热泵如何工作
采暖模式
热泵使用电能和来自室外空气的低等级热能加热
制冷剂，再由制冷剂加热水以进行采暖制热。热
泵的效率被称为性能系数或 COP，是传递的热量
与消耗的功率之比。
热泵的操作类似于冰箱的反向操作。该过程被称
为蒸气压缩循环，以下为更详细的说明。
第一阶段始于制冷剂变冷和低压。
1. 回路中的制冷剂在通过压缩机时被压缩。其
变成热的高压气体。温度通常会升至 60℃。
2. 热的制冷剂气体在通过板式换热器的一侧时
冷凝。来自制冷剂气体的热量传递到换热器
的冷却器侧（水侧）。随着制冷剂温度降低，
其状态从气体变为液体。
3. 此时其作为冷却的液体仍具有高压。为了降
低压力，液体将通过膨胀阀。压力下降，但
制冷剂仍为冷却的液体。
4. 循环的最后阶段是制冷剂进入蒸发器并蒸发。
正是在这一阶段，外部空气中的部分自由热
能被制冷剂吸收。
只有制冷剂才能通过此循环 ；水在通过板式换热
器时会被加热。来自制冷剂的热能通过板式换热
器传递给较冷的水，使其温度升高。该已加热的
水进入主回路并循环，供采暖制热系统使用。
最经济的做法
 空气源热泵可以全年提供采暖制热。该系统
与传统的化石燃料制热系统不同。如前言中
所述，热泵的效率以其性能系数表示。为了
实现制热系统最高效、最经济的运行 , 应注
意以下几点。
·在大多数情况下，最好使用室温模式进行采暖
制热。这使得热泵能够利用专门的三菱电机
控制器检测当前的室温并以受控的方式对变
化作出反应。
·使用定时开关和度假模式功能可防止在工作日
中已知性能未被占用时不必要的采暖制热。
·由于流动温度较低 ,热泵制热系统应在地板下
的大面积制热中使用。这将为房间提供稳定
的热量，同时提高效率，从而降低系统的运
行成本，因为热泵无需产生流动温度非常高
的水。

控制概述
水温控制器（FTC）内置于空气源（热泵）热水
机组中。该装置控制室外热泵机组和空气源（热
泵）热水机组的功能。先进技术意味着通过使
用水温控制控制的热泵，不仅与传统化石燃料
型制热系统相比，甚至与市场上的许多其他热
泵相比，您也能节省成本。
正如前面部分“热泵如何工作”所述，热泵在
提供低温水时效率最高。水温控制先进技术可
将室温保持在所需水平，同时利用热泵的最低
水温。
在室温（自动调整）模式下，控制器使用制热
系统周围的温度传感器来监测空间和水流温度。
该数据被控制器定期更新并与先前的数据进行
比较，以预测室温的变化并相应地调节流向采
暖制热回路的水的温度。通过不仅监测室外环
境，还同时监测房间和制热回路的水温，制热
更为一致，并且减少了所需热量输出的突然峰
值。从而实现了仅需要较低的整体水流温度。

主页画面
一般操作
在一般操作中，主遥控器上显示的画面如右图
所示。
该画面显示目标温度、采暖模式、正在使用的
任何其他热源、度假模式以及日期和时间。
您可以使用功能按钮来访问更多信息。显示该
画面时，按下 F1 将显示当前状态，按下 F4 将
使用户进入选项菜单画面。

制热
制热菜单使用通常的地板下制热系统处理采暖，
具体取决于安装。
有 3 种制热模式

该模式在“控制概述”部分（第 3 页）中详细说明。
< 水温模式 >
流向制热回路的水温由安装人员设定，以最佳地
适应采暖系统设计和用户期望的要求。
外温联动出水温曲线的说明
在春末和夏季，对采暖的需求通常会减少。为防
止热泵为主回路带来过高的水温，可以使用外温
联动出水温曲线模式来实现效率最大化并降低运
行成本。
外温联动出水温曲线用于根据室外温度限制主采
暖回路的水温。水温控制使用室外温度传感器和
来自主回路电源的温度传感器的信息，以确保在
天气条件不需要的情况下热泵不会产生过高的水
温。
您的安装人员将根据当地条件和您家中使用的采
暖类型设置图形的参数。您无需更改这些设置。
但是，如果您发现在合理的运行期间采暖不制热
或使您的房屋过热，请联系您的安装人员，以便
他们检查您的系统是否有任何问题，并在必要时
更新这些设置。

可以以两种方式设定定时开关，例如一个用于夏
季、另一个用于冬季。（分别参阅“定时开关 1”
和“定时开关 2”。）一旦指定了定时开关 2的期
限（月份），剩余的期限将被指定为定时开关 1。
在每个定时开关中，可以设定一种模式（制热）
的运行模式。如果没有为定时开关 2设定运行模
式，则仅有定时开关 1的模式有效。如果定时开
关2设定为全年（例如三月至二月），则仅有定
时开关 2的模式有效。
在选项画面中激活或停用定时开关。（见“一般
操作”章节）

在主菜单画面中，请按下按钮 E。注意请勿按下
按钮 E太久，否则将会关闭控制器和系统。
显示度假模式激活画面后，您可以激活 /停用度
假模式并选择您希望度假模式运行的持续时间。
●按下按钮 F1 以激活或停用度假模式。
●使用按钮 F2、F3 和F4 输入您希望激活或停用
用于采暖的度假模式的日期。

故障排除
下表为可能发生的问题的指南。其并不保证详尽，所有问题都应由安装人员或其他合格人员进行调查。
用户不应尝试自行修复系统。
系统在任何时候都不应该使用旁路或插入的安全设备进行操作。

pump heating system works, how to run the system at its most efcient and how
to change settings on the main remote controller.

How the Heat Pump Works
Space heating
Heat pumps take electric energy and low grade heat energy from the outdoor air
to heat refrigerant which in turn heats water for space heating. The efciency of a
heat pump is known as the Coefcient of Performance or COP this is the ratio of
heat delivered to power consumed.
The operation of a heat pump is similar to a refrigerator in reverse. This process
is known as the vapour-compression cycle and the following is a more detailed
explanation.
The rst phase begins with the refrigerant being cold and low pressure.
1. The refrigerant within the circuit is compressed as it passes through the com-
pressor. It becomes a hot highly pressurised gas. The temperature also rises
typically to 60°C.
2. The hot refrigerant gas is then condensed as it passes across one side of a
plate heat exchanger. Heat from the refrigerant gas is transferred to the cooler
side (water side) of the heat exchanger. As the temperature of the refrigerant
decreases its state changes from a gas to a liquid.
3. Now as a cold liquid it still has a high pressure. To reduce the pressure the liq-
uid passes through an expansion valve. The pressure drops but the refrigerant
remains a cold liquid.
4. The nal stage of the cycle is when the refrigerant passes into the evaporator
and evaporates. It is at this point when some of the free heat energy in the out-
side air is absorbed by the refrigerant.
It is only the refrigerant that passes through this cycle; the water is heated as it
travels through the plate heat exchanger. The heat energy from the refrigerant
passes through the plate heat exchanger to the cooler water which increases in
temperature. This heated water enters the primary circuit and is circulated and
used to serve the space heating system.

Air source heat pumps can provide space heating all year. The system is different
to a conventional fossil fuel heating system. The efciency of a heat pump is
shown by its coefcient of performance as explained in the introduction. The fol-
lowing points should be noted to achieve the most efcient and economical opera-
tion of your heating system.
• In most situations space heating is best performed using the room tempera-
ture mode. This enables the heat pump to analyse current room temperature
and react to changes in a controlled manner utilising the specialised Mitsubi-
shi Electric controls.
• Using the SCHEDULE and HOLIDAY functions prevent unnecessary Space
heating when the property is known to be unoccupied for instance during the
working day.
• Due to lower ow temperatures, heat pump heating systems should be used
with large surface area under-oor heating. This will provide a steady heat to
the room whilst improving efciency and so lowering running costs of the
system as the heat pump does not have to produce water at very high ow
temperatures.
Overview of Controls
Built into the hydrobox is the Flow Temperature Controller(FTC). This device
controls the function of both the outdoor heat pump unit and the hydrobox. The
advanced technology means that by using an FTC controlled heat pump you can
not only make savings compared to traditional fossil fuel type heating systems
but also compared to many other heat pumps on the market.
As explained in the earlier section, ‘How the Heat Pump Works,’ heat pumps are
most efficient when providing low flow temperature water. The FTC advanced
technology enables the room temperature to be kept at the desired level whilst
utilising the lowest possible ow temperature from the heat pump.
In room temp. (Auto adaptation) mode the controller uses temperature sensors
around the heating system to monitor space and ow temperatures. This data
is regularly updated and compared to previous data by the controller to predict
changes in room temperature and adjust the temperature of water owing to the
space heating circuit accordingly. By monitoring not only the outdoor ambient, but
the room and heating circuit water temperatures, the heating is more consistent
and sudden spikes in required heat output are reduced. This results in a lower
overall ow temperature being required.

To change the settings of your heating system please use the main remote con-
troller located on the front panel of the hydrobox. The following is a guide to view-
ing the main settings. Should you require more information please contact your
installer or local Mitsubishi Electric dealer.

This screen shows the main operating modes of the system.
Use function buttons to switch between Operating (►), Prohibited ( ) and Timer
() for space heating, or detailed information on energy or capacity.
The option screen allows quick setting of the following;
• Space heating operating mode — to change mode press F3 (*1)
• Energy monitor
Following accumulated energy values are displayed.
: Consumed electrical energy in total (month-to-date) (*2)
: Delivered heat energy in total (month-to-date)
To monitor the energy values in each operation mode for [month-to-date/ last
month/ the month before last/ year-to-date/ last year], press F4 to access to
the Energy monitor menu.
*1 Modes (
Operating (►), Prohibited ( ) and Timer ( ) ) can not be changed by
F3 when Server control ( )indicates. Press F3 for 3 seconds to activate the
operation.
*2 External electric energy meter is necessary to indicate consumed electric
energy.
Note:
If a certain accuracy is required for the monitoring, the method to display
captured data from external energy meter(s) should be set up. Contact your
installer for further details.

To access the main settings menu press button B ‘MENU’
The following menus will be displayed;

1. From the main settings menu use F2 and F3 buttons to highlight ‘Initial set-
tings’ icon and select by pressing CONFIRM.
2. Use F1 and F2 buttons to scroll through the menu list. When the required title
is highlighted then press CONFIRM to edit.
3. Use the relevant function buttons to edit each initial setting then press CON-
FIRM to save the setting.
Initial settings that can be edited are

Home screen
General Operation
In general operation the screen displayed on the main remote controller will be
shown as in the gure on the right.
This screen shows the target temperature, space heating mode, any additional
heat sources being used, holiday mode, and the date and time.
You should use the function buttons to access more information. When this
screen is displayed pressing F1 will display the current status and pressing F4
will take the user to the option menu screen.

[Holiday mode]
Holiday mode can be used to keep the system running at lower ow temperatures
and thus reduced power usage whilst the property is unoccupied. Holiday mode
can run either ow temp., room temp., heating, compensation curve heating all at
reduced ow temperatures to save energy if the occupier is absent.
From the main menu screen press button E should be pressed. Be careful not to
hold down button E for too long as this will turn off the controller and system.
Once the holiday mode activation screen is displayed you can activate/deactivate
and select the duration that you would like holiday mode to run for.
● Press button F1 to activate or deactivate holiday mode.
● Use buttons F2, F3 and F4 to input the date which you would like holiday
mode to activate or deactivate holiday mode for space heating.
<Editing holiday mode>
Refer to the menu tree in “Main remote controller” of Installation Manual.
Should you require the Holiday mode settings e.g. the ow temp., room temp. to
be altered you should contact your installer.
Heating
The heating menus deal with space heating using normally underoor heating
system depending on the installation.
There are 3 heating modes
● Heating room temp. (Auto adaptation) ( )
● Heating ow temp. ( )
● Heating compensation curve ( )
<Room temp. (Auto adaptation) mode>
This mode is explained in detail in ‘Overview of Controls’ Section (page 3).
<Flow temp. mode>
The temperature of the water owing to the heating circuit is set by the installer to
best suit the space heating system design, and user’s desired requirements.
Explanation of compensation curve
During late spring and summer usually the demand for space heating is reduced.
To prevent the heat pump from producing excessive ow temperatures for the
primary circuit the compensation curve mode can be used to maximise efciency
and reduce running costs.
The compensation curve is used to restrict the ow temperature of the primary
space heating circuit dependent on the outdoor temperature. The FTC uses in-
formation from both an outdoor temperature sensor and a temperature sensor
on the primary circuit supply to ensure the heat pump is not producing excessive
ow temperatures if the weather conditions do not require it.
Your installer will set the parameters of the graph depending on local conditions
and type of space heating used in your home. It should not be necessary for you
to alter these settings. If however you nd that over a reasonable operating pe-
riod the space heating is not heating or is overheating your home, please contact
your installer so they can check your system for any problems and update these
settings if necessary.

9. The time bar edit screen will be displayed.
10.Use buttons F2/F3 to move to the point at which you do not want the selected
mode to be active press CONFIRM to start.
11.Use F3 button to set the required time of inactivity then press CONFIRM.
12.You can add up to 4 periods of inactivity within a 24 hour interval.
13.Press F4 to save settings.
When scheduling heating, button F1 changes the scheduled variable between
time and temperature. This enables a lower temperature to be set for a number of
hours e.g. a lower temperature may be required at night when the occupants are
sleeping.
Note:
• The schedule timer for space heating is set in the same way.
• A small rubbish bin character is also displayed choosing this icon will
delete the last unsaved action.
• It is necessary to use the SAVE function F4 button to save settings. CON-
FIRM does NOT act as SAVE for this menu.

<Setting the Schedule timer>
1. From the main settings menu use F2 and F3 to highlight the schedule icon
then press CONFIRM.

From the schedule 2 period preview screen use F1 and F2 to scroll through the
selecting each subtitle in turn by pressing CONFIRM.
3. The schedule timer sub menu will be displayed. The icons show the following
mode;
• [Heating]
4. Use F2 and F3 buttons to move between mode icons press CONFIRM to be
shown the PREVIEW screen for each mode.
The preview screen allows you to view the current settings. Days of the week are
displayed across the top of the screen. Where day appears underlined the set-
tings are the same for all those days underlined.
Hours of the day and night are represented as a bar across the main part of the
screen. Where the bar is solid black, space heating is allowed.
5. In the preview menu screen press F4 button.
6. First select the days of the week you wish to schedule.
7. Press F2/F3 buttons to move between days and F1 to check or uncheck the
box.
8. When you have selected the days press CONFIRM.
[Schedule timer]
Scheduled timer can be set in two ways, for example; one for summer and the
other for winter. (Refer to as “Schedule 1” and “Schedule 2” respectively.) Once
the term (months) for the Schedule 2 is specied, rest of the term will be specied
as Schedule 1. In each Schedule, an operational pattern of mode (Heating) can
be set. If no operational pattern is set for Schedule2, only the pattern for Sched-
ule 1 will be valid. If Schedule 2 is set to full-year (i.e. March to Feb.), only the
operational pattern for Schedule 2 will be valid.
The schedule timer is activated or deactivated in the option screen. (See
‘General Operation’ section)
<Setting the Schedule period>
1. From the main settings menu use F2 and F3 to highlight the schedule icon
then press CONFIRM.
2. The Schedule period preview screen is displayed.
3. To change the Schedule period, press F4. button.
4. The time bar edit screen is displayed.
5. Use F2/F3 button to point at a starting month of the Schedule2, then press
CONFIRM.
6. Use F2/F3 button to point at an ending month of the Schedule2, then press
CONFIRM.
7. Press F4 to save settings.

[Service] Menu
The service menu is password protected to prevent accidental changes being
made to the operation settings, by unauthorised/unqualied persons.
Troubleshooting
The following table is to be used as a guide to possible problems. It is not exhaustive and all problems should be investigated by the installer or another competent person.
Users should not attempt to repair the system themselves.
At no time should the system be operating with the safety devices by-passed or plugged.

1. Before attempting to drain the hydrobox islolate from the electrical supply to prevent booster heater burning out.
2. Isolate hydrobox from primary water circuit and drain water from hydrobox. Use a suitable heat resistant hose to assist in these operations.
3. Drain any remaining water from booster heater using tted drain cock and hose to safely drain the unit.
4. After the hydrobox is drained, water remains in the following component parts. Drain water completely by checking the inside of the parts.
• Strainer (Remove the strainer cover.)
• Pressure relief valve (Operate the valve.)
