KEEP CHILDREN AWAY. All visitors should be kept away from work area.
Don't let visitors contact tool or extension cord.
STORE IDLETOOLS. When not
in
use, tools should be stored
in
dry, and high
or locked-up place

out of reach of children.
DON'T FORCETOOL.
It
will dothejob better and safer at the ratefor which
it
was intended.
USE RIGHT TOOL. Don't force small tool or attachment to do the job of a
heavy-duty tool. Don't use tool for purpose not intended.
DRESS PROPERLY. Don't wear looseclothing orjewelry. They canbecaught
in moving parts. Rubber gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended
when working outdoors. Wear protective hair covering tocontain long hair.
USE SAFETY GLASSES. Also use face or dust mask if cuttingoperation is
dusty.
DON'T ABUSE CORD. Never carry tool by cord or yank
it
todisconnect from
receptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a vise to hold work. It's safer than using
your hand and
it
frees both hands to operate tool.
DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools sharp and clean for better and
safer performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing acces-
sories. Inspecttool cords periodicallyand
if
damaged, have repairedbyautho-
rized service facility. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace
if
damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
DISCONNECTTOOLS. When not inuse, before servicing, and when chang-
ing accessories, such as blades, bits, cutters.

REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES. Form habit of checking to
see
that keys
and
adjusting wrenches are
removed
from
tool
before turning
it
on.

AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING. Don't carry plugged-intoolwithfinger
on switch. Be sure switch is
OFF
when plugging in.

OUTDOOR
USE
EXTENSIONCORDS. When tool is used outdoors, use only
extension cords intended for use outdoors and
so
marked.

STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Don't operate
tool when you are tired.
18.
CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Before further use of the tool, a guard or other
part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that
it
will
operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of
moving parts, bindingof moving parts, breakageof parts, mounting, and any
other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that
is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized serv-
ice center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere inthis instruction manual.
Have defective switches replaced by authorized service center. Don't use
tool if switch does not turn
it
on and off.
19.
GUARD AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK. Prevent body contact with grounded
surfaces. For example; pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures.

REPLACEMENT PARTS. When servicing, useonly identical replacementparts.

POLARIZED
PLUGS:
To
reduce
the
risk
of
electric shock, this equipment has
a polarized plug (one blade
is
wider than the other). This plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reversethe plug. If
it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install
the proper outlet.
Do
not changethe plug inany way.
VOLTAGE WARNING: Before connecting the tooltoa power source (receptacle,
outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage supplied is the same as that specified on the
nameplate of the tool. A power source with voltage greater than that specified
for the tool can result in SERIOUS INJURY to the user
-
as well as damage to
the tool. If in doubt, DO NOT PLUG IN THE TOOL. Using a power source with
voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES

To
remove the bit, first pull the stopper
out
of
the locator. Then grasp the bitwith
a
pair of pliers and pull the bit out of the

bit firmly into the magnetic bit holder.

sleeve
in toward the
motor and turn slightly clockwise to lock
it.

Turn the locator to adjust the depth. Ini-
I
tially, adjust the locator
so
that the tip of
the locator
is
flush with the base of the
screw head. One full turn of the locator
equals
1.5
mm
(1/16")
change in depth.
After adjusting the locator, unlock the
locking
sleeve.
Turn the locking
sleeve
slightly
so
that the
protrusions on the locking
sleeve
engage
in the notches in the locator. Drive
a
trial
screw into your material or
a
piece of
I
duplicate material. If the depth
is
not
suitable for the screw, continue adjusting
until the proper depth setting
is
obtained.

NOTE
:
Before starting your job, always test-drive
a
sample screw into
a
pieceof the installation
workpiece
so
that you are sure to have the right depth and desired adjustment.
Switch action
Tool speed
is
increased by increasingpres-
sure on the trigger.
To
start the tool,
simply pull the trigger.
Release
the trigger
to stop. For continuous operation, pull the
trigger and then push in the lock button.
To stop the tool from the locked position,
pull the trigger fully, then release
it.
CAUTION
:
Before plugging in the tool, always check to
see
that the trigger switch actuates properly
and returnsto the "OFF" position when released.
NOTE
:
Even with the switch on and motor running, the bitwill not rotate until you fit the point
of the bit in the screw head and apply forward pressure toengage the clutch.

Reversingswitch action
This
tool
has
a
reversing switch
to
change
the direction of rotation. Move the revers-
ing switch lever to the "FWD" position for
clockwise rotation or the "REV" position
for counterclockwise.
CAUTION
:
Always check the direction
of
rotation before operation.
*Use the reversing switch only when the tool comes
to
a
complete stop. Changing the
direction of rotation before the tool stops may ruin the tool.
Operation
Fit the screw on the point of the bit and
place the point
of
thescrew on the surface
of the workpiece to be fastened. Apply
pressure to the tool and start
it.
Withdraw
the tool
as
soon
as
the clutch cuts in. Then
release the trigger.
CAUTION
:
Use the proper bitfor the head of the screw that you wish touse.
When fitting the screw onto the pointof the bit, be careful not to push in on the screw.
If the screw
is
pushed in, the clutch will engage and the screw will rotate suddenly. This
coulddamage
a
workpiece or cause an injury.
Do notcontinue unnecessary clutching operation.
NOTE
:
Make sure that the bit
is
inserted straight in the screw head,
or
the screw and/or bitmay
be damaged.

switched off and unpluggedbefore attempting to perform
inspectionor maintenance.
