Getting started
l. Open thebattery compartmentof receiver and insert the two AA batteries.
2. Open the battery compaflment of transmitterand insert the two AAA batteries.
The RemoteChekrMneedsthe receiver to registerthe radio frequencl signal from the transminer.This needsto be done every time the unit is operatedafter the unit
is turned off.
Automatic registration
l. Plugthetwo stainlesssteel
probe
sensorsinto Sl and52 on thetransmitter.
2. Slide the switch on the rear of the receiverto OPERATE. REMOTE SENSOR I and --- under PROBE TEMP will blink on the LCD durins the
reglstratlon
process.
3. Slidethe switch on the rearof the transmitterto ON. This needsto be done
within 60 secondsof turningthe receiverto OPERATE in order for the
receiverto automatically registerthe signal from the transmitter.
,1. Registrationis completewhen the unit beeps.REMOTE SENSOR I remainon and rhetemperature
from probe sensorI is shown under PROBE TEMP.

Manualregistration
1. Plugthetwo stainlesssteel
probe
sensorsinto S1andS2on thetransmitter.
2. MakesuretheslideswrtchontherearofthereceiverisswitchedtoOPERATEandtheslidessitchonrearofthetransmitterisON.
3. PressSETon therearof the
receiver.REMOTE SENSORI and
--- under
PROBETEMP uill blink on theLCD duringtheregistration
process.
4. Press
and
hold TX for 2 secondson the rearofthe transmitter.This needsto be done
uithin 60 secondsofpressing SET on the rearofthe receiverin
order for the receiverto registerthe signalfrom the transmitter.OnceTX is released
it will take severalsecondsfor the receiver
to register.If it
doesn'tbeep
within 5-10seconds
press
andhold TX again.
5. Registrationis completewhen the unit beeps.
REMOTE SENSOR I remain on and the temperaturefrom probe sensorI is shown under PROBE TEMP.

and hold TASTE fbr 2 seconds.BEEF will be shown and the box around
W.DONE and tableB icon will blink. PressMEAT againto selectmeat you want to changethe temperature
for. PressA or V to raise
or lower temperature.
The range can only be raised by 10 'F or lowered by 20 'F. All tastelevels for meat selectedwill be changedby this sameamount. The temperatureis
setwhen W. DONE andB stopblinking or you press TASTE. Pressandhold MEAT for 2 secondsto go back to table A.
Settingthe Clock
Pressandhold SET on therearof thereceiverfor 2 seconds.12Hr will blink. PressHRS or MINS to switchfrom 12hour clock to 24 hour clock.PressSET again

Procedure for typical useon an outdoor grill:
The following typical examplewill go through the stepsto havethe Remote ChekrMalert you to when a beef steakis cooked to medium (USDA table A), a chicken

2. Placesteak,chicken andhot dogs on grill rack.
3. Insert probe sensorI into the centerof thickest portion of the steak.Avoid touching bone or heavy fat areas.
4. Insert probe sensor
2 into the centerand thickest portion of the chicken breast.
5. Position the probe sensorwires so they will not come into contact with flames and exit the grill surfaceareawithout being pinched/crushed
by the grill cover.
6. Stand/hangthe transmitter
away from heatsource
of grill. DO NOT put transmitter
on closedcover or underthe cover.The transmitteris not waterproof.
DO NOT use intherain.
7. Press
S1/S2soREMOTE SENSORI isdisplayed
8. PressMEAT soBEEF isdisplayed.
9. PressTASTE soMEDIUM in box isdisplayed.

STOP to turn off the alert.The alert will beep
and blink after two minutesif the PROBE TEMP temperature
remains

temperature.The alert stopswhen the PROBE TEMP temperaturefalls below the SET TEMP temperature.
20.Turn off grill. Removethe probesensorsfrom steak
andchicken.Always weara heat
resistant
glove to touch the stainlesssteelprobesensoror wire during
orjust aftercooking.Do not touchwith barehands.
