PRODUCT PRESENTATION
Ladder Barrel is an essential apparatus for any Pilates studio. It promotes exercises to
develop core strength, stretching and flexibility.
The barrel-shaped upholstery is meant to help support the back and shoulders,
allowing the practitioner to bend back and forth, working the deeper muscles of the
abdomen. On the opposite side of the apparatus, there is a ladder connected to the
barrel by a sliding base that adjusts to the length of the leg.
The structure is made of Lyptus solid hardwood, from 100% sustainable and
renewable sources. Upholstered with PE/EVA foam ensures optimum stability and
comfort for the user.

11
DETAILED ASSEMBLY
BARREL ASSEMBLY
With the eyebolt facing downwards and
the holes facing upwards, rest one of the
sides on the base structure to start the
assembly. Use bubble wrap between
parts.
Align the holes in the upholstery with
the holes in the wooden side.
Secure using a FLAT WASHER ZB 1.9 X 7
X 17MM (1/4) and an INTERNAL HEX
SCREW CL 1/4x1½. Use the SHORT
HEXAGONAL ALLEN KEY.
Rest the other wooden side on the base
structure with the eyebolt facing down.
Align the holes on the free upholstery
side with those on the wooden side. To
do this, you will need to move the
entire set previously assembled.

STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY
12
Position the backrest on the base structure.
Align and fit the dowels. Press until it fits
completely.
Turn the whole structure over. Ask
someone else for help if needed. Only in
the three holes closest to the ground,
insert the CL ¼ nut aligning the direction
of the existing slot with the hole where
the INT HEX 1/4X100MM FURNITURE
SCREW enters. Fix it using the 5/32
SHORT HEXAGONAL WRENCH in this
procedure.
Turn the structure over to the other side,
and then repeat the above procedure for
the remaining three holes. After
tightening the screws, place the Ø12MM
HOLE COVER in the holes where the CL ¼
nuts have been inserted. Rest the base
structure on the ground again.
MAKE SURE THE BACKREST IS SECURELY FASTENED. PUT YOUR FEET ON THE BASE OF
THE LADDER BARREL AND TRY TO MOVE THE BACKREST TO ENSURE THERE IS NO
CLEARANCE.

13
STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLING THE BARREL IN THE STRUCTURE
Position the barrel set over the base frame,
inserting the screws into the oblong slots in
the wooden panels.
INSTALLING THE
ADJUSTMENT KNOBS
For each ZB 1/4X3 HEX SCREW, place a
1.9X7X38MM (1/4) WIDE-BRIMMED FLAT
WASHER and a 45X1/4 3P FEMALE KNOB.
BE SURE TO PUT A SCREW IN
EACH SLOT.
APPLY THE NECESSARY
TIGHTENING TO LOCK THE ENTIRE
BARREL STRUCTURE.

STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY
14
Also, check that the fixed eyebolt on the LB
TOP BAR is up. Once fitted and aligned, the
LB Top Bar must be secured using the
INTERNAL HEX HEADLESS SCREWS WITH
CONCAVE TIP ZP 3/8X7/8.
Screw tight on both sides of the LB TOP BAR
to avoid possible displacement.
INSTALLATION AND FIXING OF
THE TOP BAR
Remove the eyebolt, washers and
nut that are loose on the LB TOP
BAR and fit into the backrest.
EYE BOLT INSTALLATION
Insert the following elements into the hole in the LB
TOP BAR in the following order –STAINLESS STEEL
EYEBOLT Ø26X1/4X40, 30MM THREAD, FLAT WASHER
ZB 1.9X7X17MM (1/4), FLAT WASHER ZB 1.9X7X17MM
(1/4) and HEX NUT AT ZB 1/4X8MM. Use the 11MM
COMBINATION WRENCH to tighten up. To help the
eyebolt not rotate, hold an ALLEN WRENCH through
the middle of the eyebolt. For this procedure, use the
HEXAGONAL ALLEN KEY.
MAKE SURE THE DISTANCE
BETWEEN THE END OF THE
BAR AND THE SIDE OF THE
LADDER BARREL IS THE SAME.

15
USER MANUAL USES
AND SETTINGS
SPRINGS (not included)
The side eyebolts of the Ladder Barrel are
intended for use with Yellow springs* (Very
Weak) and hand straps*. The springs can be
identified by the seals with colors. In addition
to identifying it, the seal contains the spring's
serial number, so do not remove it. To attach
the springs to the eyebolts, use a carabiner on
each eyebolt on the end of the spring. The
carabiner is used to attach the spring to the
eyebolts of the appliance. The springs have no
sides, so don't worry about the position in
which the spring will be attached to the
appliance.
ADJUSTING THE BARREL
The Ladder Barrel can be shifted to adapt
to different physical types and skill
levels. To adjust the distance between
the barrel and the backrest, loosen the
four knobs, move the entire barrel
assembly to the desired position. Tighten
the knobs again.
Note: Like any mechanical element, springs are subject to variations in strength and dimensions.
MAKE SURE THE BARREL IS
PROPERLY SECURED FOR PILATES
PRACTICE.
MAKE SURE THE CARABINERS ARE FULLY CLOSED AND IN GOOD CONDITION. USING THE SPRING
COVER HELPS TO PROTECT THE EQUIPMENT AND AVOIDS DIRECT CONTACT OF THE SKIN WITH THE
SPRING.

16
EXTENSION PLATFORM
(not included)
To use, just fit the two existing crossbars
under the platform by the external sides
of the base structure of the Ladder Barrel.
HANDLES (not included)
To be used, each handle must be
attached to the spring through its
half-ring and the carabiner that is on
the spring. They are accessories that
allow the use individually or in pairs.
IF TWO HANDLES ARE USED SIMULTANEOUSLY, BE CAREFUL TO USE
SPRINGS OF THE SAME COLOUR (TENSION).
BEFORE EACH EXERCISE, MAKE SURE THE VELCRO ON THE HANDLES
(IF FITTED) IS FULLY FIXED. IF THE COMPONENT IS WORN OUT,
REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY.

17
MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
THIS MANUAL PROVIDES SOME SUGGESTIONS ON HOW
TO KEEP YOUR APPLIANCE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR
MUCH LONGER. CHECK THE CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT BY CORRECTLY OBSERVING THE
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW AND, IN CASE OF DOUBT,
CONTACT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON 0800 056 2467,
OR BY EMAIL ASSISTENCIA@METALIFE.COM.BR. WE
WILL BE AT YOUR DISPOSAL FOR ANY CLARIFICATIONS.
UPHOLSTERY
THE UPHOLSTERY IS COVERED WITH ECO LEATHER,
WHICH, DESPITE ITS RESISTANT COATING MATERIAL, IS
NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE AND WEARS OUT WITH USE AND
TIME. FOLLOW MAINTENANCE PRECAUTIONS TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE. DIRECT LIGHT IS
DAMAGING AS IT DRIES OUT AND WEAKENS THE
WEAVE AND CAN CAUSE CRACKING ON THE SURFACE.
SO KEEP YOUR EQUIPMENT PROTECTED FROM
SUNLIGHT. FREQUENT MAINTENANCE IS NECESSARY TO
EXTEND SERVICE LIFE.
KEEP YOUR UPHOLSTERY CLEAN BY REMOVING THE
DUST WITH A SOFT AND DRY CLOTH. FOR BEST
SANITATION, USE ONLY A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH
SOAP SOLUTION OR NEUTRAL DETERGENT. WE DO NOT
RECOMMEND THE USE OF REMOVERS, SOLVENTS SUCH
AS BENZINE, BLEACH, ALCOHOL, ABRASIVES,
AMMONIA, POLISH FURNITURE, POLISHES AND OILS, AS
THEY CAN ATTACK THE PROTECTION OF THE ECO
LEATHER, FORMING CRACKS AND STAINS.
WOOD
BECAUSE IT IS A NATURAL RAW MATERIAL, WOODEN
EQUIPMENT CAN PRESENT DIFFERENCES IN THE
TONALITY. WOOD VEINS AND DRAWINGS ARE
UNPREDICTABLE FOR THE SAME REASON. THE
NATURAL AGEING OF THE PARTS IS ACCELERATED BY
THE ACTION OF TEMPERATURE AND NATURAL
HUMIDITY OF THE AIR, AND SMALL CRACKS AND
FISSURES MAY APPEAR. WATER, HEAT, AND NATURAL
OR ARTIFICIAL UV RAYS CAN CAUSE DECOUPLING,
CRACKING, AND DISCOLOURATION OF WOOD AND
VENEER. THEREFORE, THE APPARATUS MUST BE
PROTECTED FROM THE AGENTS MENTIONED ABOVE.
THE MORE PROTECTED AND WELL MAINTAINED, THE
GREATER ITS DURABILITY. IN CASE OF LIQUID SPILLAGE,
CLEAN
IMMEDIATELY AS THE WOOD MAY ABSORB AND STAIN
IRREVERSIBLY. THE WOOD SURFACES ARE DELICATE;
THEY ACCEPT CLEANING WITH DRY FLANNEL OR CLOTH
MOISTENED IN SOLUTION OF NEUTRAL SOAP AND
WATER WITH SUBSEQUENT DRYING. IT IS IMPORTANT
TO DRY IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT THE WOOD FROM
ABSORBING MOISTURE.
PLASTICS
(KNOBS, HANDLES AND TIPS)
TO CLEAN THE PLASTIC PARTS, MOISTEN A CLEAN, SOFT
CLOTH IN A SOLUTION OF WATER AND NEUTRAL
DETERGENT AND WIPE OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE,
THEN DRY.
HANDLES (not included)
THE MAINTENANCE OF HANDLES IS ESSENTIAL TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE AND MAINTAIN HYGIENE.
DO NOT MACHINE WASH. METAL HALF-RINGS CAN
DAMAGE YOUR APPLIANCE. TO SANITIZE THE HANDLES,
MOISTEN A CLEAN, SOFT CLOTH WITH MILD SOAP OR
MILD DETERGENT SOLUTION AND RUN THROUGH THE
HANDLE. RINSE WITH A DAMP CLOTH, THEN DRY.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR BLEACH, THESE PRODUCTS
CAN DAMAGE AND STAIN THE HANDLES. ALSO AVOID
EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT, IT DAMAGES AND
DRIES THE WEAVE OF THE STRAPS. FOR VELCRO
STRAPS, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO BE CLOSED WHEN
NOT IN USE TO AVOID LINT BEING ATTACHED TO THE
HOOKS.
METALS AND FINISHING
ACCUMULATED DUST, HUMIDITY, AND CORROSIVE SEA
AIR ARE THE MAIN FACTORS THAT ACCELERATE METAL
OXIDATION. OUR PRODUCTS ARE MADE FOR INDOOR
USE AND DIRECT EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS IS NOT
RECOMMENDED. THE CLEANING OF METAL SURFACES,
WHETHER IN POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL, ALUMINUM,
NICKEL PLATED, ANODIZED, GALVANIZED, CHROMED
OR PAINTED, MUST BE DONE AT LEAST WEEKLY,
ALWAYS USING A DRY FLANNEL TO COMPLETELY
REMOVE THE DUST.
NEVER USE SOLVENTS SUCH AS BENZINE,
THINNER, ACETONE AND OTHERS, AS WELL
AS ABRASIVE PRODUCTS SUCH AS SOAP,
STEEL SPONGES AND THE LIKE, WHICH
CAN IRREVERSIBLY ATTACK PLASTIC
MATERIALS.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE
RECOMMENDATIONS IN THIS MANUAL BE
OBSERVED AND GIVEN TO THOSE WHO
CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT.
NEVER USE SHARP OR ABRASIVE
OBJECTS ON THE SURFACE OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT.

18
FOR HEAVIER CLEANING, THE RAILS CAN BE CLEANED
WITH A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH ALCOHOL. NEVER
SPILL ALCOHOL DIRECTLY INTO THE EQUIPMENT. AVOID
KNOCKS, WHICH DAMAGE THE SURFACE FINISH,
LEAVING THE METAL APPARENT AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO
OXIDATION. NEVER USE ABRASIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS
STEEL SPONGES, SYNTHETIC SPONGES, CREAM
CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS. NEVER ALLOW ANY LIQUID
TO DRY ON THE PART. IF LIQUIDS ARE SPILLED, DRY
IMMEDIATELY AND REMOVE ANY RESIDUE WITH A
SPONGE MOISTENED IN CLEAN WATER, THEN DRY
THOROUGHLY. FOR THE REMOVAL OF STAINS ON
PAINTED, CHROMED AND NICKEL-PLATED PIECES, WE
RECOMMEND THE USE OF A CLEAN COTTON CLOTH OR
FLANNEL, USING NEUTRAL DETERGENT OR, IN MORE
DIFFICULT CASES, CAR WAX.
IN THE CASE OF CARABINERS, FOR THE REMOVAL OF
STAINS AND POSSIBLE SIGNS OF OXIDATION, THE
AFFECTED PART CAN BE CLEANED WITH A CLOTH
SOAKED IN VINEGAR (KITCHEN). LEAVE THE
CARABINERS IMMERSED IN WHITE VINEGAR FOR THREE
HOURS AND POLISH WITH A STEEL SPONGE. THIS
PROCEDURE DOES NOT RESTORE THE CARABINERS, IT
ONLY REMOVES THE OXIDIZED LAYER, LEAVING THEM
CLEANER, MORE BEAUTIFUL AND PROLONGING THEIR
SERVICE LIFE. CARABINERS THAT UNDERGO THIS
PROCESS WILL LOOK DARKER THAN THE ORIGINAL
CARABINER. SEE BELOW THE LIST SHOWING THE
MATERIAL AND FINISH OF EACH PART OF THE LADDER
BARREL:
-
STAINLESS STEEL –EYEBOLTS;
-
LYPTUS HARDWOOD STRUCTURE.
