GENERAL WEIGHING OPERATION
1. Place the scale on a hard, level surface. Uneven surfaces will
affect accuracy.
2. Press the “ON/OFF” button to turn the scale on. The display first
shows “8888”, followed by a zero display. If the display does not
show zero, press the “TARE/ ” button to reset (tare) the scale
to zero.
3. The scale is set at the factory to weigh in gram (g). While the
scale is on, press the “UNIT/HOLD” button to switch to pounds
(lb).
4. Place the item to be weighed onto the platform. The display will
count up to the weight of the item. A “Ο” icon to the left of the
weight digits indicates the weight has stabilized. As you add
weight, the weight displayed increases. When all the weight is
removed, the display will return to zero.
5. The scale will automatically turn off after approximately 2 minutes
of nonuse. Press the “ON/OFF” button to turn the scale off
manually.

12
INSTRUCTION OF HOLD FUNCTION
When the “HOLD” function is turned on, the LCD screen will continue
to display the weight for 30 seconds after the weight is removed from
the platform.
To turn on the Hold function:
1. While the scale is on, press and hold the “UNIT/HOLD” button.
“ ” and a blinking triangle icon appear on the LCD.
Release the button.
2. Place the item to be weighed on the platform. The weight will
appear and the triangle icon will stop blinking when the weight is
locked in. The weight will be “held” on the LCD when the item is
removed. The weight will be held for 30 seconds.
3. To release the hold function before the scale shuts off, press and
hold the “UNIT/HOLD” button. The LCD will return to zero. The
scale may be turned off manually by pressing the “ON/OFF”
button. The Hold function is automatically disabled when the
scale turns off.

13
INSTRUCTION OF TARE FUNCTION
You may wish to weigh ingredients in a bowl or other container (not
included). In this case, you will need to tare, or offset, the weight of
the bowl so that only the weight of the ingredients is displayed.
1. Choose a container that will safely balance on the platform
without tipping or falling. Do not use a heavy container, as this
might reduce the maximum capacity of the scale.
2. While the scale is off, place the empty container on the scale
platform. Turn the scale on. The display will show “8888”, then a
zero display. The weight of the container has been zeroed out.
3. Add the ingredient to be weighed. The weight of the ingredient
alone will display.
4. The weight of additional ingredients may be tared out as well. For
example, to measure ½ lb rice and ½ lb beans together, place the
rice into the bowl. Once the correct amount of rice is weighed,
press the “TARE/ ” button until the display resets to zero. Add
½ lb of beans. Both ingredients have been accurately weighed in
the same bowl.
5. When weights have been tared out, the display will show a
negative number when the items are removed from the scale. To
reset the scale back to zero for a new measurement, simply press
the “TARE/ ” button again. The scale will reset to zero.

14
INSTRUCTION AUTO SHUT-OFF FUNCTION
The scale will automatically shut off after 2 minutes of nonuse to
conserve the batteries. The auto-shut off feature can be disabled to
allow the scale to operate continuously or set from 2 minutes to 5
minutes.
1. Press “ON/OFF” to turn the scale on.
2. Press and hold “UNIT/HOLD” and “TARE/ ” at the same time
for 3 seconds.
3. The display will show “Set”, then “P 1.00”, then “A.OFF”. Release
the buttons.
4. Press “TARE/ ”. The display shows the current auto-shut off
time (example: “120S” for 120 second auto shut-off).
5. Press “UNIT/HOLD” to cycle through the options: “120S”, “180S”,
“240S”, “300S”, or “oFF” (the scale will remain on until “ON/OFF”
is manually pressed).
6. Press “TARE/ ” to select the desired setting. The display
shows “A.OFF”.
7. Press “UNIT/HOLD” until “End” displays, then press
“TARE/ ”.
8. Set up is complete. The scale returns to weighing mode.
NOTE: If the scale is operating on adapter power, it will remain on
until the “ON/OFF” button is manually pressed.

15
INSTRUCTION CALIBRATION FUNCTION
You must use a 5 kg calibrated weight ONLY to properly recalibrate
the scale.
1. Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button and then press the
"UNIT/HOLD" button 3 times. Release all buttons. A number
between 5000 to 20000 will display.
2. Press the “TARE/ ” button. The display will show zero.
3. Place a calibrated 5 kg weight on the scale platform. (Choose the
the 5 kg weight if it is set to kilograms.)
4. Press “TARE/ ” again. The LCD will show “CAL” if the
calibration is correct, then 10.000 lb or 5000g (the calibrated
weight used). (If the calibration is unsuccessful, the LCD will
show a number between 5000 and 20000 instead of “CAL”. If this
occurs, repeat the steps above.)
5. The calibration is complete.
