsplitter.
k)Donotforcethebladebypushingthelogon
theupperpart,asthiscancausethebladeto
breakordamagethebodyofthemachine.
Alwayssetthelogontheguides.
l)Neverleavethemachineunattendedwhileitis
running.Ifyouleavethemachine,evenforashort
time,removethepowersupplyoranypossible
causeofaccidentalstart‐up.

Removeallpackagingmaterialfromthemachine
andtheaccessoriesprovided.

Beforefurtheruseofthemachine,checkthatall

OPERATION
Operation
Beforeoperationofthelogsplitter,thebleed
screw(3)willneedtobeloosenedbyacoupleof
turns,untilaircangoinandoutoftheoiltank
smoothly.Failuretoloosenthisscrewwillcause
damagetothesealsandeventuallypermanent
damagetothemachine.Thisdamageisnot
coveredunderwarranty.
Airflowthroughthebleedscrew(3)shouldbe
noticeablewhilethelogsplitterisinoperation.
Beforemovingthelogsplitterthisbleedscrew
(3)shouldberetightenedtoavoidoilleaks
whilstmoving.
Alsosetthelogsplitteronaflatevensurfaceto
avoidtopplingofthemachine.
Donotadjustthemaxpressurelimitingscrew.
Themaximumpressurewassetbythe
manufacturer,andisgluedintoposition,witha
plasticcoveron,toensurethatthelogsplitter
worksunderpressurenogreaterthanislisted
inthespecifications.
–Thislogsplitterisequippedwitha“ZHB”
controlsystemthatrequiresbothhandsto
operate,thelefthandcontrolthehydrauliclever
whiletherighthandcontrolsthepushbutton
switch
–
TheLogsplitterwillstopifeitherhandisnot
controltheselevers,butwillthenonlyreturntoits
startingpositiononcebothhandshavebeen
released.
Donotcontinuallyapplypressuretoun‐splitting
woodwiththislogsplitterformorethanfive
seconds.Anymoretimecouldpermanently
damagethesplitter.
PlacingaLogontheLogSplitter
–Squaretheendofthelogandremoveany
branchesorshootsthatmayinterferewiththe
operationofthesplitter
–Setthelogontheretainingplatewiththegrain
runninginthedirectionofthecut.
–Makesurethelogisflatandpressedupagainst
thewedge.Makesurethelogwillnottwist,rock
orslipwhilebeingsplit.

–Oncethelogisset,pushswitch(A)withyour
righthandindexfinger.
–Waitafewsecondsforthemotortostartupand
theairtobepressurisedinthepump,thenwith
yourlefthandpullhydrauliccontrollever(B).This
willstartthelogsplitterpushingthelogintothe

–Releasebothcontrols.
–Afterthelogpushermovesbackand
completelystopsatitsstartingposition,inserta
wedgeofwoodunderthejammedlog.
–Startthelogsplittertopushthewedgewood
togocompletelyunderthejammedone.
–Repeataboveprocedurewithsharperslope
wedgewoodsuntilthelogiscompletelyfree.
–Nevertrytoknockthejammedlogoff,trying
thiswilldamagethemachineormaycausean
accident.

Forsafeandproperworking,alwayskeepthe
dustcollectorandventilationslotsclean.

necessary,thishastobedonebyanauthorized
serviceagentinordertoavoidasafetyhazard.
Ifthelogsplittershouldfaildespitethecare
takeninmanufacturingandtestingprocedures,
repairshouldbecarriedoutbyanauthorised

every150hoursofuse.Takefollowingstepsto
replaceit.

–Unscrewoildrainbolt(E)withahexkeyand
removeit.

Turnthelogsplitterontoitssidesothe motoris
overa3litrecapacitycontainerandallowthefluid
todrainoff.
–Turnthelogsplitteronthesupportlegside.
–Refillfreshhydraulicoilatthevolumeasperthe
hydraulicoilcapacityofaparticularmodel
indicatedinthespecificationstable.
–CleanthesurfaceofDipstickontheoildrainbolt
andputitbackintotheoiltankwhilekeepthelog
splittervertical.
–Makesuretheleveloftherefilledoilisjust
between2groovesaroundthedipstick.
–Cleantheoildrainboltbeforethreadthemback.
Makesuretheyaretightenedtoavoidleakage
beforeplacingthelogsplitterhorizontally.

1.2.DuringthisperiodLumberjack,willrepairor
replacefreeofchargeanypartswhichare
provedtobefaultyinaccordancewith

1.2.5Theproducthasbeenusedinadomestic
environmentonly
1.2.6Thefaultdoesnotrelatetoconsumable
itemssuchasblades,bearings,drivebelts,or
otherwearingpartswhichcanreasonablybe
expectedtowearatdifferentratesdepending
onusage.

2.ClaimsProcedure
2.1Inthefirstinstancepleasecontactthe
AuthorisedDealerwhosuppliedtheproductto
you.Inourexperiencemanyinitialproblemswith
machinesthatarethoughttobefaultydueto
faultypartsareactuallysolvedbycorrectsetting
uporadjustmentofthemachine.Agood
AuthorisedDealershouldbeabletoresolvethe
majorityoftheseissuesmuchmorequicklythan
processingaclaimundertheguarantee.Ifa
returnisrequestedbytheAuthorisedDealeror
Lumberjack,youwillbeprovidedwithaReturns
MaterialAuthorisationnumberwhichmustbe
clearlystatedonthereturnedpackage,andany
accompanyingcorrespondence.Failuretoprovide
aReturnsMaterialAuthorisationnumbermay
resultinitembeingrefuseddeliveryatAuthorised
Dealer.
2.2Anyissueswiththeproductresultingina
potentialclaimundertheguaranteemustbe
reportedtotheAuthorisedDealerfromwhichit
waspurchasedwithin48hoursofReceipt.
2.3IftheAuthorisedDealerwhosuppliedthe
producttoyouhasbeenunabletosatisfyyour
query,anyclaimsmadeunderthisGuarantee
shouldbemadedirectlytoLumberjack.TheClaim
itselfshouldbemadeinalettersettingoutthe
dateandplaceofpurchase,givingabrief
explanationoftheproblemwhichhasledtothe
