Rules for safe operation
Warning!
Safety symbols in this Instruction Manual are used to flag possible dangers. The
safety symbols and their explanations require your full understanding. The safety
warnings do not, by themselves, eliminate any danger, nor are they substitutes for
proper accident prevention measures.
Warning!
This Safety Alert Symbol indicates caution, warning, or danger. Failure to obey a
safety warning can result in serious injury to yourself or others. To reduce the risk of
injury, fire, or electric shock, always follow the safety precautions.
Know your tool
To operate this tool, carefully read this Instruction Manual and all labels affixed to the Cordless
Screwdriver before using. Keep this Instruction Manual available for future reference.
Important
This tool should only be serviced by a qualified service technician. For more information, call the
toll-free helpline at 1-800-689-9928.

conditions, will reduce personal injuries.
• Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensure that the switch is in the off-position before connecting
to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools
with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.

against deep discharging. When the
battery is fully discharged, the tool is
switched off by a protective circuit.
1. Attach the charger cord to the socket.

3. The battery is fully charged as soon as the battery charge indicator shines off.
NOTE:This charger can be used only with a 60Hz, 120V AC circuit.
4. When recharging, the tool will require approximately 3–5 hours reaching full capacity. The
tool will not overcharge, and can remain attached to the charger indefinitely while not in use
throughout the cutting session.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Direction-of-rotationselector
(forward/centre-lock/reverse)
(fig 3)
The direction of rotation is controlled by a
selector located above the trigger switch.
With the screwdriver held in normal
operating
position:
1. Position the direction-of-rotation
selector to the left of the tool for
forward rotation.
2. Position the direction-of-rotation selector to the right of the tool for reverse rotation.
3. Setting the switch in the OFF (centre-lock) position helps reduce the possibility of accidental
starting when not in use.
NOTE:To prevent gear damage, always allow the drill to come to a complete stop before changing
the direction of rotation.
NOTE:The screwdriver will not run unless the direction-of-rotation selector is engaged fully to the
left or right.
Attachingbits(g 4)
Insert the bit into the hex collet; the mag-
netic collet will hold the bits automatically.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Fastening with screws
(g 5)
g 5
The procedure shown will enable you to fasten materials together with your screwdriver without
stripping, splitting, or separating the material.
1. Clamp the pieces together and drill the first hole 2/3 the diameter of the screw. If the mate-
rial is soft, drill only 2/3 of the proper length. If it is hard, drill the entire length.
2. Unclamp the pieces and drill the second hole the same diameter as the screw shank in the
first or top piece of wood.
3. If a flat head screw is used, countersink the hole to make the screw flush with the surface.
Then, simply apply even pressure when driving the screw. The screw shank clearance hole
in the first piece allows the screw head to pull the pieces tightly together.
2. Drill the same
diameter as
screw shank.
1. Drill 2/3 diameter and 2/3 of
screw length for soft materials,
full length for hard materials.
Screw Apply a slight
even pressure
when driving
screws.
3. Countersink the same
diameter as screw.
