responsible MOTO™ W233 Renew phone made
from plastics that contain recycled water bottles.

1From the home screen, press Nto see a list of
recently dialed calls.
2Scroll to the entry you want to call and press N.
release the top of the cover. Then, working down the
phone, release the cover and slide off.
Swap the keypad to the new cover, ensuring the top
and bottom tabs are located securely. To replace the
cover, first clip into the bottom of the phone and then
work up the body, locking the tabs at the top. Finally,
refit your battery and cover.
Caution: To avoid risk of personal injury or equipment damage,
and maintain compliance with international RF exposure
guidelines, do not use or charge your phone with either cover
removed.
Caution: The front cover is made of plastic, so be gentle with
it. Also, when removing the cover be careful not to expose it to
dirt, dust, liquids, condensation and static electricity. Always
use Motorola approved covers.

emergency calls
To call an emergency number,
enter the emergency number and
press N.
Your service provider programs emergency phone
numbers (such as 911) that you can call under any
circumstances, even when your phone is locked.
Emergency numbers vary by country. Your phone’s
pre-programmed emergency number(s) may not work
in all locations, and sometimes an emergency call
cannot be placed due to network, environmental, or
interference issues.

when you need music, all you need is your phone
To use the music player, insert a microSD memory
card, which is an optional accessory.
Your phone can play songs in the iMelody, MIDI and
MP3 file formats. Your phone cannot play WMA, AAC,
AAC+, AAC++ files, or MP3 files with a bit rate higher
than 320 Kbps.

key to access the music player.

New Picture Msg.
3Enter your message, and/or insert a picture, animation,
sound, quick note or contact info.
TIP: In a text entry screen, press #to switch
entry modes.
4Press OK and scroll to a contact.
5Press ADD and scroll to any other contact/s you
wish to add.
6Press SEND to send the message.

When you receive a message you will see 1 New message
on your screen. Press Read to open the message. You
can reply to the message by pressing Reply.

a few shortcuts you’ll find very useful
voicemail
Press and hold 1. If your voicemail number is pre-
set, you will connect. If not, press 1then Store. If you
don’t know the number, ask your service provider.
recent calls
Quickly see your call history by pressing s>Call Log.
You can then choose to access your Received Calls, Dialed Calls
or Call Times.
lock/unlock keys
Prevent accidental calls by pressing sfollowed
by *. Your screen will go black and your keys
are locked.
music player
Press MUSIC (left soft key) from the home screen.

To set quick text on your home screen press s>
wSettings>Personalize > Home Screen > Home Keys > Up, Down, Left,
or Right > Quick Text.

Copy music to your phone’s memory card.
1With a memory card inserted and your phone in
the home screen, insert the USB cable in your
phone and your PC.
2On your phone, press Yes to connect your phone
as a storage device. Name the device “W233
Mobile” and click Finish.
3On your computer, open Microsoft® Windows®
Media Player 11.
4On the Sync tab, select More Options. Under
Device, select W233 Mobile.
5Select Properties, check the “Create folder
hierarchy on device” box, and click OK.
TIP: To access music stored on your microSD
memory card, press s> hMultimedia > Music Library >
s > Switch Storage Devices.
Note: You can use your phone to find songs played on
the radio, television, or other music source. For more

1With a memory card inserted and your phone in
the home screen, insert the USB cable in your
phone and your PC.
Note: You can use Microsoft™ Windows™ 2000 or
Windows XP™. Other operating systems may not
be compatible with W233.
2Press Yes to connect your phone as a storage
device.
3Use the My Computer window to find
Removable Device.
4Drag and drop your music, photos and other stuff
that you want to copy.
Two folders are available, Music and Pictures.
To help manage your music, you can also create
more folders in the Music folder.
5When you’re done, use the Safely Remove
Hardware feature to finish.
