warnings

1. Before use, make sure that this cleaner must
be used by people who have been adequately
instructed on the use of this cleaner.

2. Before use, operators shall be provided with
information, instruction and training for the
use of the machine and the substances for
which it is to be used, including the safe
method of removal and disposal of the mate-
rial collected.

If foam/liuid comes out, sitch o󰀨 immediately.
4 . Clean the water level limiting device regularly
and examine it for signs of damage.
5. Alays make sure that lters are correctly
installed before use. Do not use the cleaner
ithout lters in place. Replace a damaged
lter immediately. It is recommended to have
some spares as lters are consumable items.
6 . AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING. Be sure
switch is OFF when installing battery(ies).
7. Do not attempt to pick up ammable materi-
als, reorks, lighted cigarettes, hot ashes,
hot metal chips, and sharp materials such as
razors, needles, broken glass or the like.
8. NEVER USE THE CLEANER IN THE VICINITY
OF GASOLINE, GAS, PAINT, ADHESIVES OR
OTHER HIGHLY EX PLOSIVE SUBSTANCES.
The switch emits sparks when turned ON
and OFF. And so does the motor commutator
during operation. A dangerous explosion may
result.
9. Never vacuum up toxic, carcinogenic, com-
bustible or other hazardous materials such
as asbestos, arsenic, barium, beryllium,
lead, pesticides, or other health endangering
materials.
10. Alays place the cleaner on a horizontal at
surface to prevent it from falling or moving
unintentionally.
11. Never use the cleaner outdoors in the rain.
12. For Finland, this machine is not to be used
outdoors at low temperature.
13 . Do not use close to heat sources (stoves, etc.).
14 . If the exhaust air is returned to the room, it
is necessary to provide for an adequate air
change rate in the room. Reference to National
regulations is necessary.
15. Do not block suction inlet/outlet/cooling vents.
These vents permit cooling of the motor.
Blockage should be carefully avoided other-
wise the motor will burn out due to a lack of
ventilation.
16 . Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
17. Do not fold, tug or step on the hose.
18. Stop the cleaner immediately if you notice
poor performance or anything abnormal
during operation.
19. REMOVE THE BATTERY(IES). W hen not in
use, before servicing, and when changing
accessories.
20. Clean and service the cleaner immediately
after each use to keep it in tiptop operating
condition.
21. MAINTAIN THE CLEANER W ITH CARE. Keep
the cleaner clean for better and safer per-
formance. Follow instructions for changing
accessories. Keep handles dry, clean, and free
from oil and grease.
22. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Before further use
of the cleaner, a guard or other part that is
damaged should be carefully checked to deter-
mine that it will operate properly and perform
its intended function. Check for alignment of
moving parts, binding of moving parts, break-
age of parts, mounting, and any other condi-
tions that may a󰀨ect its operation. A guard or
other part that is damaged should be properly
repaired or replaced by an authorized service
center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere
in this instruction manual. Have defective
switches replaced by authorized service cen-
ter. Don’ t use the cleaner if switch does not
turn it on and o󰀨.
23 . For user servicing, the machine shall be dis-
mantled, cleaned and serviced, as far as is
reasonably practicable, without causing risk to
the maintenance sta󰀨 and others.
24 . The machine should be technically inspected
by the manufacturer, or an instructed person,
at least annually, consisting of, for example,
inspection of lters for damage, air tightness
of the machine and proper function of the
control mechanism.
25. W hen carrying out service or repair opera-
tions, all contaminated items which cannot be
satisfactorily cleaned are to be disposed of;
such items shall be disposed of in impervious
bags in accordance with any current regula-
tion for the disposal of such waste.
26 . REPLACEMENT PARTS. W hen servicing, use
only identical replacement parts.

W hen not in use, always store the cleaner indoors.
28. Wet lters and the interior part of the liuid
container shall be dried before storage.
29. Be kind to your cleaner. Rough handling can
cause breakage of even the most sturdily built
cleaner.

with benzine, thinner or cleaning chemicals.
Cracks and discoloration may be caused.
3 1. Do not use cleaner in an enclosed space where
ammable, explosive or toxic vapors are given

some mothproong substances, etc., or in
areas here ammable dust is present.
3 2. Do not operate the cleaner or any tool while
under the inuence of drugs or alcohol.
33. As a basic rule of safety, use safety goggles or
safety glasses with side shields.
34. Use a dust mask in dusty work conditions.
3 5. This machine is not intended for use by per-
sons including children with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of expe-
rience and knowledge.
36. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the cleaner.
3 7. Never handle battery(ies) and cleaner with wet
hands.
3 8. Use extreme caution when cleaning on stairs.
3 9. Do not use the cleaner as a stool or work
bench. The machine may fall down and may
result in personal injury.

Battery tool use and care
1. Recharge only ith the charger specied by
the manufacturer. A c h a r g e r t h a t i s s u i t a b l e f o r
one type of battery pack may create arisk of re
w h e n u s e d w i t h a n o t h e r b a t t e r y p a c k .
2. Use poer tools only ith specically desig-
nated battery packs. U s e o f a n y o t h e r b a t t e r y
packs may create arisk of injury and re.
3 . W hen battery pack is not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects, like paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects, that can make a connection from one
terminal to another. S h o r t i n g t h e b a t t e r y t e r m i -
nals together may cause burns or are.
4 .
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected
from the battery; avoid contact. If contact acci-
dentally occurs, ush ith ater. If liuid con-
tacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. L i q u i d
ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or
modied. Damaged or modied batteries may exhibit unpre-
dictable behaviour resulting in re, explosion or risk of injury.
6 . Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or
excessive temperature. Exposure to re or tem-
p e r a t u r e a b o v e 13 0 ° C m a y c a u s e e x p l o s i o n .
7. Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside the
temperature range specied in the instruc-
tions. C h a r g i n g i m p r o p e r l y o r a t t e m p e r a t u r e s
outside the specied range may damage the
battery and increase the risk of re.

Important safety instructions for
battery cartridge
1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-
tions and cautionary markings on (1) battery char-
ger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery.
2. Do not disassemble or tamper with the battery car-
tridge. It may result in are, excessive heat, or explosion.
3 . If operating time has become excessively
shorter, stop operating immediately. It may
result in a risk of overheating, possible burns
and even an explosion.
4 .
If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them out
with clear water and seek medical attention right
away. It may result in loss of your eyesight.
5. Do not short the battery cartridge:
( 1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-
ductive material.
( 2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-
tainer with other metal objects such as
nails, coins, etc.
( 3 ) Do not expose battery cartridge to water
or rain.
A battery short can cause a large current
o, overheating, possible burns and even a
breakdown.
6 . Do not store and use the tool and battery car-
tridge in locations where the temperature may
reach or exceed 50 ° C (122 ° F).
7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if
it is severely damaged or is completely worn
out. The battery cartridge can explode in a re.
8. Do not nail, cut, crush, throw, drop the battery
cartridge, or hit against a hard object to the
battery cartridge. S u c h c o n d u c t m a y r e s u l t i n a
re, excessive heat, or explosion.
9. Do not use a damaged battery.
10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject
to the Dangerous Goods Legislation require-
ments.

11. W hen disposing the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool and dispose of it in a safe
place. Follow your local regulations relating to
disposal of battery.
12. Use the batteries only with the products
specied by Makita. In s t a l l i n g t h e b a t t e r i e s t o
non-compliant products may result in are, exces-
s i v e h e a t , e x p l o s i o n , o r l e a k o f e l e c t r o l y t e .
13 . If the tool is not used for a long period of time,
the battery must be removed from the tool.
14 . During and after use, the battery cartridge may
take on heat which can cause burns or low
temperature burns. Pay attention to the han-
dling of hot battery cartridges.
15. Do not touch the terminal of the tool imme-
diately after use as it may get hot enough to
cause burns.
16 . Do not allow chips, dust, or soil stuck into the
terminals, holes, and grooves of the battery
cartridge. It may cause heating, catching re,
b u r s t a n d m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e t o o l o r b a t t e r y c a r -
tridge, resulting in burns or personal injury.
17. Unless the tool supports the use near
high-voltage electrical power lines, do not use
the battery cartridge near a high-voltage elec-
trical power lines. It m a y r e s u l t i n a m a l f u n c t i o n
o r b r e a k d o w n o f t h e t o o l o r b a t t e r y c a r t r i d g e .
18. Keep the battery away from children.

Tips for maintaining maximum
battery life
1. Charge the battery cartridge before completely
discharged. Always stop tool operation and
charge the battery cartridge when you notice
less tool power.
2.
Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge.
Overcharging shortens the battery service life.
3 . Charge the battery cartridge with room tempera-
ture at 10 ° C - 40 ° C (50 ° F - 104 ° F). Let a hot
battery cartridge cool down before charging it.
4 . W hen not using the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool or the charger.
5. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not use
it for a long period (more than six months).
Important safety instructions for
wireless unit
1. Never open the lid of the slot by yourself once
installing the wireless unit.
2. Do not disassemble or tamper with the wire-
less unit.
3 . Keep the wireless unit away from young chil-
dren. If accidentally swallowed, seek medical
attention immediately.
4 . Use the wireless unit only with Makita tools.
5. Do not expose the wireless unit to rain or wet
conditions.
6 . Do not use the wireless unit in places where
the temperature exceeds 50 ° C (122 ° F).
7. Do not operate the wireless unit in places
where medical instruments, such as heart
pace makers are nearby.

Do not operate the wireless unit in places where

Filter cleaning system
This appliance has lter cleaning system. During the
