This alarm must be installed and maintained by
a suitably qualified electrician in accordance
with current legislation.
Please read this complete document before
installation or maintenance.
The alarm has been tested to IP65 and must
be connected to a suitably protected and fused
circuit to protect from electrical shock.
The panel access key should always be
removed when not in use for maintenance.
Please ensure that this document remains with
the maintainer and householder as appropriate.

About your alarm.
The MAHLA alarm will activate the beacon and sounder if there is a loss of
power to the alarm or the float switch indicates a high level. The button switch
inside the panel door can silence the sounder but while there is an alarm
condition, the beacon will continue to flash until power is restored or the high
level is rectified.
The MAHLA has LED indicators on the circuit board to assist installation and
maintenance. They indicate mains power present, UPS (battery healthy), power
failure.
The LED, visible inside the panel window, indicates mains power to the alarm.

Using the key provided,
unlock the panel door
and press the two door
latches and open the
door.

For ease of installation,
remove the panel door
using a screwdriver or
similar in the hinge
slots, moving the hinge
out of the enclosure.

Fasten the enclosure to
a wall with suitable
fixings(not supplied)
using the pass-throughs
indicated.
Be careful not to distort
the enclosure by over
tightening or fastening
to an uneven surface.

Connect the float switch
to the circuit board,
entering through the
middle gland. Tighten
the gland.
These are normally
black and brown wires,
normally open switch.
Connections are not
polarity sensitive so can
be wired to either of the
connectors.

Remove the cable
insulation from the end
of the black battery wire
and connect the wire to
the circuit board by
pressing down the orange
tab to open the
connection point.
Press the test button on
the circuit board to test
the sounder and beacon.

Connect the push button
switch on the panel front
to the connector
indicated.

Fasten the lid to the
enclosure using the 4
plastic screws.
Ensure the button on the
panel is in the down /
pressed position. This will
enable the sounder and is
used to silence the
sounder for maintenance.

Re-fit the panel door by
sliding the hinges into
position until they click
home.
