1.0 DESCRIPTION
Track-It™ Pressure/Temperature or Vacuum/
Temperature Loggers are baery-powered,
standalone, waterght data loggers that can record
up to 64.000 samples. They can be set to record
both pressure and temperature or vacuum and
temperature or either parameter alone to maximize
data storage space. The onboard data storage is
nonvolale so data will not be lost in the event of a
depleted baery.
The loggers can be easily congured using the free downloadable Track-It™
DataLogger Soware. There is a mini-USB connector within the unit allowing
connecon to a PC for programming and data upload. Data upload can also be
done with an Android™ device using the Transporter App available on the Google
Play store.
Congure the unit to start or stop recording immediately, at a predetermined
me and date, or only when an alarm condion is sensed. The sample storage
rate can be set from 1 sample every 2 seconds up to 1 samples every 24 hours.
Track-It™ Pressure/Temperature or Vacuum/Temperature Loggers can be
ordered in several pressure or vacuum ranges. The loggers are packaged in a
rugged submersible (IP67) 316L stainless steel housing and have a standard ¼”
NPT ng for vacuum up to 5800 PSI and ½” NPT for higher pressure ranges.
The replaceable internal lithium baery has up to a 5-year life.

IMPORTANT: Before using your Track-It Data Logger, you must rst download
and install the USB Drivers and DataLogger Soware. Please refer to the
Quick Start Guide that was provided with your Data Logger, or you can
download the Quick Start Guide.
The free Track-It DataLogger Soware gives the user complete control in
programming the Logger and allows for the upload, examinaon, and archiving
of data recorded on the Logger.
Advanced features include:
• Real-me data view and record of PC when connected via USB
• Delayed recordings, xed duraon recordings by me or number of samples,
mulple record mes, manual record by buon press, record on alarms
• Sample storage rate can be set from 1 sample every 2 seconds up to 1 sample
every 24 hours; instantaneous, average, maximum or minimum values
• Two Alarms: high or low, latched or momentary, and record under these alarm
condions
• Display of data graphically, digitally or tabular formats with alarm indicaon
• Export user-selected data in CSV formats for import into Excel®; lter data to
be exported

Track-It Transport is a free Android applicaon that allows you to use your
Android device to start and stop recording and transfer data using a USB
On-The-Go cable.

4.0 INSTALLATION
The logger can be ordered with various pressure sensors to cover most
applicaons. Pressure ranges up to 5800 PSI have a ¼″ male NPT thread intended
to screw into the pressure source. Ranges 8700 to 14,500 PSI use ½″ NPT. Make
sure to use suitable tape or thread sealant/dope on the threads before inserng
the Logger into the port. Use an adjustable wrench on the SENSOR NUT to
ghten the device into the port and test for leaks.
5.0 INTERNAL CONTROL PANEL
To access the internals of the unit,
it is necessary to unscrew the lid
(counterclockwise). This exposes the
internal control panel (shown right).
The funcons of these controls are
described in the following secons.
With visual indicaon from the LED, the pushbuon can be used to check
status or to change the state of the data logger. For instance, the pushbuon
can be used to start and stop recording, if desired. This feature can also be
disabled to ensure the data logger state remains unchanged unl connected
to a PC.
Short press and release: LED will ash in various paerns to indicate
data logger status:
The ash sequence is: Baery status > Record status > Alarm status
One long red ash at the beginning of the ash sequence indicates low
baery. (no red ash = baery ok)
One long red ash at the end of the ash sequence indicates an alarm.
(no red ash = no alarm)
Slow red/green blink: Connect to PC, unit is NOT set up or memory is full.

The table below summarizes the push-buon / LED funconality.
The logger has a mini USB port. Plug the cable into this port and the other
end into the USB port on your PC/Laptop. The free soware needs to be
installed in order to work with the logger (see secon 2.0 TRACK-IT™
datalogger SOFTWARE INSTALLATION).

Track-It™ Pressure/Temp and Vacuum/Temp Data Loggers come with a
1/2AA Lithium Thionyl Chloride 3.6 V non-rechargeable baery installed.
Refer to secon 7.0 REPLACING THE BATTERY for more informaon.
The Track-It™ DataLogger Soware runs on a PC and allows the user to connect
the logger through a USB connecon to program the logger or review the data.
The operaon of the Track-It™ DataLogger Soware is described in its own
manual which is accessed via the Help – Manual opon.
There are a few unique opons specically for this Pressure Logger which are
covered below.
Select Preferences then the Eng
Units tab. You will see the pop-up
box shown right.
These Engineering Units apply to
the data read from the Logger and
displayed on the graph or in the
data table. Select your desired
Pressure Engineering Units.
The Units for Logger check
box is only for Pressure Display
Loggers
For Absolute pressure ranges, Use Pressure Oset can be enabled to
mathemacally subtract atmospheric pressure providing gauge values. For
more informaon about Absolute versus Gauge measurements, refer to our
refer to our App Note found here: click to link.
For Vacuum/Temperature Loggers, the user can decide to Show Vacuum
Posive (or Negave, if not checked).

Under the Device Setup tab,
select the Input tab and the
Chan 1 tab.
The Pressure Channel Type will
be listed as set in Preferences
(see secon 6.1 Preferences).
While the Pressure channel
can be disabled, it is not recommended.
Note that selecng anything other than Instantaneous for Sample Mode
(the Logger only takes a reading at the Record Rate) will cause the Logger
to take readings at the highest sample rate and will have an adverse eect
on the baery life.
The Chan 2 tab is similar but for the Temperature channel. The Temperature
channel can be disabled; in which case, the Logger will only record Pressure,
not Pressure and Temperature.

7.0 REPLACING THE BATTERY
Replace the baery as needed with type: ER14250, 1/2AA
3 Lithium Thionyl Chloride 3.6V. Remove threaded cap and
insert baery as shown in diagram right (observe polarity).
Track-It Pressure/Vacuum Temperature Loggers come
directly from the factory with high quality O-rings that have
been properly installed. As a user, it is up to you to maintain
a funconal O-ring seal. Make sure to clean them frequently,
lubricate them regularly and inspect the O-ring regularly
for signs of failure (nicks, cuts, gashes, aening, cracking,
discoloraon, deformaon, etc.). Do not poke, jab, or pry
the O-ring with sharp or pointed objects. Do not expose the
O-ring to harsh chemicals or pressure/temperature beyond
specicaons.
Remove threaded cap and use a small pointed tool to pry the old O-ring out
of its groove. Make sure that the O-ring groove is free of any dirt or debris.
Apply a thin coat of lubricant to the new O-Ring. Carefully install the new
O-ring into the threaded cap. Conrm cap screws back onto the case fully
without binding.
