Informationen zum Vorbild
Von der schweren Güterzuglokomotive E 94 wurden in den
Jahren 1940 bis 1956 in Deutschland und Österreich 202 Ex-
emplare gefertigt. Die als „deutsches Krokodil“ bekannte Ma-
schine ist auf einem Brückenrahmen zwischen Drehgestellen
aufgebaut, die fest mit den gelenkigen Vorbauten verbunden
sind. Das Vorbild des Modells, die BR 194 112-9 wurde am
04.11.1943 in Dienst gestellt und war bis 1974 im Bw Augsburg
stationiert. Später wurde sie in das Bw Freilassing überstellt.
Die E 94 erreichte eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 90 bis
100 km/h und eine Anfahrleistung von 4.670 kW.
Bei den Lokomotiven der Deutschen Bundesbahn (DB)
wurden in den 1960er-Jahren die Dachvorbauten verlängert,
damit die Lokomotivführer nicht von der Sonne geblendet
werden konnten. Die DB bezeichnete ihre Maschinen seit
1968 als Baureihe (BR) 194. Die Lokomotiven der Deutschen
Reichsbahn (DR) werden seit 1970 als BR 254 bezeich-
net. Sie unterscheiden sich besonders durch die roten
Drehgestellrahmen von den DB-Loks. Die Österreichischen
Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) bezeichnen ihre Maschinen als Reihe
1020. Durch Änderungen an Vorbauten und Stirnseiten
sowie andere Farbgebung (dunkles Grün beziehungsweise
helles Orange) unterscheiden sie sich von den deutschen
Lokomotiven.
Die letzte aus dem Dienst ausgemusterte Lokomotive bei der
Deutschen Bundesbahn war die Lok mit der Betriebsnum-
mer 194 158-2, die dem Schneidbrenner nur knapp entkam
und von der „Arbeitsgemeinschaft historische Eisenbahn-
fahrzeuge e.V.“ wieder fahrfähig restauriert wurde. Damit
steht dieses Fahrzeug heute wieder für Sonderfahrten zur
Verfügung.
Information about the Prototype
202 units of the heavy freight locomotive E 94 were built
between 1940 and 1956 in Germany and Austria. This engine,
known as the “German Crocodile”, is a 3-part articulated
engine with a central bridge frame riding between two
trucks which are in turn rigidly mounted to the end parts of
the locomotive body. The prototype of the model, no.
194 112-9, was placed into service on November 4, 1943 and
was stationed in Augsburg until 1974. Late it was transferred
to Freilassing. The E 94 has a top speed of 90–100 km/h
(56 – 62 m.p.h.) and a starting output of 4,670 kW.
In the 1960’s the cab roofs were extended out in front of the
cab ends to act as a shade against sunlight. In the 1960s
roofs on those locomotives belonging to the German Federal
Railroad (DB) were extended out in front of the cabs to
protect the locomotive engineer’s eyes from the sunlight.
The DB designated their units as class 194 starting in 1968.
The German State Railroad’s (DR) locomotives have been
designated as class 254 since 1970. A particular feature of
these units is their red truck frames. The Austrian Federal
Railways (ÖBB) designate their units as the class 1020.
They differ from the German locomotives in changes to the
hoods and ends as well as a different color scheme (dark
green or light orange).
The last locomotive retired from service on the German
Federal Railroad was the unit with road number 194 158-2,
which narrowly escaped the cutting torch and was restored
to operational condition by the group “Arbeitsgemeinschaft
historische Eisenbahnfahrzeuge e.V.” This locomotive is
now available again for excursion runs.

202 motrices lourdes pour trains de marchandises de la série
E 94 ont été construites en Allemagne et en Autriche entre
1940 et 1956. Cette motrice, connue sous le nom de «Crocodile
Allemand», compred un châssis-pont qui relie entre eux les 2

type de notre maquette, BR 194 112-9, à été mis en service le
4.11.1943. Il à été affecté au dépôt d’ Augsbourg jusqu’ en 1974
et ensuite au dépôt de Freilassing. La E 94 peut atteindre une
vitesse de 90–100 km/h et sa puissance au démarrage est de
4.670 kW.
En 1960 les avancées du toit ont été prolongées, évitant que le
mécanicien soit ébloui par le soleil. Dans les annés 60, l’avant

La dernière locomotive retirée du service à la Deutsche
Bundesbahn a été la locomotive portant le matri-cule 194 158-
2. Celle-ci a échappé de peu au chalumeau du ferrailleur et a
été heureusement restaurée et remise en état de marche par
l’association «Arbeitsgemeinschaft historische Eisenbahnfahr-
zeuge e.V.» Cette machine est maintenant mise régulièrement
en tête de trains spéciaux.

Van de zware goederentrein-locomotief E 94 werden er in de

gebouwd. De als “Duitse Krokodil“ bekende machine is
gebouwd op een brugvormig onderstel, dat geplaatst is op
twee onderstellen, die één geheel vormen met de scharnie-
rende uitbouwen. Het voorbeeld van dit model, de
BR 194 112-9 werd op 4.11.1943 in dienst gesteld en was tot
1974 in het locdepot Augsburg gestationneerd. Later werd
hij naar het locdepot Freilassing overgeplaatst. De E 94
bereikt een maximumsnelheid van 90–100 km/u en een
aanzetvermogen van 4.670 kW.

werden in de jaren zestig de daken verlengd, zodat de
machinist niet door de zon verblind kon worden. De DB heeft
deze machines in 1968 in de serie (BR) 194 ondergebracht.
De lokomotieven van de Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) worden
sinds 1970 met de serie 254 aangegeven. Ze onderscheiden
zich vooral door de rode draaistellen. De Oosterijkse Bonds-
spoorwegen (ÖBB) duiden hun machines als serie 1020
aan. Door veranderingen aan de voorbouwen en fronten
en een andere kleurstelling (donkergroen resp. fel oranje)
onderscheiden zij zich van de Duitse Krokodil.
De laatste locomotief die bij de Deutschen Bundesbahn
buiten dienst gesteld werd had het bedrijfsnummer
194 158-2. Deze loc ontkwam maar net aan de snijbrander en
werd door de “Arbeitsgemeinschaft historische Eisenbahn-
freunde e.V.” weer rijklaar gerestaureerd. Hierdoor is deze
loc nu weer beschikbaar voor bijzondere ritten.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebs-
system (Märklin Wechselstrom, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems) eingesetzt werden.
• Nur Schaltnetzteile/Transformatoren verwenden, die

• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle versorgt
werden.

• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das
Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset
74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset
nicht geeignet.
• Setzen Sie das Modell keiner direkten Sonneneinstrah-
lung, starken Temperaturschwankungen oder hoher
Luftfeuchtigkeit aus.
• ACHTUNG! Funktionsbedingte scharfe Kanten und Spitzen.

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec un
système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin AC,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital ou Märklin Systems).
• Utiliser uniquement des convertisseurs et transforma-
teurs correspondant à la tension du secteur local.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que par
une seule source de courant.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur la
sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi de votre système
d’exploitation.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conventi-
onnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A
cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set
de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en
mode numérique.
• Ne pas exposer le modèle à un ensoleillement direct,
à de fortes variations de température ou à un taux

• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de
gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men de
ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale bedrijf
is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
• Stel het model niet bloot aan in directe zonnestraling,
sterke temperatuurwisselingen of hoge luchtvochtigheid.
• OPGEPAST! Functionele scherpe kanten en punten.
Belangrijke aanwijzing
• De gebruiksaanwijzing en de verpakking zijn een be-
standdeel van het product en dienen derhalve bewaard
en meegeleverd te worden bij het doorgeven van het
product.
• Voor reparatie of onderdelen kunt u zich tot uw Märklin
handelaar wenden.

Aviso de seguridad
• La locomotora solamente debe funcionar en un sistema
de corriente propio (Märklin AC – Märklin Delta –
Märklin Digital o Märklin Systems).
• Emplear únicamente fuentes de alimentación conmutadas
y transformadores que sean de la tensión de red local.
• La alimentación de la locomotora deberá realizarse
desde una sola fuente de suminitro
• Observe bajo todos los conceptos, las medidas de
seguridad indicadas en las instrucciones de su sistema
de funcionamiento.
• Para el funcionamiento convencional de la locomotora de-
ben suprimirse las interferencias en la vía de conexión de
la alimentación. Para ello debe emplearse el set supresor
de interferencias 74046. El set supresor de interferencias
no es adecuado para el funcionamiento en modo digital.
• No exponer el modelo en miniatura a la radiación solar
directa, a oscilaciones fuertes de temperatura o a una
humedad del aire elevada.
• ¡ATENCIÓN! Esquinas y puntas afiladas condicionadas a
la función.

íntegra del producto y, por este motivo, deben guardarse y

• Velocità massima modificabile.
• Regolazione dei parametri della locomotiva (indirizzo, ri-
tardo di avviamento/frenatura, velocità massima): tramite
Control Unit, Mobile Station oppure Central Station.
• Illuminazione di testa dipendente dalla direzione di marcia.
• Nel funzionamento analogico si hanno a disposizione
solamente le funzioni di marcia e di commutazione dei
fanali.
Avvertenze per la sicurezza
• Tale locomotiva deve essere impiegata soltanto con un si-
stema di funzionamento adeguato per questa (Märklin AC,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oppure Märklin Systems).
• Impiegare soltanto alimentatori “switching“ e trasforma-
tori che corrispondono alla Vostra tensione di rete locale.
• La locomotiva non deve venire alimentata nello stesso
tempo con più di una sorgente di potenza.
• Vogliate prestare assolutamente attenzione alle avverten-
ze di sicurezza nelle istruzioni di impiego per il Vostro
sistema di funzionamento.
• Per il funzionamento tradizionale della locomotiva il binario di
alimentazione deve essere protetto dai disturbi. A tale scopo
si deve impiegare il corredo antidisturbi 74046. Tale corredo
antidisturbi non è adatto per il funzionamento Digital.
• Non esponete tale modello ad alcun irraggiamento solare
diretto, a forti escursioni di temperatura oppure a elevata
umidità dell’aria.
• AVVERTENZA! Per motivi funzionali i bordi e le punte sono
spigolosi.

Säkerhetsanvisningar
• Loket får endast köras med ett därtill avsett driftsystem
(Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital eller
Märklin Systems).
• Använd endast nätadaptrar och transformatorer anpas-
sade för det lokala elnätet.
• Loket får inte samtidigt försörjas av mer än en kraftkälla.
• Beakta alltid säkerhetsanvisningarna i bruksanvisningen
som hör till respektive driftsystemet.
• När motorvagnens lokdel ska köras med konventionell/
analog drift måste anlutningsskenan vara avstörd. Till
detta använder man anslutningsgarnityr 74046 med av-
störning och överbelastningsskydd. Avstörningsskyddet
får inte användas vid digital körning.
• Modellen får inte utsättas för direkt solljus, häftiga tem-
peraturväxlingar eller hög luftfuktighet.
• VARNING! Funktionsbetingade vassa kanter och spetsar.

passer til den lokale netspænding.
• Lokomotivet må ikke forsynes fra mere end én strømkilde
ad gangen.
• Vær under alle omstændigheder opmærksom på de vink
om sikkerhed, som findes i brugsanvisningen for Deres
driftssystem.
• Ved konventionel drift af lokomotivet skal tilslutningssporet
støjdæmpes. Dertil skal anvendes støjdæmpningssættet
74046. Støjdæmpningssættet er ikke egnet til digital drift.
• Modellen må ikke udsættes for direkte sollys, store tempe-
raturudsving eller høj luftfugtighed.
