roomambientwheninstallingintoa closedormulti-unit rackassembly. Soinstallthe
equipmentinanenvironmentcompatiblewiththemaximumratedambient
temperature.
Reducedairflow
Installtheequipmentina rackinsucha waythattheamountofairflowrequiredfor
safeoperationisnotcompromised.
Mechanicalloading
Mounttheequipmentintherackinsuchawaythatahazardousconditionisnot
achievedduetounevenmechanicalloading.

Circuitoverloading
Whenconnectingtheequipmenttothesupplycircuit, considertheeffectthat
overloadingofcircuitsmighthaveon over-currentprotectionandsupplywiring.
Reliableearthingofrack-mountedequipmentshouldbemaintained. Giveattentionto
supplyconnectionsotherthandirectconnectionstothebranchcircuit(e.g.useof
powerstrips).

BydefaultOSDaccess isnotpasswordprotected. OnlytheAdministratorcan
password-protecttheOSDordisablepasswordprotection.
Todo so:
1.IntheGeneralsettingswindownavigatetotheSecurityline.
2.PresstheSpacebartotogglebetweenSecurityOnandOff. Thepasswordbox
appears.
3.TypetheAdministrator’spassword(defaultis“admin”).
4.Press Enter. Thenewsecuritystatusisset.
If youforgettheAdministrator'spassword, goto www.minicom.com. Fromthe
SupportmenuselectSmartSwitches. Thereyouwillfindinformationthatexplains
howtorestorea lostpasswordorresettheswitchtoitsdefaultsettingsincludingthe
