Ensurethatwheninstallingthesafetycollar,dimensionismeasuredfromthefrontsurfaceofthe
heatertothebenchstructures!

Electricalconnectionsmayonlybemadebyanelectricianwithvalidinstallationauthorizationaccording
tothecurrentregulations.TheAuraelectricheaterissuitableforuseinafamilysauna,one(1)heater
persaunaroom.Retaintheinstallationandoperatinginstructionsforfurtherreference.
UserubbercableH07RN-Fasaconnectioncable.
Controlofelectricheatingwiththeheater:Theelectricheatingcontrolcableisbroughtdirectly
totheheater’sjunctionboxandfurthertotheheater’sterminalblockwitharubbercablethatis
dimensionallyidenticaltotheincomingcable.
Duringtherstheating,theresistorsmayemitfumes.Therefore,ensurethattheroomisproperly
ventilated.NOTE! Please also read the user instructions for the controller!
Alwayscheckthesaunaroombeforeswitchingtheheateron!Alwaysmakesurethatthetimerhas
switchedthepoweroafterthesettimeperiod!
Thetemperatureisadjustedbymeansofthecontroller(seepage15).Theactualheatingtimedepends
onthedimensions,structureandthermalinsulationofthesauna.Thetemperatureinthesaunaroom
canbemaintainedatthedesiredlevelwiththethermostat.Ifthetemperatureofthesaunaroom
becomesdangerouslyhighforanyreason,theoverheatingprotectorwillswitchtheheater’spowero.
Thecauseofoverheatingmustalwaysbeinvestigated.Thepowercanbeswitchedonagainbypressing
theoverheatingprotectorresetbutton(seepage17).
Anexcessiveheatingtimeconsumesenergyanddoesnotimprovethesteamingproperties.Thebest
steamisachievedbykeepingthesauna’sheatingtimerelativelyshort,atabout30–60min.,according
tothesizeofthesaunaandtheheater’spower.Thesizeofthesauna,theglassdoor,windows,or
materialsusedmayrequirealongerheatingtime.

Werecommendusinghandwarmwater.Thewatershouldbefreshhouseholdwater.Throwingthe
waterontotheheatersides/lowerstonesgeneratessoftersteam.Ifyouwantsteamthatfeelshotter
andmoreintense,pourplentyofwarmwaterontopoftheheaterallatonce.
Thesaunaanditsceiling,inparticular,shouldhavegoodthermalinsulation,asheattendstoescape
throughtheceiling.Duetothemoisture,werecommendthatyouusealuminiumpaper.Thesizeofthe
heatershouldbeselectedaccordingtothesizeofthesauna(incubicmetres).Inadditiontocalculating
thepowerneedfortheregularsaunastructure(glasswool–foil–wood),thefollowingshouldbetaken
intoconsideration.Ifthesaunahasanyuninsulatedwood,tileorconcretesurfacesorthewallsare
madeoflogs,theheaterpowerneedstobeincreased.Foreveryuninsulatedsquaremetre,theheater
powerneedincreasesbythesameamountasifincreasingthespacevolumeby1.2m3andontimber
surfacesby1.5m3.Thefactorforglasssurfaces(glasswalls,doorsanduninsulatedstonesurfaces)is
also1.2m3persquaremetre.Inborderlinecases,youshouldchooseaheaterwithhigherpower.
Thesaunaneedsecientventilationforagoodoxygenlevelandasucientamountoffreshair.Theair
inthesaunaneedstochangeatleast6timesperhour.Forasaunawithanelectricheater,mechanical
ventilationisthemostconvenientventilationmethod.Thesupplyairshouldbeprovidedthroughan
inletlocated500mm,ataminimum,abovetheheater,eitheronthewallorintheceiling.Theexhaust
valveshouldbeplacedontheoppositewall,asfarawayfromtheheaterandasclosetotheoorlevel
aspossible.Itishighlyrecommendabletoinstallanexhaustairvalveintheceilingaswellforeasier
removalofmoistureaftersaunasessions.

ofthisinstallationmanual.TheheaterisconnectedtothemainsbymeansofaH07RN-Forequivalent
rubbercable.Theconnectionissemi-xed.
Connectthethermalsensorwiretothecircuitboard.Thesensorwires,startingfromtheleft,are:blue,
white,red,andyellow.Youcanalsorefertothewiringdiagramonpage13fortheorderofthewires.
Carefullyconnecttheconnectortothecircuitboardbypushingitalltheway.
Installing the thermostat sensor to the wall:Thedistancefromtheceilingtothetopofthesensoris100
mm.Thedistancefromtheoutersurfaceoftheheaterisover500mm.
Installing the thermostat sensor to the ceiling:Thedistancefromtheoutersurfaceoftheheaterisover
100–400mm.
Inaddition,theminimumdistancebetweenthesensorandanon-directionalinletairvalveis1000mm,
or500mmiftheinletairvalveisdirectedawayfromthesensor.Seetheinstructionsonpage12.Install
thethermostatwireintheairgapbehindthewallpanel.Ifthisisnotpossible,useapowerskirting.
Ensurethattheinletairdoesnotinterferewiththefunctioningofthethermalsensor.
DONOTcutthewireatthethermostatend.Thethermostatsensorwillnotworkifthewire
isextendedorreconnected.Ifyouneedtoshortenthewire,dosoattheconnectorend.Otherwise,
pleasecontacttechnicalsupport.
Seetheinstallationinstructionsonpage12todetermine
theinstallationheightanddistance.
Drillaholeofanappropriatesizeinthepanelforthewire,
orifyouuseaconnectionbox,forthebox.Donotpuncture
theinsulation.Ifyoupuncturetheinsulationboard/foil,you
mustpatchtheholewithaluminiumfoiltape.
Routethewiresfromtheheateralongthebottomedge
ofthepaneltotheholeandthreadthewiresoutofthe
hole/box.
Connectthewirestotheswitchboard(seepage13).
Attachtheswitchboardtothewall/box.Thefrontplateof
theswitchboardattachestotheswitchboardbymeans
oftwoplastictacks.Thecolouroptionsunderneaththe
transparentplasticmayvary.

ThetargettemperatureofthesaunacanbeadjustedatanaccuracyofonedegreeCelsius.The
minimumtemperatureis+40degreesandthemaximumis+110degreesCelsius.Thesettingissaved
inthememory.
Therearetwodierentmethodstoadjustthetargettemperature:
PresstheMenubuttontodisplaythetargettemperature.
Pressthe(Increase / +)and(Decrease / –)buttonstochangethevalue.Thecontrollerexitsthe
targettemperaturesetupmenuautomaticallyinapproximately10secondsifnobuttonispressed.You
canalsoexitthemenubypressingtheMenubuttonrepeatedly.
Pressingtheorbuttonwhenthesaunatemperatureisdisplayedonthescreengivesdirect
accesstothetargettemperaturesetup.Toexit,followtheinstructionsinitem1above.

ThetimersettingcanbeadjustedfromthebasicstatusbypressingtheMenubuttonthreetimes.
Tochangethesetting,pressthe(Increase / +)and(Decrease / –)buttons.
Theadjustmentrangeis0.5h–24h,withanadjustmentintervalof0.5h.Whenthesettingvalueis0,
thetimerisnotactive.Thissettingcanonlybechangedwhentheheaterisswitchedo.
Toswitchtheheateron,pressthemainswitchlocatedinthebottompartoftheheater.Pressthe
On/Obuttonofthecontroller.Theheater'sresistorsstartheatingtothesettargettemperature.
Theheatingindicatorlightsuponthecontroller.Adecimalpointisdisplayedatthelowerright-hand
cornerofthescreentoindicatethattheresistorsareon.(Ifthetimerhasbeenset,theOn/Obutton
switchesonthetimerfunction.Theheaterwillstartheatingafterthetimesetwiththetimerhas
elapsed.
TheheaterisswitchedobypressingtheOn/Obutton.
Ifthetimerhasbeensetbuttheheaterisnoton,thetimersettingcanbeoverriddenbykeeping
theOn/Obuttondepressedforacoupleofseconds.Thisswitchestheheateronimmediately.
Thetimersettingwillstillberetainedinthememory.
The decimal point farthest to the right on the screen
indicates that the heater resistors are on. The decimal
point disappears when the resistors are not on.
Heating indicator

Iftheheatermalfunctions,anerrorcodeisdisplayedonthescreen.Oncethemalfunctionhasbeen
addressed,theerrorcodedisappears.Otherwise,contactmaintenance.
ER1=Thethermalsensorismissingorthetemperatureistoo
low.Checkthewiringandinstallationofthethermalsensor.
ER2=Thethermalsensorhasshort-circuitedorthetemperature
istoohigh.Ensurethatthewiringofthethermalsensorisintact
andthatthesensorhasnotshort-circuited.Alsocheckthe
controllerwiringinthewiringdiagramonpage13.
PCB=Thetemperatureoftheheater’scontrolelectronicsistoo
high.Checkthecontrollerwiringinthewiringdiagramonpage
13.
Checkiftheoverheatingprotectorhasbeenactivated.
Acknowledgetheoverheatingprotectorbycarefullypressingthe
buttonlocatedonthethermalsensorcasing.
Ensuretheconnectionsaremadecorrectlyandthattheheater
andlightcontactsareappropriate.

Iftheheatermalfunctions,anerrorcodeisdisplayedonthecontrollerscreen.Theerrorcode
denitionsareprovidedonpage17.Iftheproblemcannotberesolvedwiththeinstructionsprovided,
contacttechnicalsupportormaintenance.Oncethemalfunctionhasbeenaddressed,theerror
codesdisappear.Suchsituationsincludeaclearedshort-circuitinthesensorortheheatercoolingo
sucientlyafteroverheating.Afterthat,youmaytrytoswitchtheheateronagain.

Forheatersandcontrolunitsinprivateuse,thewarrantyistwo(2)years.Incommercial/professional
use,thewarrantyisthree(3)months.Commercialusereferstofacilitiesinwhichtheheaterisin
useonacontinuousbasis,suchastnesscentres,swimmingpools,housingcompaniesetc.Itisnot
recommendedthattheheaterisonforlongerthansix(6)hoursatatime.Retainthesalesreceiptor
warrantycard.Thewarrantydoesnotcoverexternalorinternalmechanicaldamagecausedby,for
example,theimpactsofstonesortheheaterfallingover.Thewarrantyalsodoesnotcoverdefects
causedbyactsofnature,suchaslighting,ordamagecausedbyovervoltage.Pleasealsoseechapter
“Changingtheheaterstones”.Removing or re-stacking of heater stones are not covered by the
warranty in a potential warranty maintenance.
Incaseofafaultthatcannotbesolved,pleasecontactthestorewhereyoupurchasedtheheateror
emailinfo@mondex..SparepartscanbepurchasedfromMondexdistributorsandthemanufacturer.
Whenpurchasingspareparts,pleaserefertothename,power,serialnumberandmanufacturingdate
oftheheatertoensureyoureceivethecorrectparts.
Smallpebblesorpiecesmaycomeothenaturalstoneusedintheheater.Asthisisnotafailureof
theorganicmaterialbutanaturalfeaturethatcannotbepredictedatthetimeofmanufacturingthe
product,themanufacturerisnotresponsibleforanydamage.
Re-stacktheheaterstonesandreplaceanyerodedstonesannually(everythreemonthsincommercial/
professionaluse).Thegoodconditionandproper,spaciousstackingofthestonesaroundtheresistors
insidetheheaterensureasucientairowbetweentheresistors.Ifthisisnotcarriedoutannually,a
properairowmaybeobstructedandtheresistorsmaybreakprematurely,whichisnotcoveredby
thewarranty.
