With the Motoplat pulley removal set,
welded pulleys of the Valeo ST-Series
alternators can easily be disassembled.
The cutting teeth of the end mill is
coated with polycrystalline diamond,
which withstands high abrasive wear and
makes the VP-028 last longer than other
tools.

This tool should be installed and operated in such a way that all applicable safety requirements are met.

small abrasive or workpiece fragments.
People who start using this product should review carefully this instrucon manual, or have had a training
from a qualied person.
Since this tool only operates in conjuncon with other equipment, you should also be
aware of the installaon, operaon and safety requirements of the other equipment.
This tool should be stored/used in a weather protected area where heat, humidity or any other climate
situaon can not damage the tool.
This tool should be stored/used on a level surface that is clear of debris and obstrucons.

1.0 General informaon about Motoplat VP-028 Pulley Removal Set:
With the Motoplat pulley removal set, welded pulleys of the Valeo ST-Series alternators can easily be disas-
sembled.
The cung teeth of the end mill is coated with polycrystalline diamond, which withstands high abrasive
wear and makes the VP-028 last longer than other tools.
Using the supplied ng, the end mill can be connected to a standing drill to remove the welded surface
on the pulley.
The VP-028 also comes with two dierent ngs that can be placed on the two types of ST-pulleys.

The Motoplat VP-028 pulley removal set has 2 sides to t perfectly in the 2 types of welded pulleys:
1. Pulleys with large ngs:

Before the tool is placed in the pulley of the alternator, please make sure the correct side is chosen.

Place the diamond milling cuer (Fig.2) in the pulley removal tool (Fig.1).
Place the milling cuer holder (Fig.3) on the diamond milling cuer (Fig.1)
Tighten the 2 Allen key screws on the cung mill holder rmly.
The safest way to remove the weld in the pulley is too use a standing drill.
Place the hex shank of the cung mill holder in the fastener of the standing drill.
Place the alternator/unit in an upright posion below the drill and make sure fragile parts like the plasc
cover and the regulator can not be damaged under pressure.
Use a special cung oil on the welded parts of the pulley to minimalize any damage.
SAFETY HAZARD BE VERY CAREFULL
Please be aware to use a low speed only.
Using the standing drill on full speed may damage the alternator.
Hold the pulley removal tool in place by grabbing both grips rmly.
Start cung the weld away and check at certain moments if the weld is gone.
Aer the weld has been milled away, the pulley can be removed using the corresponding removal bit
(Fig.4A/B) included in this set.
Fit the removal bit (Fig.4A/B) in the pulley and loosen it using a (air) ratchet.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
When welding a pulley to the rotor again, make sure to ground the pulley to the welding machine and
not the housing of the alternator as it will damage the bearings.
