Before you begin…
Intended use
The device is intended for cross cuts, mitred
cuts, inclined cuts and double mitre cuts in
elongated workpieces such as profiles and
strips.
Only materials for which the corresponding
saw blade is permitted can be processed.
This product is not intended for commercial
use. Generally acknowledged accident pre-
vention regulations and enclosed safety
instructions must be observed.
Only perform work described in these
instructions for use. Any other use is
improper. The manufacturer will not assume
responsibility for damage resulting from such
use.
What are the meanings of the symbols
used?
Danger notices and information are clearly
marked throughout these instructions for
use. The following symbols are used:

General safety instructions
• To operate this device safely, the user
must have read and understood these
instructions for use before using the
device for the first time.
• If you sell or pass the device on, you must
also hand over these operating instruc-
tions.
General power tool safety warnings
• Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference. The term power tool
in the warnings refers to your mains oper-
ated (corded) power tool or battery oper-
ated (cordless) power tool.
Work area safety
• Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explo-
sive atmospheres, such as in the pres-
ence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away
while operating a power tool. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical safety
• Power tool plugs must match the out-
let. Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces such as pipes, radi-
ators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded.

• Do not expose power tools to rain or
wet conditions. Water entering a power
tool will increase the risk of electric
shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase
the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool out-
doors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable
for outdoor use reduces the risk of elec-
tric shock.
• If operating a power tools in a damp
location is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected sup-
ply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
Personal safety
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operat-
ing a power tool. Do not use a power
tool while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medica-
tion. A moment of inattention while oper-
ating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protec-
tive equipment such as dust mask, non-
skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protection used for appropriate condi-
tions will reduce personal injuries.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or
battery pack, picking up or carrying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your
finger on the switch or energizing power
tools that have the switch on invites acci-
dents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench
before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating
part of the power tool may result in per-
sonal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unex-
pected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving
parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
• If devices are provided for the connec-
tion of dust extraction and collection
facilities, ensure these are connected
and properly used. Use of these devices
can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
• Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your applica-
tion. The correct power tool will do the
job better and safer at the rate for which
it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power
tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or the battery pack from
the power tool before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of start-
ing the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands
of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools. Check for mis-
alignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condi-
tion that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power
tool repaired before use. Many acci-
dents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind
and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
Service
• Have your power tool serviced by a
qualified repair person using only iden-
tical replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the power tool is main-
tained.

Safety instructions for crosscut and
mitre saws
• Do not use the power tool for unintended
purposes. Do not use a hand-held circu-
lar saw to cut tree branches or wood, for
example.
• When working outdoors non-slip foot-
wear is recommended.
• Follow the lubrication and tool change
instructions.
• Check the connecting cable of the electri-
cal tool regularly and have it replaced by
a qualified specialist if it is damaged.
• Check the extension cables regularly and
replace if they are damaged.
• Unplug the power cord when the power
tool is not in use.
• Inspect the power tool for possible dam-
age:
• Before further use of the power tool,
safety equipment or lightly damaged
parts must be carefully inspected for their
proper function.
• Check that the moving parts are working
properly and are not jammed or dam-
aged. In order to ensure the proper oper-
ation of the power tool, all parts must be
correctly assembled and all conditions
complied with.
• For safe operation of the power tool,
damaged safety equipment and parts
must be repaired or replaced by a recog-
nised specialist unless specified other-
wise in the operating instructions.
• Damaged switches must be replaced by
a customer service workshop.
• ATTENTION! The use of other insertion
tools or accessories may be dangerous.
• This power tool meets current safety
requirements. Repairs may only be car-
ried out by an electrician using original
replacement parts, otherwise this may
pose an accident risk to the operator.
• Secure the workpiece. A workpiece
held by clamping devices or a vice is held
more safely than when held by hand.
• Keep your workplace clean. Material
mixtures are particularly dangerous. Light
metal dust can burn or explode.
• Never leave the tool before it has come
to a complete standstill. Running tools
can cause injury.
• Do not use the electrical tool if the
cable is damaged. Do not touch the
damaged cable and pull the mains plug
out of the socket if the cable is dam-
aged during working. Damaged cables
increase the risk of electric shock.
• Keep the handles dry and free from
grease. Slippery handles can cause
accidents.
• Never stand on the electrical tool.
Serious injury may result if the electrical
tool tips over or if you accidentally come
into contact with the saw blade.
• Ensure that the protective hood is
working properly and can move freely.
Never clamp in the protective hood when
open.
• Never reach into the sawing area while
the electrical tool is running. Risk of
injury when touching the saw blade.
• Never remove offcuts, wood shavings
or similar from the cutting area while
the electrical tool is running. Always
guide the tool arm first to rest position
and switch the electrical tool off.
• Only hold the saw blade to the work-
piece when it is switched on. There is
otherwise a risk of kickback if the saw
blade gets caught in the workpiece.
• Only use the electrical tool if the work-
ing surface is free from all setting
tools, wood shavings etc., apart from
the workpiece to be. Small pieces of
wood or objects coming into contact with
the rotating saw blade can hit the opera-
tor at a high speed.
• Always clamp in the workpiece to be
processed firmly. Do not process any
workpieces which are too small to
clamp tightly. Otherwise, the distance
between your hand and the rotating saw
blade is too small.
• Check by mitre cut whether the tool arm
is securely locked.
• Use the saw only for the materials
stated in proper use. The saw may oth-
erwise be overloaded.
• If the saw blade should jam, or if you
interrupt your work, switch off the saw
and keep the workpiece steady until
the saw blade has come to a standstill.
Never try to remove the workpiece as
long as the saw blade is moving to
avoid rebound. Determine and remedy
the cause of the jammed saw blade.

• Do not use any blunt, cracked, bent or
damaged saw blades. Saw blades with
blunt or incorrectly aligned teeth cause
increased friction, jamming of the saw
blade and kickback due to too narrow a
sawing gap.
• Always use saw blades of the right size
and with the receiving hole (e.g. star-
shaped or round). Saw blades not suita-
ble for the mounting parts of the saw do
not run smoothly and lead to a loss of
control.
• Do not use saw blades made of high-
alloy high-speed steel (HSS steel).
Such saw blades can break easily.
• Do not touch the saw blade after work-
ing until it has cooled down. The saw
blade becomes very hot when working.
• Never use the tool without the inser-
tion plate. Replace a defective inser-
tion plate. You may suffer injuries from
the saw blade if the insertion plate is not
in immaculate condition.
Additional safety instructions
• Check the electrical tool for possible
damage. Before further use of the elec-
trical tool you must check the safety
equipment or slightly damaged parts for
correct and proper functioning.
• Do not stand in a line with the saw blade
in front of the machine. Always stand
aside of the saw blade.
• This protects your body against possible
kickback.
• Replace a worn bench inlay.
• Only use the saw blades determined by
the manufacturer. The specified saw
blades for processing wood must meet
EN847-1.
• Wear personal safety gear if required.
This may include:
– Ear defenders to reduce the risk of
becoming deaf.
– Goggles.
– Face mask to minimise the risks of
breathing in hazardous dust.
– Gloves when handling the saw blade
and rough materials (recommendation:
saw blades should, whenever practical,
be carried in a container).
• Select a suitable saw blade for the mate-
rial to be cut.
• Warning! Never use the saw to cut mate-
rials other than those specified.
• Only use the saw when the protective
mechanisms are fully functional, in good
working order and in the intended posi-
tion.
• Ensure that spacers and spindle rings are
used only for the purpose specified by
the manufacturer.
• Prior to each sawing procedure, ensure
that the machine is standing securely.
• If necessary, support long workpieces
with suitable additional underlays.
• If necessary, secure the machine to a
workbench or similar.
• Be sure, that the speed rating of the saw
blades be higher than the minimum
speed indicated on the device.
• Only use the transport facilities when
transporting or handling the machine,
never the safety equipment.
• Do not allow other persons especially
children to touch the electrical tool or
cable.
• Remember that moving parts may also
be located behind ventilation and venting
slots.
• Symbols appearing on your product must
not be removed or covered. Signs on the
product that are no longer legible must be
replaced immediately.
Dust extraction
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing
paint, some types of wood, minerals and
metal may be harmful to health. Touching of
inhaling the dusts can cause allergic reac-
tions and/or ailments of the respiratory tract
of the user or persons in the vicinity. Certain
dusts such as oak or beech dust are consid-
ered carcinogenic, particularly in combina-

taining asbestos may only be processed by
experts.
– Always use a dust extraction facility.
– Make sure the workplace is well venti-
lated.
– Always wear a dust protection mask.
– Observe the regulations valid in your
country for the materials to be processed.
Risks caused by vibrations
The vibration values specified in the technical
data represent the main uses of the device.
The actual existing vibrations during use may
deviate from these as a result of the following
factors:
• Incorrect use of the product;
• Unsuitable tools inserted;
• Unsuitable material;
• Insufficient maintenance.
You can reduce the risks considerably by fol-
lowing the tips below:
– Maintain the device in accordance with
the instructions in the operating instruc-
tions.
– Avoid working at low temperatures.
– When it is cold, make sure your body and
your hands, in particular, are kept warm.
– Take regular breaks and move your
hands at the same time to promote circu-
lation.
Handling of laser beams
• Do not look directly into the laser beam
without wearing eye protection.
• Do not point the laser beam at reflective
surfaces, people or animals. Even a laser
beam with low output can cause damage
to the eyes.
• Use the product only for the processes
described here, otherwise dangerous
radiation exposure can occur.
• Do not open the laser module.
• Never replace the laser with other laser
types.
• Repairs may only be carried out by the
laser manufacturer or by authorised
experts.

Even with proper use of the product and
when heeding all safety instructions in these
instructions for use, the following residual
risks can arise:
• Touching the saw blade in the area which
is not covered.
• Reaching into the running saw blade.
• Rebound from workpieces and work-
piece parts.
• Broken saw blades.
• Ejection of damaged hard metal parts
from the saw blade.
• Hearing damage through not using the
necessary hearing protection.
• Harmful emissions from wood dust when
using the product in enclosed rooms.

Assembly

screw is firmly tightened.
–Sawing without using the pulling
device: Check whether the locking screw
of the pulling device is firmly tightened.
–Sawing using the pulling device: Check
whether the locking screw of the pulling
device is released.
Setting the bench width

– Pull the bench width extender(7) out to
the required length and lock with the
locking screw(23).
Setting the mitre angle
The mitre angle can be set steplessly
between -45° to 45°.
To make it easier to set the mitre square, the
saw table has stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and
45°.
DANGER! Risk of injury due to
accidental switch-on! Disconnect
the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the device.
Note: The use of a swarf extractor is
recommended when processing
larger volumes.

uct must only be put into operation if

Pulling device

Workpieces with a larger cross-section can
also be sawed using the pulling device. The
pulling device can be used for all cuts
(straight cuts, mitre cuts and double-mitre
cuts).
– When the device is not in use, push the
tool arm back as far as it will go and
tighten the locking screw(17).
Cutting depth limiter
►P.3, item2
– In combination with the pulling device,
the cutting depth limiter is used for cut-
ting grooves.
– Set the cutting depth using the set-
screw(15).
Cutting line marking
►P.3, item2
A laser beam indicates the cutting line of the
saw depth. This enables the workpiece to be
precisely positioned prior to being clamped.
– Switch the laser on or off using the
switch(13).
Notes about sawing
• When sawing using the pulling device,
always push the tool arm back (counter
direction).
• The workpiece must be in firm contact
along its entire length. When sawing long
workpieces, always use the table exten-
sion.
• Never saw workpieces set on end, lay
them flat on the saw table and clamp
firmly.
• Secure round workpieces to prevent
twisting.
• Clamp curved (bent) workpieces so that
the side curved outwards is against the
workpiece stop.
Sawing
WARNING! Risk of injury! Always
tighten the workpiece stop locking
screw before sawing.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Always
tighten the incline setting locking
screw before sawing.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Firmly
hold the workpiece only on the right-
hand side for inclined cuts.
Note: On both sides of the work-
piece stop there must be a gap of
precisely 8 mm to the saw blade.
CAUTION! Risk of injury! The per-
formance of the laser corresponds to
laser class 2. Never look directly into
the laser.
DANGER! Risk of injury! The saw
blade is more easily accessible due
to the severe inclination when double
mitre cutting. Maintain an adequate
clearance from the saw blade!

– Use the original packaging to ship when-
ever possible.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn’t work…
Malfunctions are often caused by minor
faults. You can easily remedy most of these
yourself. Please consult the following table
before contacting the vendor. You will save
yourself a lot of trouble and possibly money
too.

sioning screw should not be tight-
ened too tight.

It is imperative to observe the rota-
tional direction of the saw blade and
clamping flange when fitting!
When fitting, make sure that the saw
blade is positioned correctly on the
motor shaft.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
unit! Remove the batteries when the
device is not in use.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Store the
product so that it cannot be started
up by unauthorised persons. Ensure
that nobody can injure themselves
on the product while it is stationary.
NOTICE! Risk of product damage!
Do not store the product unprotected
in a humid environment.
DANGER! Danger of death!
Improper repairs can result in the
product functioning unsafely. This
endangers yourself and your envi-
ronment.

If you can’t fix the fault yourself, contact your
nearest vendor. Please be aware that any
improper repairs will also invalidate the war-
ranty and additional costs may be incurred.
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Appliances which are labelled with
the adjacent symbol must not be dis-
posed of in household waste. You
must dispose of such old electrical
and electronic equipment separately.
– Please check with your local authority
about the possibilities for correct dis-
posal.
– Remove all batteries and battery packs
before disposal.
Through separate disposal you send old
equipment for recycling or for other forms of
re-use. You will thus help to avoid in
somecases that damaging material gets into
the environment.

plastics that can be recycled.

for recycling.

do not belong in domestic refuse;

ble to the battery collection point of the
dealer or of your local authority.
