CorrectLPGasTank Use
LPgasgrill modelsaredesigned forusewitha
standard20lb.Liquid PropaneGas (LP gas) tank,
notincludedwith grill box. Never connectyour
gas grill toan LPgas tank that exceeds this
capacity.Atankofapproximately12inchesin
diameter by18-1/2incheshigh is the maximum
sizeLPgas tank touse.Youmustusean
"OPD" gastankwhichoffers anOverfillPre-
vention Device. Thissafetyfeatureprevents the
tankfrombeingoverfilledwhich can cause malfunc-
tionof theLPgastank,Regulator and/or grill.
TheLP gastank must beconstructedand marked
in accordancewith specifications ofthe U.S. Dept.

Never connect an unregulated LP gas tankto
your gasgrill.Thegas Regulator assembly
suppliedwithyour gas grillis adjusted to have
an outlet pressure of11"water column(W.C.)
for connection to an LP gas tank.
OnlyusetheRegulator andHose Assembly
suppliedwithyour gas grill. Replacement
Regulatorsand Hose Assemblies mustbe
thosespecifiedbymanufacturer.
HaveyourLP gas tankfilled byareputable
propane gas dealer and visuallyinspected and
re-qualified at eachfilling.
Never fillthegas tankbeyond80%full.
Have your propanegasdealer checkthe
releasevalve after everyfilling toensure thatit
remainsfreeofdefects.
AlwayskeepLPgas tanksinuprightposition.
Donotstore (oruse)gasolineorother flammable
vapors and liquids in the vicinityofthis gas grill.
An LP gas tankthatis not connected for use must
NOTbestoredonbottomshelfinside cabinetorin
the vicinityofthis or anyother gas grill.
DonotsubjecttheLP gastanktoexcessive heat.
NeverstoreanLP gastank indoors.If you
store yourgas grill in thegarage or other
indoor location, always disconnecttheLPgas
tankfirst, store it safelyoutside.
LP gas tanksmustbe stored outdoors in a
well-ventilatedarea and out of thereach of
children. DisconnectedLPgastanks
must notbe stored in abuilding, garageor
anyother enclosedarea.
Whenyourgas grillis notinusethegas
mustbe turnedoffatthe LP gas tank.
Proper Placement and Clearance of Grill
Never useyour gas grill inagarage, porch, shed,
breezewayor any other enclosed area. Your gasgrill is
to be used outdoors only,at least 24 inches fromthe
backand side ofanycombustible surface. Your
gas grill should not be placed under anysurface
thatwill burn. Do not obstructthe flow of ventilation
andcombustionairaround the gasgrill housing.
This outdoor gas grill is not intended to be installed in
oronrecreational vehicles and/or boats.
The LP gas tankhasaShutOff Valve,
terminating in anLP gassupply tank valve
outlet, that iscompatible with aType 1tank
connectiondevice.TheLP gas tank must
also have asafetyrelief device thathas a
direct communication with the vapor space of
thetank.
Thetanksupplysystemmustbearranged
for vapor withdrawal.
The LP gas tankusedmust have acollar
to protectthetankvalve.

TheRegulator and Hoseassembly mustbe
inspected beforeeachuseofthe grill. Ifthere
is excessive abrasion or wearorif thehose
iscut, itmustbereplaced prior tothegrill
beingusedagain.
Keep thegas Regulator Hoseawayfromhot
grill surfaces and dripping grease.Avoid
unnecessarytwisting ofhose.Visually inspect
hose prior to each use for cuts, cracks,
excessivewear or otherdamage.IftheHose
appearsdamageddonotuse thegas grill,
callour Grill Information Center for a
replacement, at1-800-770-9769.
Never light your gas grill with the Lid closed
or beforechecking toinsure the Burner Tubes
arefully seated over the GasValveOrifices.
Never allow childrentooperateyour grill.Do
notallowchildrentoplaynear your grill.

gas indicatesaserious problemwithyour
gas grill or the LPgas tank.Failure to

NOTE: Thenormalflowof gas through the
Regulatorand Hose Assemblycancreate a
humming sound. Alow volumeof sound is
perfectlynormaland will not interfere with
operationofthe grill. Ifhummingsoundis
loud andexcessiveyou mayneed to purge
airfromthegasline or resetthe Regulator
excess gas flowdevice. Thispurging proce-
dure should be doneeverytimeanew LP
gas tankisconnected to your grill. For help

Put out anyflamewith aClass B fire
extinguisher.
Open Grill Lid.
Get awayfromthe LP gas tank.
Do not trytofix the problemyourself.
Ifodor continuesor youhaveafireyoucannot
extinguish,callyourfiredepartment. Do not call
nearthe LPgastankbecauseyourtelephoneis

Natural GasSafetyInstructions
Your Natural GasGrillisdesigned to operate on
NaturalGasonly,atapressureof7"watercolumn
(W.C.) (1/4 psig or 1.75kpa), regulated at the
residential meter. Check with your gas utility
companyforlocalgaspressureandwithyourlocal
municipalityforbuildingcode requirements. If
your residential gas line pressure has not been
regulatedto 7" W.C.,contact your local gas
utilitycompanyfor professional assistance.
The gaspressure Regulator suppliedwith this
appliancemust beused.ThisRegulatoris set
foranoutletpressureof4" W.C.
Itisrecommended thataShut OffValvebeinstalled
atthe gas supplysource outdoors. Installat apoint
afterthegaspipeexitstheoutsidewallandbeforethe
QuickDisconnect Hose, or install it at the point
beforethegaslinepipingenterstheground. See
Figure 1.
Pipesealing compoundorpipethread taperesistant
totheactionof NaturalGasmustbeusedonall male
pipethreads when makingtheconnection.
Disconnectyourgasgrillfromfuel source when
the gas supplyis being tested at high pressures.
This gas grill andits individual ShutOffValvemust
be disconnected fromthegas supplypipesystem
during anypressure testing ofthat systemat
pressure inexcess of 1/2psi (3.5kpa).
Turn off yourgas grill when the gas supply is
tested at low pressures. The grill must beisolated
fromthegassupplypipesystembyclosingits
individualManual ShutOffValveduringany
pressure testing of the gas supply pipe systemat
pressures equal toor lessthan1/2 psi(3.5kpa).
The QuickDisconnectconnects to a3/8 inchNPT
thread fromgas source.The QuickDisconnect
fitting is ahand operateddevice that automatically
shutsoff the theflowofgasfromthe source when
itis disconnected.
The QuickDisconnectfitting can beinstalled
horizontally,or pointing downward. DO NOTinstall
the fittingwith the opening pointing upward
because thefittingcould collectwater and debris.
TheDust Covers (plasticplugs) providedwith the
Quick Disconnect help keep the open ends
clean while disconnected.
The outdoor connector must be firmly attached to
aridged permanent construction.
The QuickDisconnect MUSTBE installed above
ground.
WARNING: Do not route the 12 foot Quick
Disconnect Hose under adeck.The hose must be
visible and inspected prior toeach grill use.

Ifthelengthoflinerequireddoes notexceed50feet,
use a5/8" O.D. tube. One sizelarger should be used
for lengthsgreaterthan50feet.
Gas pipingmaybecopper tubing, type K orL;
polyethylene plastic tube, with a minimumwall
thickness of.062inch;or standard weight(schedule
40) steel orwroughtironpipe.
Coppertubing must betin-linedifthe gas contains
morethan 0.3gramsof hydrogen sulfide per 100
cubic feetofgas.
Plastictubingis suitableonlyfor outdoor, under-
grounduse.
Gas piping in contact with earth,or any othermate-
rial which may corrode thepiping,must be protected
against corrosioninan approved manner.
Undergroundpiping musthaveaminimumof18"
cover.
All connections and joints must be thoroughlytested
for leaks in accordance withlocal codes and alllisted
procedures inthelatest editionof ANSIZ223.1

Toreduce the chanceof"FLASH-BACK"(see
CAUTION atleft)clean the Burner Tubes and
Burners before fullyassembling your grill.Re-
movetheCotter Pinfromthe rear underside of
each Burner using apair of long nosepliers.
Carefullylift eachBurner upandawayfromthe
GasValveOrifice,thenrefer to Figure 1 and
performoneofthese three cleaning methods:

workswell)into asmall hookas shown
below.Run the hookthroughthe Burner
Tube andinside theBurner severaltimes to
remove anydebris.
Use aBurner Cleaning Brush, or abottle
brushwith aflexiblehandle.Run thebrush
throughthe Burner Tube andinside the
Burnerseveraltimes,removing anydebris.
Use an air hose toforceair through each
Burner Tube. The forced airshouldpass
debrisor obstructions through theBurner
andout the ports.

CAUTION: Spiders and small insects occa-
sionallyspin websor makenests in the grill
burnertubesduringtransitand warehousing.
These webscan lead toagasflowobstruc-
tion which couldresultin afire in and around
theBurner Tubes.Thistypeof fire isknown
as a"FLASH-BACK" andcancause serious
damagetoyour grillandcreate anunsafe
operating condition for theuser.
Although anobstructed Burner Tubeisnotthe
onlycause of"FLASH-BACK", it isthe most
commoncause.
To reducethechanceof "FLASH-BACK", you
must clean the BurnerTubes beforeassem-
blingyourgrill,and atleastonce amonthin
late summeror earlyfallwhen spidersare
most active. Also performthis BurnerTube
cleaningprocedure ifyour grillhas notbeen
usedfor an extendedperiodof time.

to ensurethe Orificeis insideof the Burner Tube

When assembling this grill, we recommendaskingfor

1. Remove cart assemblyfromshippingbox and place
on aflat and levelsurfacesuch asagarage floor.
Peelbackapproximatelytwoinchesoftheprotective
PVCfilmfromthefront, backand bothendsofthe
BottomShelf.Unfold bothpre-assembledCart Legs
toanupright position. See Figure 1.Push down
Cart Legs untilLockingScrewssnapintothenotched
holesoftheCartLeg Brackets.
Makesure that the Cart Side Panels areflush with
theBottomShelf.Use a#2PhillipsHeadscrew driver
totightenbothLockingandPivotScrews for eachCart
Leg.
Install the4Casterstothebottomof theCartLegs
byturning thethreadedCaster Stemclockwise until
it stops. Tightensecurelyusing theCasterWrench
(included inHardwarePack). See Figure2.

in. You should hear aclicking sound and your

eachGas Collector Box. If asparkispresent
the Electrode Tips are properlypositioned.
4.Ifno sparkisseen the SparkGap shownin
Figure15 needs to beadjustedas follows:
Using an adjustable wrench, loosenthe inside
Nutjustuntil the Gas Collector Box can be
maneuveredand turnedupward.
The gap between the SparkElectrode Tip and
Spark receivershouldbeapproximately3/16".
If thegapis widerthan3/16" use apairoflong
nose pliers andgentlysqueeze the Gas

(counterclockwise).Use asoapywatersolution
to checkall connectionsfor leaksbefore

Checking For LPGas or Natural Gas Leaks
Never testforleakswithaflame. Prior to first

To lightyour gas grill bymatch, insert a match into the
ManualLighting Stick andfollow steps1 through 6of
theBasic Lighting Procedures.Then, lightthe match
andplace Manual Lighting Stickthroughthe Lighting
Hole ontheright sideof thegrill. See Figure19.Turn
thenearest MainBurner ControlKnobto theHIGH
setting to release gas. The Burner should light
immediately.
Topurge airfrom yourgas lineand/or
resettheRegulator excess gasflowdevice:
Opening the tankvalveall thewayor too quicklyis
what triggersthe Regulators safetydevice to shut
down gasflow which prevents excessive gasflow to
your grill. Lightingthe Burner farthest fromthe fuel
source everytime will help eliminate air pockets in
theManifold.Thisprocedureshould be done every
time a new LPgastankis connected to your grill:
Never lean over thegrill cookingareawhile
lightingyour gasgrill. Keep yourface and
bodyasafedistance(at least 18inches)
fromtheLightingHoleor Burners, when
lightingyourgrill bymatch.

Turn allControlKnobs to theOFF position.
Turn off the LP gas tankvalve at the tank
valve.
Disconnect Regulator fromLPgas tank.
Let unit stand for 5minutes.
Reconnect RegulatortotheLPgas tank.
Open GrillLidor Side Burner Lid.
Turn theLP gas tankvalve onslowly until
1/4 to 1/2 open.
Light the Burner farthest from fuel source
byturningitsControl Knob toIGN then
pushing in theControlKnob. To light the
Side Burner pushits Control Knob in and
turnto HIGH.

Slideaholdingfork onto eachend ofskewer andtightenthethumbscrew tokeeptheholding
forksin place. Slide thecollar andbushingontothethreadedendoftheskewer.Do nottightenthe
collarthumbscrewuntiltherotisserieis placedintothegrill. Last,Screwthehandle
tothethreadedend of skewerasshown.

Removeallcomponentsfromthe carton.
Attachthemotorbracket onthe outsideoftheleft grillbowlpanel.Align thetwo holesof
the bracket with theholes on thegrill bowl panel. Tighten securelyusing two No.10-24 x 3/4"
UNCscrews, flat washersand nuts provided.
