2.2 Proper use
The SafetyBox monitors the tightness of the pump tubes. A sensor detects an impermissibly leaked
electrically conductive liquid and indicates this by means of an optical and an acoustic signal.
TheSafetyBoxmayonlybeusedincombinationwithpumpsfromLutzPumpen.
• The SafetyBox can be used in the following environments:
- on roofed surfaces
- in open and closed rooms
• Observe following technical data:
Voltage 230V ~
Frequency 50Hz
Max. switching current: 8 A
Protection class IP 54
Ambient temperature -10 – 50 °C
Altitude up to 2000 m
Material housing PC
Material sensor Stainless steel 1.4571, PVC
Weight with sensor 1050 g
Minimum conductivity of the detectable liquid 10 µS/cm
Sensitivity adjustment range 5–100kΩ
Prevention of obvious misapplication (examples)
• Do not immerse SafetyBox in liquid.

4.1 Setting and testing the SafetyBox
►HangtheSafetyBoxwiththemountingbracketatthe
intended location.
►Insert the leakage sensor into the socket on the right-hand
side of the housing (→Fig.1,item1).
►Open the hinged window on the housing (→Fig.1,item2).
►Use a screwdriver to set the upper switch to "Up" (→Fig.2).
►Useascrewdrivertosetthelowerswitchto100kΩ
(→Fig.2).
►Connect the SafetyBox to the power supply using the power
supply cable (→Fig.1,item3).
►To test the leakage sensor, insert water drop by drop into
the inlet opening of the leakage sensor until the signal
device lights up and hums.
►Close the hinged window on the housing and disconnect
the SafetyBox from the power supply again.
►Dry the interior of the leakage sensor, e.g. with compressed
air.
