Masterpro MPTORCHCHEF User manual

(BLOWTORCH IS SUPPLIED EMPTY AND MUST BE FILLED
BEFORE USE)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
It is important to read these instructions carefully and
familiarise yourself with product before lighting or operating.
Re-read instructions periodically to refresh your memory.
Retain instructions for future reference.
Turning Off/Safety Lock
Safety Lock is always engaged when not in use.
To turn blowtorch off, simply release Ignitor Button (5).
WARNING
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN
1. IMPORTANT: AFTER EACH FILLING, WAIT FOR 2 MINUTES
BEFORE USE TO ALLOW GAS TO STABILISE AND FOR
VAPOUR TO DISSIPATE.
2. Read instructions before use.
3. Only use primary branded aerosol butane gas.
4. Refill in a well-ventilated area.
5. Keep nozzle clean from dust and do not drop blowtorch as
these are causes for malfunction.
6. Do not store under direct sunlight or in any place where
temperature will exceed 40°C.
7. Do not touch Flame Guard (1) during and after operation
as it becomes extremely hot. Care must be taken to avoid
accidental burns.
8. Butane gas is extremely flammable. Handle with care.
9. Always point blowtorch away from face and clothing when
igniting and operating.
10. Make sure Safety Lock (3) has engaged when not in use,
and that flame has completely extinguished after each use.
11. After use, allow blowtorch to cool down before storing.
12. Do not continually use blowtorch for over 1 hour.
13. Never puncture or dispose of in fire. Discard empty gas
cartridges responsibly.
14. Read and follow all instructions and warnings on butane
gas packaging.
15. Do not use blowtorch to light cigarettes, cigars or pipes.
16. Never loosen or tamper with Filler Valve (7) on base of
blowtorch.
17. If stored for long periods of time without use, safely
vent all gas from blowtorch prior to storing. This should be
done outside, away from any source of ignition. Always
store vertically.
18. If blowtorch looks damaged in any way – do not use.
Discard in bin.
19. Never carry a blowtorch in hand luggage or hold luggage
on an aircraft.
20. Refrain from pointing flame directly downward, as built up
heat may damage blowtorch. Operation angle of 45° down
is advised.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Blue part of flame is hottest. A simple way to control
temperature is by controlling distance between blue flame and
object being heated. Gentle heat can be obtained by increasing
distance.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Primary branded aerosol butane gas can be purchased
from barbecue, kitchen and hardware stores and many
supermarket service desks.
GAS FILLING
Always fill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
Only use primary branded aerosol butane gas.
Ensure Filler Valve (7) is tight.
Turn unit upside down and insert fill stem from gas can/
cylinder into Filler Valve (7) and press down for 3-4 seconds.
Repeat 3 times. Back spray from Filler Valve (7) indicates that
blowtorch is full (Figure A).
After filling allow 2 minutes for gas to stabilise.
Always read and follow all instructions on butane gas
packaging.
IGNITING
Push Flame Adjustment Slide (2) to the ‘+’ position.
Push down Safety Lock (3) button until it clicks into place
(Figure B).
Press down Ignitor Button (5) and flame will ignite instantly
(Figure C).
For safety reasons, Ignitor Button (5) will not depress unless
Safety Lock (3) is locked in place.
Do not add attachments to the end of gas refill canister as
valve is designed to accept gas direct from can without any
adaptors added (these adaptors are usually provided for
cigarette lighters).
FLAME ADJUSTMENT & CONTINUOUS FLAME
Flame length can be adjusted during use by moving the Flame
Adjustment Slide (2) to the ‘-‘ position for approximately
1cm flame length and ‘+’ position for approximately 2.5cm
flame length. Ignitor Button (5) must remain depressed when
adjusting flame length unless Continuous Flame Lock Lever (4)
is activated. Be aware of flame direction when adjusting flame
length.
To engage Continuous Flame feature, hold down Ignitor Button
(5) and slide Continuous Flame Lock Lever (4) towards back
of blowtorch (Figure D). Release Ignitor Button (5) and flame
will remain on. To turn Continuous Flame feature off, slide
Continuous Flame Lock Lever (4) towards front of blowtorch
(Figure F). If Ignitor Button isn’t being held down at this time,
flame will extinguish.
CAUTION: Use extreme caution when Continuous Flame
feature is activated and be aware of flame direction. Flame will
be continuous and not turn off until the Continuous Flame Lock
Lever (4) is manually disengaged, or gas runs out.
