Ricaricare ER300
Cavo di ricarica USB
Prima dell’utilizzo, controllare che ER300 sia carico.
Il pacco batteria Li-Ion interno é ricaricato con il cavo USB; quan-
do la carica è completa, l’icona della batteria visualizzerà 3 barre
.
Inserite il cavo USB in dotazione nella presa micro USB (“USB In”)
dell’ER300 e l’altra estremità del cavo alla sorgente di alimenta-
zione.
Se il selettore Li-/AA é in posizione ‘Li’, l’indicatore CHARGE si
accenderà quando il cavo di ricarica è inserito.
Durante la fase di carica l’icona della batteria sul display LCD lam-
peggia. Quando la carica è completa, l’icona della batteria smet-
terà di lampeggiare e avrà 3 barre.
Per una ricarica completa tramite cavo USB ci vogliono approssi-
mativamente 5,30 ore.
Pacco batteria ricaricabile
Il pacco batteria in dotazione è di tipo Li-Ion 2200 mAh 3,7V e si
trova nel vano batteria. Si ricarica tramite:
• manovella
• pannello solare esponendo ER300 alla luce del sole
• cavo USB
Attenzione:
• Utilizzate solo pacchi batteria originali Midland.
• Non cercate di utilizzare batterie alcaline o pacchi batteria non
originali: potrebbe fuoriuscire liquido e quindi danneggiare ER300.

Ricarica con dinamo
Girando la dinamo sul retro, il pacco batteria Li-ion si ricarica. L’in-
dicatore rimarrà acceso durante la carica. La carica che otterre-
te dipende dalla velocità con cui girate la manovella e per quanto
tempo lo fate. L’icona della batteria lampeggerà sul display, e una
volta completata la carica, smetterà di lampeggiare e l’icona della
batteria mostrerà 3 barre .
Se girate la dinamo per un minuto, otterrete circa 9 minuti di cari-
ca per utilizzare ER300.
Ricarica con pannello solare
Collocate ER300 in modo che il pannello solare sia esposto alla
luce diretta del sole. Un’ora di esposizione diretta al sole in condi-
zioni ottimali dà fino a 30 minuti di ricarica del dispositivo.
L’icona della batteria lampeggerà sul display, e una volta completa-
ta la carica, smetterà di lampeggiare e mostrerà 3 barre .
L’indicatore rimarrà acceso durante la carica.
Funzionamento con batterie AA
ER300 funziona anche con 6 batterie AA (non incluse). Per uti-
lizzare ER300 con le 6 batterie, spostate il selettore posto sotto la
protezione in gomma nella posizione “AA”.
Attenzione: Se non utilizzate ER300 per un certo periodo, consiglia-
mo di rimuovere le batterie dall’apparato.
Ricaricare dispositivi esterni
Telefoni cellulari e dispositivi alimentati tramite USB possono es-
sere ricaricati con il cavo di ricarica fornito con ER300. Collegate
il cavo alla presa “USB OUT” posta sul lato di ER300. Se il dispo-
sitivo è acceso, si spegnerà automaticamente ed inizierà a caricare.

Funzionamento
Accensione/spegnimento e selezione banda
1. Per accendere ER300, premete il tasto BAND. Premetelo
di nuovo per scorrere tra AM/FM.
2. Premetelo per 2 secondi per spegnere ER300.
Regolazione del volume
Utilizzate i tasti UP/DOWN/VOLUME per regolare il volume.
Sintonizzare ER300
Premete il tasto BAND per scorrere tra AM e FM.
Una volta selezionata la banda desiderata, potete sintonizzare la
stazione radio tramite i tasti UP/DOWN/VOLUME. Per una ri-
cezione ottimale dell’FM, dovete estendere l’antenna telescopica
e ruotarla finchè ottenete una buona ricezione.
Impostare l’ora
Tenete premuto il tasto MENU e selezionate le 24 o le 12 ore con
UP/DOWN/VOLUME.
Premete MENU per regolare l’ora, premetelo di nuovo per re-
golare i minuti.
Retroilluminazione
ER300 ha 3 diversi tipi di retroilluminazione:
• OFF: retroilluminazione sempre spenta.
• ON: retroilluminazione sempre accesa.
• 5: ogni volta che si preme un tasto, la retroilluminazione si ac-
cende per 5 secondi.

Torcia LED
Si possono impostare 2 tipi di luminosità della torcia:
• Debole: alla prima pressione del tasto la luce della torcia
è lieve.
• Luminosa: alla seconda pressione del tasto la luminosità è
più potente.
Funzione SOS con codice Morse
Per abilitare la funzione SOS, premete il tasto icona 3 volte.
Il codice Morse SOS é: 3 lampeggi brevi, 3 lampeggi lunghi e 3
lampeggi brevi.
Per disabilitare la funzione, premete il tasto .
Richiamo a ultrasuoni per cani
Il richiamo a ultrasuoni è utile per squadre di ricerca e soccorso in
situazioni d’emergenza, per esempio in caso di persone disperse.
Per abilitare questa funzione, tenete premuto il tasto per 2
secondi. L’icona si accenderà nell’angolo destro superiore del
display.
Per disabilitare questa funzione, premete qualsiasi tasto.
Jack per auricolari
Potete collegare auricolari opzionali con presa 3,5mm stereo (an-
che auricolare per smartphone).

Powering Your ER300
USB Charge Cable
Before the ER300 is used, the internal Li-Ion rechargeable
battery pack should be charged with the USB charge cable until
the battery indicator icon indicates a full charge. To charge the
ER300 with the USB cable insert the USB charge cable into a
USB power source and plug the micro USB connector into the

port labeled “USB In” on the side of the device. If the Li-/AA se-
lector is in ‘Li’ position, the CHARGE indicator light will be lit
when the USB charge cable is plugged in. The battery icon on the
LCD will flash as the battery charges. When the Li-ion battery
has reached full charge, the battery icon will stop flashing and will
have 3 bars . It will take approximately 5.30 hours to recharge
a completely depleted battery pack using the USB charge cable.
Rechargeable Battery
The included rechargeable battery is located in the battery com-
partment and is charged by turning the hand crank, exposing the
solar panel to sunlight, or by using the USB cable to attach to a
USB power source. The battery is specified as 3.7 VDC, 2200
mAh, lithium ion (Li-ion).
Warning:
• Only use Midland’s Li-ion battery pack.
• Do not attempt to charge alkaline batteries or any battery packs
other than the ones indicated in this manual. This could cause lea-
kage and damage to the device.
Dynamo Power
Turning the hand crank charges the built-in Li-ion battery pack. To
charge the ER300 using the hand crank, start turning the crank.
The indicator light will be lit while the unit is being cranked. Speed
of cranking and length of time cranked will determine the charge
of the Li-ion battery. The battery icon on the LCD will flash as the
battery charges. When the Li-ion battery has reached full charge,
the battery icon will stop flashing and will have 3 bars .

One minute of cranking gives up to 9 minutes approx. of the de-
vice use time.
Solar Panel Charge
Place the ER300 where the solar panel is exposed to direct sunli-
ght. One hour of solar charging in optimal sunlight conditions gives
up to 30 minutes of ER300 use time. The battery icon on the
LCD will flash as the battery charges. When the Li-ion battery
has reached full charge, the battery icon will stop flashing and will
have 3 bars.
The indicator light will be lit while the unit is charging.
AA Battery Operation
The ER300 is designed to operate with 6 x AA batteries (not in-
cluded). To power the ER300 with its AA batteries, flip the power
source switch to the “AA” position. Warning: For long-term sto-
rage, it is recommended that the AA batteries be removed to pre-
vent leakage and damage to the ER300.
Charging External Devices
Mobile phones and USB-powered devices can be charged using
the USB charge cable for that device. Connect the charge cable
to the USB Outlet port on the side of the ER300 labeled “USB
Out”. If ER300 is on it will automatically turn o and go into char-
ge mode.

Turning the ER300 On/O & Selecting a Band
To turn it on, press the BAND button. To cycle through AM or FM
press the BAND button again.
To turn it OFF, press and hold the BAND button for 2 seconds.
Adjusting the Volume
To adjust the volume, press the UP/DOWN/VOLUME control
buttons.
Tuning the Radio
Press the BAND button to cycle through AM or FM.
Once you are on the desired radio band, you can tune to the de-
sired station with the TUNE UP/DOWN buttons. For best FM
reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna and rotate until
reception is clear.
Setting the Clock
To set the clock, keep pressed the MENU button and select the
24 hour or 12 hour clock with the TUNE buttons.
Press the MENU button to adjust the time and again to adjust
the minutes.
Backlight Option
The ER300 has 3 backlight settings:
• OFF: The backlight will always be o.
• ON: The backlight will always be on.
• 5: The backlight will turn on for 5 seconds when a button is pres-
sed then turn o.

The ER300 has 2 flashlight brightness settings:
• Dim: The first press of the flashlight button will enable the
dim setting.
• Bright: The second press of the flashlight button will enable
the bright setting.
SOS Morse Code Flashlight Beacon
To enable the SOS feature, press the flashlight button 3 times.
The SOS Morse Code is: 3 short flashes, 3 long flashes, and 3
short flashes.
To turn o the SOS feature, press the flashlight button .
Ultrasonic Dog Whistle
The ultrasonic dog whistle may assist search and rescue teams to
locate individuals during an emergency situation.
To enable the ultrasonic dog whistle, press and hold the button
for 2 seconds. The icon will be lit in the upper right corner of
the LCD screen.
To turn o the ultrasonic dog whistle, press any button on the de-
vice.
Using the Headphone Jack
Plug in a set of optional headphones (also headphones for smar-
tphones) that have a 3,5mm stereo plug.
