16. INFO - Press to turn on/o the Information on CD or USB. Press to
view information on DAB or FM

29. TIMER - Press to set the‘Alarm’ function (please see p. 28).
30. DIM - Press to select dierent levels of brightness for the display.
Timeout refers to number of seconds before the display will change to
your selected‘Dim Level’ setting when the device is put on Standby.‘On’
will set the device’s display to permanently show while it is on Standby.

NOTE: Remote Control Operating distance of up to 5 Meters and
operates using 2 x AAA Batteries.

Basic Operation
Please note all (Ref.) refer to Pages 1-3 Controls and Functions and
all (Rem.) refer to Pages 4-5 for the remote control functions.
Plug the connector into the back of the system labelled AC- (Ref.) and
the power supply into the mains.
Ensure the antenna (Ref.) is extended as far as possible so that you
can rotate it which will enable you to get the best signal you can.
Switch the button on the rear of the unit to “On”(Ref.). Once the
screen switches on, the analog Clock should display. Press the‘Power/
Standby’ button on the unit (Ref.) or on the remote (Rem.). The unit
will start up in Digital Radio mode or the previous mode you were
using.
When DAB Radio is activated for the rst time, select“Full Scan”by
scrolling through the options, then press down the Navigate/OK dial on
the unit (Ref.) or the ‘Enter/Play’button (Rem.) on the remote. The
unit will then scan and store all available stations.
To scroll through the stations use the‘Previous’ (Rem.10) and ‘Next’
buttons (Rem.25) on the remote or the unit (Ref. 8/9).
To change the mode, press the‘Mode’button (Ref.) on the unit to
switch between the options or press the Mode buttons directly on the
remote (Ref./3/18/19/20).

Standby
To put the music system on standby, press and hold the‘Power/Standby’
button on the unit (Ref.) or press the‘Power/Standby’ button (Rem.1)
on the remote.
To turn o fully, switch it o at the back of the unit and from the mains.
The cord must be out of reach of children.
Language Setting
The default display language is English. You can change to French
(Francais), German (Deutsch), English, or Italian (Italiano) by pressing
the Menu button on the remote (Rem.8) and navigating to ‘System
Settings’, then ‘Language’.
Press the‘Next’ button (Rem.25) repeatedly to scroll through to
“System Settings” and conrm choice by pressing the‘Play/Pause’
button (Rem.26). After that, scroll through to the option for“Language”
and select it. Once language settings open, scroll between“Français”,
“Deutsch”,“English”and “Italiano” then press‘OK’on either the remote or
the unit to conrm language selection.

DAB/DAB+ Radio
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.).
Press the‘Mode’button (Ref.) multiple times on the unit to switch to
DAB/DAB+ Radio. To select the mode from the remote, press the ‘FM/
DAB’button (Rem.19).
On rst use when DAB Radio is activated for the rst time, a Full Station
Scan must be completed. Press the ‘Menu’button (Rem.8/Ref.). Then,
use the‘Enter/Play’ button (Rem.26) on the remote or press down the
Navigate/OK dial on the unit (Ref.) to select‘Full Scan’.
This will start a scan up the frequency band and store all stations that
have a good signal. After searching has nished it will automatically
play the rst station stored.
To listen to all stations that have been stored use the ‘Next’ (Rem.25)
and‘Previous’buttons (Rem.10) to scroll through them.
When you turn on the radio again after it switching o, it will
automatically tune to the same station (DAB or FM) that was last
selected. In DAB/DAB+ mode, the radio will synchronize with the time
and date of the station.

When on DAB/DAB+ mode, press the‘Menu’button (Rem.8) on the
remote to open DAB radio settings. Once pressed, the following options
will be available to scroll through with the Previous and Next buttons
on the remote (Rem.10/25) and can then be selected to open further
setting options:
Full Scan
Select this option to initiate a scan for available DAB/DAB+ stations.
Once selected, the screen will display“Scanning...”as it scans for stations
with good signal. Once the scan is complete, the rst available station
will begin to play.
DAB+ Manual Tuning
As well as an auto tune function, you can manually tune the radio to
scroll through stations by multiplex and frequency.
Once“Manual Tune”is selected, use the‘Previous’ (Rem.10) and Next
(Rem.25) buttons on the remote to cycle through the DAB+ channels,
which are from 5A to 13F.
Once on your chosen station, press down the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.)
or press the Enter/Play button on the remote (Rem.26).

Dynamic Range Compression (DRC)
This function enables you to reduce the dierence between the
maximum and minimum audio volume being broadcast. This makes
quiet sounds comparatively louder, and loud sounds comparatively
quieter. DRC only works if it is enabled by the broadcaster for a specic
station.
Once the“DRC”option is selected, use the ‘Previous’(Rem.10) and Next
(Rem.25) buttons on the remote to scroll through the following DRC
options: DRC o, DRC high and DRC low.
Once on your chosen preference, press down the Navigate/OK dial
(Ref.) or press the Enter/Play button on the remote (Rem.26) to
conrm choice.
Prune
To remove stations that are listed but are unavailable on DAB, you can
turn on the ‘Prune Invalid’setting.
Once the‘Prune Invalid’option is selected, the screen will display
“Proceed to prune the invalid stations?”followed by Yes or No. To select
prune, use the‘Previous’ (Rem.10) and Next (Rem.25) buttons on the
remote or the unit (Ref.) and (Ref.) to highlight“Yes”. Select this by
pressing down the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.) or press the Enter/Play
button on the remote (Rem.26) to conrm prune.

How to store a preset station
Up to 40 stations can be set as your preset favourite stations for easy
navigation. To store a station, ensure you are listening to the station
rst.
To store a station, hold down a number on the keypad on the remote
(Rem.15) to assign the station to that preset number.
Alternatively, to begin storing a station as a preset, press and hold the
‘Program’button (Rem.23) on the remote for 3 to 5 seconds until the list
of preset slots shows on the display.
Press the‘Up’(Rem.9) or‘Down’(Rem.11) buttons to scroll through the
available preset numbers. Once on the chosen slot you wish to save the
station to, press the ‘Enter/Play’button (Rem.26) on the remote to save.
The display will then show“Preset [x] saved”.
How to play a preset radio station
Once your list of presets have been saved, use the P +/- buttons on the
remote while in DAB/FM mode to scroll through your preset stations,
or simply press the preset number using the keypad buttons on the
remote. If the keypad number corresponds to a saved preset station, it
will begin playing.
Alternatively, press the ‘Program’button to view your preset list.

Station Information for DAB/DAB+ Radio
Press the‘Info’button on the remote (Rem.16) repeatedly to show the
dierent programme information.
PTY ( Programme Type): Shows the type and description of the
programme provided by the DAB/DAB+ station.
Network: Shows the network broadcasting the channel.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station’s transmission channel
number and frequency.
Strength and Bit Error Rate (BER): Displays a signal bar with the
strength of the current station and provides details of the signal error
rate.
Bit Rate: The data rate which the signal is being transmitted.
Date: Displays the date provided by the broadcaster.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS): Displays scrolling text information
supplied by the broadcaster.

FM Radio
Press the‘Mode’button (Ref.) multiple times on the unit to switch to
DAB/DAB+ Radio. To select the mode from the remote press the ‘FM/
DAB’button (Rem.19). The rst time you switch to FM mode, the FM
frequency “87.5 MHz”will be displayed on the screen.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.) to ensure that the best signal is being
received before scanning for available stations.
To auto-scan for available stations with good signal, press the ‘INTRO/
AMS’(Automatic Music Scan) button (Rem.4) on the remote control for
the radio to begin scanning up the frequency band. The next available
station with good signal will then begin to play.
To tune a specic frequency manually
To listen to a specic frequency, press and hold the ‘Next’ button
(Rem.25) on the remote to search forward quickly, or press and hold
the‘Previous’button (Rem.10) to search back quickly. It will stop
searching when the button is released.
To search slowly through the frequencies, press the ‘Next’ (Rem.25) or
‘Previous’ buttons (Rem.10) on the remote multiple times rather than
holding them.

When on FM mode, press the Menu button (Rem.8) on the remote to
open FM radio settings. Once pressed, the following options will be
available to scroll through with the Previous and Next buttons on the
remote (Ref./25) or using the Navigate/OK dial on the Unit (Ref.)
and can then be selected to open further setting options:
FM Scan Setting
Choose between scanning strong and weak signals (All Stations) or
only the stations with strong signal (Strong Stations Only), or the
Default Station settings (Normal Stations). Select your chosen option by
pressing the‘Enter/Play’ button (Rem.26) to conrm your choice.
Audio Settings: Mono and Stereo
All stereo stations are reproduced in stereo; for weak stations this
can result in poor audio quality. The audio quality in FM mode can be
improved by using mono.
Once“Audio Setting” has been selected, press the‘Previous’(Rem.10)
or‘Next’ (Rem.25) buttons or use the Navigate/OK dial (Ref.) to choose
between selecting “Stereo allowed” or “Forced mono”. Select your
chosen option by pressing the‘Enter/Play’ button (Rem.26) to conrm
your choice.

How to store a preset station

press the preset number on the keypad.
Once“Preset Recall”opens, use the‘Up’(Rem.9) and ‘Down’(Rem.11)
buttons to scroll through your preset stations. Once on the chosen
preset station that you wish to play, press the ‘Enter/Play’button on the
remote (Rem.26) to select your choice and the station will begin to play.
