PRODUCT PRESENTATION
The equipment has a structure built in carbon steel and eyebolts for fitting stainless
steel springs. It also has 21 eyes for adjusting the springs and three points for
height adjustment of the Support Bar.
The Reformer Tower comprises two pieces of equipment traditionally used in
Pilates classes: the classic Reformer and the Wall Unit. According to Letícia Toledo,
technical coordinator at Pilates StudioFit, the novelty focuses mainly on the body's
natural movements, obtaining significant benefits in a regular practice.

USER MANUAL
Preparing the Reformer for use with the Tower
Use in Reformer mode
The Tower together with the
Reformer allows you to combine the
Reformer and Wall Unit exercises. In
this case, make the adjustments in
the Reformer's carriage (springs and
stopper) and check if there is a need
to use the ropes. If they are not
used, remove them so as not to
hinder the movement of the
carriage.
Use with Mat Converter
Adding the Converter Mat creates
a stable surface to work with the
Tower.

DETAIL ON HOW TO PLACE THE
SAFETY CLIP LOCK THE FRAME.
Support Bar
The Support Bar has 3 (three) height
settings, which can be adjusted
according to the size of the person
or the type of exercise. To adjust,
just fasten in the direction indicated
in the figure, until the pins are
released from the metallic structure,
position the bar at the new desired
height and secure the Grab Bar with
the Safety Clip.
Make sure the Reformer hook block
supports are in the lowest position so
as not to prevent the bar from
moving. When not in use, the Support
Bar must be removed from the Tower
to facilitate and not hinder the use of
other accessories. When using the
Support Bar, the safety strap must
always be used. Make sure the
carabiner is fully closed and in good
condition.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE SUPPORT BAR, AS IT IS ONE OF
THE MOVING PARTS OF THE EQUIPMENT THAT WILL
BE TENSIONED BY SPRINGS. IMPROPER USE MAY
CAUSE ACCIDENTS. USE THE SAFETY STRAP. A
TRAINED PROFESSIONAL MUST KEEP ONE HAND ON
THE BAR AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS.
!

15
Safety Strap
To use the safety strap, thread one ring
through the other around the top beam of
the tower, then pull to tighten up. The end of
the strap closest to the links must be on the
beam. At the end that is free, a carabiner
must be hooked and it must go through the
Grab Bar and fasten it to one of the
adjustment straps that the safety strap has,
according to the need stipulated by the
instructor.
Handles
To be used, each strap must be attached to
the spring through its half-ring and the
carabiner that is on the spring. They are
accessories that allow the use individually or
in pairs.
!
BEFORE EACH EXERCISE, MAKE SURE THE VELCRO ON THE HANDLES (IF FITTED)
IS FULLY FIXED. IF THE STRAPS ARE WORN OUT, REPLACE THEM IMMEDIATELY.
!
IF TWO HANDLES ARE USED SIMULTANEOUSLY, BE CAREFUL TO USE SPRINGS
OF THE SAME COLOUR (TENSION) AND PLACE THEM IN EYEBOLTS OF THE
SAME HEIGHT.

16
Springs
The Tower comes equipped with a pair of blue
(strong), white (medium), black (weak) and yellow
(very weak) springs. The springs can be identified by
the seals with colors. In addition to identifying it, the
seal contains the spring's serial number, so it must not
be removed, otherwise the warranty will be forfeited.
Use a carabiner on each eyebolt of the
spring end. The carabiner is used to attach
the spring to the eyebolts of the Tower,
Support Bar and handles. The springs have
no sides, so don't worry about the position
in which the spring be attached to the
appliance.
Roll-Down Bar
The Roll-Down Bar must be used with the aid of two
springs that must have the same color (tension) and
be positioned in eyebolts of the same height. Attach
the carabiner to the end of each spring, then to the
eyebolts of the Roll-Down Bar. Never expose your
head over the bar during activities or when
monitoring them.
!
MAKE SURE THE CARABINERS ARE FULLY CLOSED AND IN GOOD
CONDITION.
!
LIKE ANY MECHANICAL ELEMENT, SPRINGS ARE SUBJECT TO
VARIATIONS IN STRENGTH AND DIMENSIONS.
!
MAKE SURE THE CARABINERS ARE SECURELY CLOSED AND
LOCKED.

MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
THIS MANUAL PROVIDES SOME SUGGESTIONS ON HOW
TO KEEP YOUR APPLIANCE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR
MUCH LONGER. CHECK THE CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT BY CORRECTLY OBSERVING THE
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW AND, IN CASE OF DOUBT,
CONTACT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON 0800 056 2467,
OR BY EMAIL ASSISTENCIA@METALIFE.COM.BR. WE
WILL BE AT YOUR DISPOSAL FOR ANY CLARIFICATIONS.
UPHOLSTERY
THE UPHOLSTERY IS COVERED WITH ECO LEATHER,
WHICH, DESPITE ITS RESISTANT COATING MATERIAL, IS
NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE AND WEARS OUT WITH USE AND
TIME. FOLLOW MAINTENANCE PRECAUTIONS TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE. DIRECT LIGHT IS
DAMAGING AS IT DRIES OUT AND WEAKENS THE
WEAVE AND CAN CAUSE CRACKING ON THE SURFACE.
SO KEEP YOUR EQUIPMENT PROTECTED FROM
SUNLIGHT. FREQUENT MAINTENANCE IS NECESSARY TO
EXTEND SERVICE LIFE.
KEEP YOUR UPHOLSTERY CLEAN BY REMOVING THE
DUST WITH A SOFT AND DRY CLOTH. FOR BEST
SANITATION, USE ONLY A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH
SOAP SOLUTION OR NEUTRAL DETERGENT. WE DO NOT
RECOMMEND THE USE OF REMOVERS, SOLVENTS SUCH
AS BENZINE, BLEACH, ALCOHOL, ABRASIVES,
AMMONIA, POLISH FURNITURE, POLISHES AND OILS, AS
THEY CAN ATTACK THE PROTECTION OF THE ECO
LEATHER, FORMING CRACKS AND STAINS.
WOOD
BECAUSE IT IS A NATURAL RAW MATERIAL, WOODEN
EQUIPMENT CAN PRESENT DIFFERENCES IN THE
TONALITY. WOOD VEINS AND DRAWINGS ARE
UNPREDICTABLE FOR THE SAME REASON. THE
NATURAL AGEING OF THE PARTS IS ACCELERATED BY
THE ACTION OF TEMPERATURE AND NATURAL
HUMIDITY OF THE AIR, AND SMALL CRACKS AND
FISSURES MAY APPEAR. WATER, HEAT, AND NATURAL
OR ARTIFICIAL UV RAYS CAN CAUSE DECOUPLING,
CRACKING, AND DISCOLOURATION OF WOOD AND
VENEER. THEREFORE, THE APPARATUS MUST BE
PROTECTED FROM THE AGENTS MENTIONED ABOVE.
THE MORE PROTECTED AND WELL MAINTAINED, THE
GREATER ITS DURABILITY. IN CASE OF LIQUID SPILLAGE,
CLEAN
IMMEDIATELY AS THE WOOD MAY ABSORB AND STAIN
IRREVERSIBLY. THE WOOD SURFACES ARE DELICATE;
THEY ACCEPT CLEANING WITH DRY FLANNEL OR CLOTH
MOISTENED IN SOLUTION OF NEUTRAL SOAP AND
WATER WITH SUBSEQUENT DRYING. IT IS IMPORTANT
TO DRY IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT THE WOOD FROM
ABSORBING MOISTURE.
PLASTICS
(KNOBS, HANDLES AND TIPS)
TO CLEAN THE PLASTIC PARTS, MOISTEN A CLEAN, SOFT
CLOTH IN A SOLUTION OF WATER AND NEUTRAL
DETERGENT AND WIPE OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE,
THEN DRY.
HANDLES (not included)
THE MAINTENANCE OF HANDLES IS ESSENTIAL TO
PROLONG THEIR SERVICE LIFE AND MAINTAIN HYGIENE.
DO NOT MACHINE WASH. METAL HALF-RINGS CAN
DAMAGE YOUR APPLIANCE. TO SANITIZE THE HANDLES,
MOISTEN A CLEAN, SOFT CLOTH WITH MILD SOAP OR
MILD DETERGENT SOLUTION AND RUN THROUGH THE
HANDLE. RINSE WITH A DAMP CLOTH, THEN DRY.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR BLEACH, THESE PRODUCTS
CAN DAMAGE AND STAIN THE HANDLES. ALSO AVOID
EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT, IT DAMAGES AND
DRIES THE WEAVE OF THE STRAPS. FOR VELCRO
STRAPS, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO BE CLOSED WHEN
NOT IN USE TO AVOID LINT BEING ATTACHED TO THE
HOOKS.
METALS AND FINISHING
ACCUMULATED DUST, HUMIDITY, AND CORROSIVE SEA
AIR ARE THE MAIN FACTORS THAT ACCELERATE METAL
OXIDATION. OUR PRODUCTS ARE MADE FOR INDOOR
USE AND DIRECT EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS IS NOT
RECOMMENDED. THE CLEANING OF METAL SURFACES,
WHETHER IN POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL, ALUMINUM,
NICKEL PLATED, ANODIZED, GALVANIZED, CHROMED
OR PAINTED, MUST BE DONE AT LEAST WEEKLY,
ALWAYS USING A DRY FLANNEL TO COMPLETELY
REMOVE THE DUST.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE
RECOMMENDATIONS IN THIS MANUAL BE
OBSERVED AND GIVEN TO THOSE WHO
CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT.
NEVER USE SHARP OR ABRASIVE
OBJECTS ON THE SURFACE OF YOUR
EQUIPMENT.
NEVER USE SOLVENTS SUCH AS BENZINE,
THINNER, ACETONE AND OTHERS, AS
WELL AS ABRASIVE PRODUCTS SUCH AS
SOAP, STEEL SPONGES AND THE LIKE,
WHICH CAN IRREVERSIBLY ATTACK
PLASTIC MATERIALS.

18
FOR HEAVIER CLEANING, THE RAILS CAN BE CLEANED
WITH A CLOTH MOISTENED WITH ALCOHOL. NEVER
SPILL ALCOHOL DIRECTLY INTO THE EQUIPMENT. AVOID
KNOCKS, WHICH DAMAGE THE SURFACE FINISH,
LEAVING THE METAL APPARENT AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO
OXIDATION. NEVER USE ABRASIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS
STEEL SPONGES, SYNTHETIC SPONGES, CREAM
CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS. NEVER ALLOW ANY LIQUID TO
DRY ON THE PART. IF LIQUIDS ARE SPILLED, DRY
IMMEDIATELY AND REMOVE ANY RESIDUE WITH A
SPONGE MOISTENED IN CLEAN WATER, THEN DRY
THOROUGHLY. FOR THE REMOVAL OF STAINS ON
PAINTED, CHROMED AND NICKEL-PLATED PIECES, WE
RECOMMEND THE USE OF A CLEAN COTTON CLOTH OR
FLANNEL, USING NEUTRAL DETERGENT OR, IN MORE
DIFFICULT CASES, CAR WAX.
IN THE CASE OF CARABINERS, FOR THE REMOVAL OF
STAINS AND POSSIBLE SIGNS OF OXIDATION, THE
AFFECTED PART CAN BE CLEANED WITH A CLOTH
SOAKED IN VINEGAR (KITCHEN). LEAVE THE CARABINERS
IMMERSED IN WHITE VINEGAR FOR THREE HOURS AND
POLISH WITH A STEEL SPONGE. THIS PROCEDURE DOES
NOT RESTORE THE CARABINERS, IT ONLY REMOVES THE
OXIDIZED LAYER, LEAVING THEM CLEANER, MORE
BEAUTIFUL AND PROLONGING THEIR SERVICE LIFE.
CARABINERS THAT UNDERGO THIS PROCESS WILL LOOK
DARKER THAN THE ORIGINAL CARABINER. SEE BELOW
THE LIST SHOWING THE MATERIAL AND FINISH OF EACH
PART OF THE REFORMER TOWER:
-
STAINLESS STEEL –EYEBOLTS;
-
NICKEL-PLATED –SPRINGS;
-
GALVANIZED –CARABINERS;
-
PAINTED –TOWER STRUCTURE.
