Important Information
WARNING
Do not use this product until you have read the User Manual.
WARNING
As soon as the child is able to sit or kneel, pull himself or herself up,
turn over, or crawl out of the Baby Hammock, you should stop using it.
WARNING
Using objects in the Baby Hammock may pose a risk of choking.

Do not use the Baby Hammock close to other devices that could pose
a risk of choking or strangulation, such as strings, cords, curtain tie
backs, and the like.

Baby Hammock
Door Frame Clamp
The Baby Hammock may be mounted in a clamp so that it hangs from door
frame. We recommend using Moonboon’s Door Frame Clamp; it holds up to
44 lbs / 20 kg.
- The door frame cannot be wider than 10 inches / 25 cm.
- The door frame clamp must be securely placed on both sides of the door-
way.
- Electrical wires may not be draped across the top of the door frame.
Carefully read the user manual with instructions for the door frame clamp.
Stand
Use only a tripod stand designed specifically to hold a Baby Hammock.
Make sure the tripod is secure on the floor and that the floor is level.
Carefully read the user manual with instructions for the tripod stand.
Never push the Baby Hammock back
and forth or from side to side or in any
other way use it as a swing while it is
hanging in the tripod stand.
Ceiling Hook
When hanging the Baby Hammock from a hook in the ceiling, you must
ensure that the hook is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the Baby
Hammock and the child. We recommend using the Moonboon Mount-
ing Kit for Baby Hammock, which includes both a stainless ceiling hook
and mounting strap in cotton and nylon.
Once you have selected a spot in the ceiling, you need to determine the
ceiling material so as to select the correct type of anchor and hook to
prevent the Baby Hammock falling down.
You may wish to consult with the staff at the local home improvement
store if you purchase your own hook.
Mounting Options
We recommend you use Moonboon’s
Mounting Kit, developed explicitly
for suspension from the ceiling. If you
use other methods to suspend from
the ceil- ing, such as a hook, it must
be made from stainless steel without a
coating.
The Baby Hammock may be hung from a hook in the ceiling, a door
frame clamp, or a tripod stand. Regardless how you choose to hang the
Baby Hammock, it should be placed where there is no draft. Check the
section on HEIGHT.

Assembly
First see to the mounting: ceiling hook, door frame clamp, or tripod stand.
If you are using a Moonboon Motor, attach it before doing anything
else; see the user manual for instructions about the Motor.
Put the cover on the spring. Tie the cover with a bow at the top and
bottom and manually stretch the spring to distribute the cover evenly.
Hang the spring using the carabiner provided in the package. Note that
the spring swivel carabiner must point down as shown in the illustration.

The Baby Hammock comes with 2 plastic parts. These plastic parts
prevent the metal parts of the Baby Hammock from grinding against each
other. Before hanging the Baby Hammock, attach the plastic parts to the
swivel carabiner and the metal ring of the Baby Hammock as shown in the
illustration. Ensure that the plastic parts click audibly into place.

There are two ties on each side of the metal ring at the top of the Baby
Hammock. Making a bow, tie them to the metal ring on both sides.
Now put the Baby Hammock cross pin in place. At the ends of the cross
pin, loosen the string from one of the openings. Now fix the cross pin in
place so that it is horizontal.
Then guide the loose ends of the string back through the holes of the
cross pin and tie the string around the cross pin and the fabric.
The Baby Hammock is now ready for use. Before you put baby in the
Baby Hammock for the first time, go through the SAFETY CHECKLIST
and make sure all instructions have been followed.

Place the baby in the middle of the Baby Hammock such that the head is
elevated slightly as compared to the feet.
The child’s head goes in the end opposite the buttons. Place a larger
child as close to the head end assembly of the Baby Hammock as pos-
sible.
Make sure that the cross pin is horizontal as it keeps the shape of the
Baby Hammock.
Placement of the child
Height
It is essential that the Baby Hammock does not touch the floor during
operation. Before using the Baby Hammock, perform two tests to ensure
that the Baby Hammock does not touch the floor.
First test: Empty Baby Hammock
Mount the Baby Hammock as instructed and manually stretch the spring
as much as you can. Pull on the spring until you feel the safety strap (the
nylon strap inside the spring) preventing any further expansion.
When the spring is fully extended, space must remain between the bot-
tom of the Baby Hammock and the floor.
Now place the child in the Baby Hammock and repeat the test described
above: Stretch out the spring until you feel the safety strap keeping it from
stretching further.
Here, too, space must remain between the bottom of the Baby Hammock
and the floor.
Second test: Child in the Baby Hammock
It is important to ensure that duvets,
blankets, wraps, and the like are
never placed on top of baby’s head.
If using a cover, make sure it is firmly
tucked in under baby’s arms and
come up no higher than the chest.
Please note
Follow these instructions and
perform the tests regularly as your
child grows and becomes heavier.
That is how you ensure that the Baby
Hammock never touches the floor.

Why use a Baby Hammock?
Some newborns sleep very well, but there may be times when the little
ones have trouble settling down – those are the times when the Baby
Hammock is useful. The movement gives baby a familiar feeling of being
in mom’s belly, and being rocked is particularly soothing for the child.
This makes most children succumb to sleep.
For how long may my baby sleep in the Baby Hammock?
Your baby may, in principle, sleep in the Baby Hammock for as long as
necessary, but no two children are alike. Should you be uncertain wheth-
er you are overusing the Baby Hammock, we recommend that you con-
sult a health professional who is qualified to assess your baby’s sleeping
patterns and sleep requirements.
May my baby sleep in the Baby Hammock overnight?
At Moonboon, we always refer to the recommendations issued by the
health authorities. At this time, they have not issued any specific recom-
mendations for the use of a baby Baby Hammock. Therefore, we suggest
that you go with your instinct as a parent.
While baby may certainly sleep in the Baby Hammock during the night,
keep in mind the following: A Baby Hammock is not a substitute for a
bed. Baby needs to sleep on a firm mattress. If baby is able to turn over,
it is important not to let him or her sleep in the Baby Hammock without
supervision. Baby must have the opportunity to turn the head, and the
head must not be pressed against the chest.
Should you have very specific questions about your baby and your use
of the Baby Hammock, we recommend that you speak to a health pro-
fessional who is qualified to make assessments of your situation.
Why are plastic parts included with my Baby Hammock?
In August 2021, the Danish Board of Health presented cases of children
suffering from small metal particles in their eyes because of unfit met-
al hooks used for mounting sensory swings, cradles, and other similar
products.
With this in mind, Moonboon has developed a specific Mounting Kit to
mount your Baby Hammock from concrete and wooden ceilings. Further-
more, Moonboon has developed plastic parts for the Spring and Motor
to avoid metal on metal.

Cleaning Instructions
Baby Hammock
The Baby Hammock may be washed by hand at just over 100 degrees F
/ 40 degrees C. We do not recommend machine washing as the metal
ring of the Baby Hammock may cause damage to your washing machine
and to the Baby Hammock.
Mattress
The kapok fibers in the mattress benefit from being aired outdoors about
once a month, but the mattress cannot be washed.
