Product Overview
The E315 is a single-shot extension mer designed to control plant equipment such as heang, lighng or
aircondioning systems outside of normal occupancy hours. A voltage-free changeover relay output capable of
switching loads of up to 16A, 250V AC is acvated for a congurable Extension me period. This enables equipment
to be immediately acvated then automacally deacvated at the correct me in the future without the user being
present, also bypassing dicult reprogramming procedures oen encountered when used in conjuncon with
convenonal control equipment. The E315 is an extremely user-friendly device with touch-sensive pushbuons, LED
displays and fully adjustable mings, providing simple yet powerful control of devices outside of occupancy hours.
Eecve energy control and benecial me-management of personnel is obtained through the fully congurable
“Extension” period which is adjustable from 0.5 hours to 99 hours (steps of 0.5 hours up to 9.5, then steps of 1 hour
thereaer). A maximum limit for the Extension me can be programmed, ensuring the end-user cannot generate an
extension longer than the authorised user allows.
When not in use, the extension mer enters a power-saving standby mode in an eort to reduce its energy usage.
Product Wiring
IMPORTANT: ensure all electrical connecons are isolated before commencing any work on the unit.
1. Power to the extension mer is provided via the power supply terminals (see Figure 1). The 230V version accepts
a worldwide universal voltage of between 85V and 265V (50/60Hz). The 24V version accepts a wide input range
of 18V to 28V DC or AC (50/60Hz).
2. A voltage-free relay contact output capable of switching loads of up to 16(8)A 250V AC is provided by the
extension mer.
• The Common “COM” terminal is connected to the Normally Open “NO” terminal during the extension period
and is disconnected at all other mes.
Installaon
1. IMPORTANT: ensure all electrical connecons are isolated before commencing any work on the unit.
2. The E315 is designed to be mounted into a 20mm (or deeper) single-gang UK paress or back box.
3. Connect the wiring to the terminal blocks on the extension mer as shown in Figure 1 (or any suitably appropriate
form).
4. Secure the E315 into the paress box using the two supplied M3.5 screws.
5. Fit the supplied screw covers to complete the installaon.

• To remove the screw covers without damage, use an adhesive puy such as blu-tack as an aid.
Operaon
Operaon Modes
The E315 has 3 operang modes:
Standby:
Power-saving mode where the dimmed LED displays show “0” on all digits.
Seng Up:
Bright LED displays with the currently selected display blinking. This mode is used to choose the desired Extension
period.
Running:
Bright LED displays show the me remaining with the “Running” LED blinking. The “Output On” LED illuminates
when the output is acve. Once the extension is complete the unit will revert back to Standby mode.
Conguraon:
The “Running” and “Output On” LEDs blink alternately. This mode is used to congure the maximum Extension
period that the user will be allowed to select up to in the Seng Up mode.
Selecng and Running an Extension
1. Press the “Adjust” buon to wake up the mer from Standby mode (enters Seng Up mode).
•The “Extension” display will start blinking to show it is selected.
2. Repeatedly press or hold down the “Adjust” buon to count up to the required Extension period.
3. Hold down the “Start” buon to start the extension running (enters Running mode).
•The “Running” LED will start blinking to show the extension is running and the “Output On” LED will illuminate to show
the output is acve.
4. To cancel an acve extension at any me, hold down the “Start” buon.
•The unit will go back to the Seng Up mode.
Notes - Seng Up mode
1. If no buon is pressed for 8 seconds, the unit will revert back to Standby mode.
2. If you accidentally go past the desired extension period, you must either:
•Keep going unl the period reaches the end and wraps back to the beginning.
•Wait for the unit to automacally go back into Standby by not pressing any buon for 8 seconds.
Conguring the Maximum Selectable Extension
1. NOTE: Conguraon mode can only be entered once within the rst 2 minutes of the extension mer powering up.
2. From the Standby mode, hold down the “Start” buon.
•The “Running” and “Output On” LEDs will start blinking alternately to show that Conguraon mode has been entered.
The display will also show the current maximum extension that was previously stored.
3. Select the desired maximum extension period by using the “Adjust” buon, the same as described in step 2 of Selecng and
Running an Extension.
4. Hold down the “Start” buon to save the new maximum extension period.
•The new value will be permanently stored and the unit will revert back to Standby mode. Conguraon mode cannot be
entered again unless the unit is power-cycled.
Notes - Conguraon Mode
1. If you accidentally select the Conguraon mode and do not want to save any changes, you must either:
•Overwrite the maximum with the same original value.
•Wait 2 minutes without pressing any buons so the unit automacally reverts back to Standby mode. All changes will be
lost.
•Reset the extension mer by powering it o and on again. All changes will be lost.
