.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM AT HAND AND IDENTIFY THEM
ON THE SIDE AND IN THE TABLE ON PAGE 6 BEFORE STARTING
ASSEMBLY.

10
DETAILED ASSEMBLY
Repeat the procedure on the other
pedal. Position the upholstery with
the side slot facing the center of
the equipment. Secure it using the
INT HEX SCREW CH ZP 1/4x1 and
tighten up with the SHORT
HEXAGONAL ALLEN WRENCH
5/32.
ASSEMBLING THE UPHOLSTERY
Align the seat upholstery with the wooden
structure, so the holes match. Secure it
using the INT HEX SCREW CL ZP 1/4x1.1/2
and FLAT WASHER ZB 1.9x7x17mm (1/4).
Tighten up with the SHORT HEXAGONAL
ALLEN WRENCH 3/16.
Secure the pedal upholstery using
INT HEX SCREW CH ZP 1/4x1 and
tighten up with the SHORT
HEXAGONAL ALLEN KEY 5/32
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
UPHOLSTERY HAS A LEFT AND RIGHT
SIDE. FIT THE UPHOLSTERY ONTO
THE PEDAL LOCK SO THAT THE SIDE
OPENING FACES THE CENTER OF THE
EQUIPMENT.

11
FITTING OF CANES
Before attaching the canes, unscrew
the threaded knob and pull the
retractable knob so that the cane can
freely enter the bracket. The canes
must be fitted to the cane holders
with the handles facing the pedals.
Release the retractable handle until
it snaps into one of the cane
adjustments. Reattach the threaded
knob and tighten up until the cane no
longer moves. Do the same
procedure on both canes.
THE MEETING OF THE RETRACTABLE KNOB WITH ONE OF THE HOLES WILL CAUSE IT TO
PARTIALLY FIT. MAKE SURE THE KNOB FULLY FITS INTO ONE OF THE HOLES IN THE CANE.
WATCH YOUR FINGERS WHEN HANDLING THE KNOBS.

12
USER MANUAL
UNLOCKING THE PEDALS
For independent use of the pedals,
loosen the knob and slide the lock until
it reaches its limit, tighten the knob to
prevent the lock from swinging. Do this
operation with the pedals properly
supported or with the springs engaged.
USES AND SETTINGS
LOCKING THE PEDALS
The Step Chair features pedals with
independent movements, which can be
locked to act as a single motion base. To
attach or detach the pedals, use the lock
on the bottom of the pedal upholstery.
Loosen the knob, align the pedals, and
slide the lock until it finds the groove
under the other pedal's upholstery,
tightening the knob to secure once the
lock reaches its limit.
CAUTION: THE PEDAL IS ONE OF THE MOVING PARTS OF THE EQUIPMENT, WHICH IS TENSIONED BY
SPRINGS. IMPROPER USE MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS.

13
SPRINGS ON PEDALS
To use the springs, make sure they are
engaged with the hooks on the pedals and
the spring adjustment support. Note that,
when attaching the spring eyebolt in the
adjustment, the pedal goes up.
Different combinations of springs and
height placements increase or reduce
the intensity of strength exerted in the
equipment. If you do not use all the
springs, place them on the support on
the pedals.
ADJUSTING THE SPRING FASTENER
The height of the springs on the back of
the Step Chair can be adjusted using
the spring adjustment support. There
are four levels that can be adjusted to
get the proper tensioning for each
exercise.
LIKE ANY MECHANICAL ELEMENT, SPRINGS ARE
SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS IN STRENGTH AND
DIMENSIONS.
THE STEP CHAIR COMES EQUIPPED WITH A PAIR OF RED (VERY STRONG) AND BLUE (STRONG) SPRINGS. THE
SPRINGS CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY THE SEALS WITH COLORS. IN ADDITION TO IDENTIFYING IT, THE SEAL
CONTAINS THE SPRING'S SERIAL NUMBER, SO DO NOT REMOVE IT.

14
SPRINGS IN THE EYEBOLTS (NOT INCLUDED)
The side eyebolts of the Step Chair are
intended for use with Yellow springs
(Very Weak) and hand handles (item
not included).
It is necessary to remove the canes to
use the side eyebolts. To attach the
springs to the eyebolts, use a carabiner
(not included) on each eyebolt on the
end of the spring.
HANDLES (NOT INCLUDED)
They are accessories that allow the use individually
or in pairs. If two handles are used simultaneously,
be careful to use springs of the same color (tension).
Before each exercise, make sure the Velcro on the
handles (if fitted) is fully fixed.
If the component is worn out, replace it immediately.
MAKE SURE THE CARABINERS ARE FULLY CLOSED AND IN GOOD CONDITION. DO NOT USE THE PEDAL
SPRINGS IN THE EYEBOLT.
The carabiner is used to attach the spring to the
eyebolts of the appliance. The springs have no sides, so
don't worry about the position in which the spring will
be attached to the appliance.
Note: Like any mechanical element, springs are subject
to variations in strength and dimensions.
IF TWO HANDLES ARE USED SIMULTANEOUSLY, BE CAREFUL TO USE SPRINGS OF THE SAME COLOUR
(TENSION).

15
Once the cane is at the height, tighten
the threaded knob. This grip will
prevent any movement of the canes. Do
this procedure on both canes and be
careful to leave them at the same
height.
CANES
The canes have 6 (six) height
adjustments. There are two knobs that
adjust the canes. Loosen the threaded
knob, pull the retractable knob and slide
the cane until you find the hole of the
desired height.
THE MEETING OF THE RETRACTABLE
KNOB WITH ONE OF THE HOLES WILL
CAUSE IT TO PARTIALLY FIT. MAKE SURE
THE KNOB FULLY FITS INTO ONE OF THE
HOLES IN THE CANE.
REMEMBER TO LOOSEN THE THREADED
KNOB WHENEVER YOU CHANGE THE
HEIGHT OF THE CANES AGAIN.

16
MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
THIS MANUAL PROVIDES SOME SUGGESTIONS ON HOW
TO KEEP YOUR APPLIANCE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR
MUCH LONGER. CHECK THE CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT BY CORRECTLY OBSERVING THE
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW AND, IN CASE OF DOUBT,
CONTACT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON 0800 056 2467,
OR BY EMAIL ASSISTENCIA@METALIFE.COM.BR. WE
WILL BE AT YOUR DISPOSAL FOR ANY CLARIFICATIONS.
UPHOLSTERY
THE UPHOLSTERY IS COVERED WITH ECO LEATHER,
WHICH, DESPITE ITS RESISTANT COATING MATERIAL, IS
NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE AND WEARS OUT WITH USE AND
TIME. FOLLOW MAINTENANCE PRECAUTIONS TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE. DIRECT LIGHT IS
DAMAGING AS IT DRIES OUT AND WEAKENS THE WEAVE
AND CAN CAUSE CRACKING ON THE SURFACE. SO KEEP
YOUR EQUIPMENT PROTECTED FROM SUNLIGHT.
FREQUENT MAINTENANCE IS NECESSARY TO EXTEND
SERVICE LIFE.
KEEP YOUR UPHOLSTERY CLEAN BY REMOVING THE
DUST WITH A SOFT AND DRY CLOTH. FOR BEST
SANITATION, USE ONLY A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH
SOAP SOLUTION OR NEUTRAL DETERGENT. WE DO NOT
RECOMMEND THE USE OF REMOVERS, SOLVENTS SUCH
AS BENZINE, BLEACH, ALCOHOL, ABRASIVES,
AMMONIA, POLISH FURNITURE, POLISHES AND OILS, AS
THEY CAN ATTACK THE PROTECTION OF THE ECO
LEATHER, FORMING CRACKS AND STAINS.
WOOD
BECAUSE IT IS A NATURAL RAW MATERIAL, WOODEN
EQUIPMENT CAN PRESENT DIFFERENCES IN THE
TONALITY. WOOD VEINS AND DRAWINGS ARE
UNPREDICTABLE FOR THE SAME REASON. THE
NATURAL AGEING OF THE PARTS IS ACCELERATED BY
THE ACTION OF TEMPERATURE AND NATURAL
HUMIDITY OF THE AIR, AND SMALL CRACKS AND
FISSURES MAY APPEAR. WATER, HEAT, AND NATURAL
OR ARTIFICIAL UV RAYS CAN CAUSE DECOUPLING,
CRACKING, AND DISCOLOURATION OF WOOD AND
VENEER. THEREFORE, THE APPARATUS MUST BE
PROTECTED FROM THE AGENTS MENTIONED ABOVE.
THE MORE PROTECTED AND WELL MAINTAINED, THE
GREATER ITS DURABILITY. IN CASE OF LIQUID SPILLAGE,
CLEAN
IMMEDIATELY AS THE WOOD MAY ABSORB AND STAIN
IRREVERSIBLY. THE WOOD SURFACES ARE DELICATE;
THEY ACCEPT CLEANING WITH DRY FLANNEL OR CLOTH
MOISTENED IN SOLUTION OF NEUTRAL SOAP AND
WATER WITH SUBSEQUENT DRYING. IT IS IMPORTANT
TO DRY IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT THE WOOD FROM
ABSORBING MOISTURE.
PLASTICS
(KNOBS, HANDLES AND TIPS)
TO CLEAN THE PLASTIC PARTS, MOISTEN A CLEAN,
SOFT CLOTH IN A SOLUTION OF WATER AND NEUTRAL
DETERGENT AND WIPE OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE,
THEN DRY.
HANDLES (not included)
THE MAINTENANCE OF HANDLES IS ESSENTIAL TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE AND MAINTAIN
HYGIENE. DO NOT MACHINE WASH. METAL HALF-
RINGS CAN DAMAGE YOUR APPLIANCE. TO SANITIZE
THE HANDLES, MOISTEN A CLEAN, SOFT CLOTH WITH
MILD SOAP OR MILD DETERGENT SOLUTION AND RUN
THROUGH THE HANDLE. RINSE WITH A DAMP CLOTH,
THEN DRY.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR BLEACH, THESE PRODUCTS
CAN DAMAGE AND STAIN THE HANDLES. ALSO AVOID
EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT, IT DAMAGES AND
DRIES THE WEAVE OF THE STRAPS. FOR VELCRO STRAPS,
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO BE CLOSED WHEN NOT IN USE
TO AVOID LINT BEING ATTACHED TO THE HOOKS.
METALS AND FINISHING
ACCUMULATED DUST, HUMIDITY, AND CORROSIVE SEA
AIR ARE THE MAIN FACTORS THAT ACCELERATE METAL
OXIDATION. OUR PRODUCTS ARE MADE FOR INDOOR
USE AND DIRECT EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS IS NOT
RECOMMENDED. THE CLEANING OF METAL SURFACES,
WHETHER IN POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL, ALUMINUM,
NICKEL PLATED, ANODIZED, GALVANIZED, CHROMED
OR PAINTED, MUST BE DONE AT LEAST WEEKLY,
ALWAYS USING A DRY FLANNEL TO COMPLETELY
REMOVE THE DUST.
NEVER USE SOLVENTS SUCH AS BENZINE,
THINNER, ACETONE AND OTHERS, AS WELL
AS ABRASIVE PRODUCTS SUCH AS SOAP,
STEEL SPONGES AND THE LIKE, WHICH CAN
IRREVERSIBLY ATTACK PLASTIC MATERIALS.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE
RECOMMENDATIONS IN THIS MANUAL BE
OBSERVED AND GIVEN TO THOSE WHO
CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT.
NEVER USE SHARP OR ABRASIVE
OBJECTS ON THE SURFACE OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT.

17
FOR HEAVIER CLEANING, THE RAILS CAN BE CLEANED
WITH A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH ALCOHOL. NEVER
SPILL ALCOHOL DIRECTLY INTO THE EQUIPMENT. AVOID
KNOCKS, WHICH DAMAGE THE SURFACE FINISH,
LEAVING THE METAL APPARENT AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO
OXIDATION. NEVER USE ABRASIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS
STEEL SPONGES, SYNTHETIC SPONGES, CREAM
CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS. NEVER ALLOW ANY LIQUID TO
DRY ON THE PART. IF LIQUIDS ARE SPILLED, DRY
IMMEDIATELY AND REMOVE ANY RESIDUE WITH A
SPONGE MOISTENED IN CLEAN WATER, THEN DRY
THOROUGHLY. FOR THE REMOVAL OF STAINS ON
PAINTED, CHROMED AND NICKEL-PLATED PIECES, WE
RECOMMEND THE USE OF A CLEAN COTTON CLOTH OR
FLANNEL, USING NEUTRAL DETERGENT OR, IN MORE
DIFFICULT CASES, CAR WAX.
IN THE CASE OF CARABINERS, FOR THE REMOVAL OF
STAINS AND POSSIBLE SIGNS OF OXIDATION, THE
AFFECTED PART CAN BE CLEANED WITH A CLOTH
SOAKED IN VINEGAR (KITCHEN). LEAVE THE
CARABINERS IMMERSED IN WHITE VINEGAR FOR THREE
HOURS AND POLISH WITH A STEEL SPONGE. THIS
PROCEDURE DOES NOT RESTORE THE CARABINERS, IT
ONLY REMOVES THE OXIDIZED LAYER, LEAVING THEM
CLEANER, MORE BEAUTIFUL AND PROLONGING THEIR
SERVICE LIFE. CARABINERS THAT UNDERGO THIS
PROCESS WILL LOOK DARKER THAN THE ORIGINAL
CARABINER. SEE BELOW THE LIST SHOWING THE
MATERIAL AND FINISH OF EACH PART OF THE STEP
CHAIR:
-
STAINLESS STEEL –EYEBOLTS;
-
NICKEL-PLATED –SPRINGS;
-
GALVANIZED –CARABINERS;
-
PAINTED –CANE HOLDER, PEDALS, PEDAL SHAFT
SUPPORT, CANES, SPRING ADJUSTMENT SUPPORT.
