MS3C-300TSB Aluminum Alloy Emergency Battery Powered Stair Evacuation
Chair
IMPORTANT: Prior to deploying stair evacuation chair in an actual
emergency, make sure to familiarize your team with unit and to test it
without a passenger. Make certain to always follow applicable safety
protocols.
Deploying Chair:
1. To unfold chair, release seatbelt, grasp backrest with one hand and
grasp seat with or hand. Slowly guide chair into a full open position.
2. chair will automatically lock when chair reaches its full open position.
You may now roll chair.
Preparing for Passenger Loading:
1. Roll evacuation chair next to patient, once chair is in position, LOCK
rear wheels.
2. To lock rear wheels, push down red lever located on top of rear
wheels.
3. Make sure locks are engaged by trying to move chair.
4. If chair does not move, you are ready to seat and secure your
passenger.
Loading your Passenger:
1. Assist your passenger into seat using side handlebars for
support and balance if necessary.
2. Place passenger’s feet on foot rest
3. Secure your passenger with horizontal lap belt.
Patient Transport Descending Stairs:
NOTE: 300TSB is designed to be deployed by a single operator.
However, when available, a second operator should assist with
operation of power evacuation chair.
1. TOP operator will position evacuation chair to top of staircase.
2. Turn on battery pack located underneath seat. Make sure to
turn key 2 full clicks.
3. TOP operator will LOCK rear casters.

4. Open track system by pushing red release lever located
behind seat.
5. Extended track as required and lock. Make sure track is in
locked position by trying to slide track in or out. If it does
not move, track is locked.
6. Raise upper telescoping control handle located behind
passenger’s head to a comfortable height. To extend guide
bar push horizontal chrome bar located across back of seat.
7. Attach passenger removable passenger head support
around upright guide bar, firmly secure by pressing on
hook-n-loop tabs.
8. SUPPORT operator (if available) will extend lower
telescoping control handles by pushing red release buttons
located on top of guide bar. Extend control handle into
outmost locked position.
9. Make sure telescoping control handles are locked by
pushing or pulling on handles without pressing on red
button. If they do not move, handles are locked.
10. SPOTTER (if applicable) will position themselves behind SUPPORT operator (when available).
11. TOP operator will disengage locked casters by pushing grey unlock tab located on top of rear casters.
12. Slowly, tilt chair back keeping tracks aligned with staircase and begin descent.
13. TOP operator will push “DOWN”button on control panel to start descent.
14. Operator(s) will maintain guide angle
15. TOP operator will apply pressure slightly down while SUPPORT
operator (when available) applies pressure slightly up. This will keep
tracks engaged with stairs
16. When chair reaches bottom of staircase, TOP operator will tilt chair
forward to an upright position making sure front wheels are securely
placed on round.
17. SUPPORT operator (when available) retracts lower telescoping
control handles back to locked closed position.
18. TOP operator will then disengage track by pushing red release bar
located on back of chair and pushing in.
19. Make sure track is in closed locked position by pulling on it in and
out. If track does not move, track is locked. Disengaging track will
engage rear wheels.
20. To roll chair, TOP operator will extend rear push handles.
Patient Transport Ascending Stairs:
1. Position evacuation chair with patients back to stairs.
2. Slowly, tilt chair back keeping tracks aligned with staircase and begin
ascent.

3. Operator(s) will maintain guide angle.
4. TOP operator will apply pressure slightly down while SUPPORT operator (when available) applies pressure
slightly up. This will keep tracks engaged with stairs
5. Operator(s) will push “UP” button on control panel and guide chair up one stair at a time.
6. Spotter (if applicable) will be positioned below SUPPORT operator (when available).
7. Once at top of stairs, TOP operator will back up far enough to
safely tilt chair into its full upright position making sure front
wheels are securely placed on ground.
8. SUPPORT operator (when available) retracts telescoping control
handles back to locked closed position.
9. TOP operator will then disengage track by pushing red release bar
located on back of chair and pushing it upward and inward.
Disengaging track will engage rear wheels.
10. Make sure track is in closed locked position by pulling on it in and
out. If track does not move, track is locked.
11. To roll chair, TOP operator will engage push handles and direct
chair as necessary.
To Fold Chair:
1. Turn off battery, by turning key to off position.
2. Remove and set aside removable backrest.
3. Place chair backwards onto its track.
4. Grab backrest with one hand and pull red folding bar
located under chair with or hand.
5. Guide chair into its folded position.
6. Use seatbelt to secure chair into its folded position by
placing seat belt around outside of chair and locking it. Pull
seatbelt tight to secure chair into its locked position.
7. When not in use, battery should be charged.
To Charge Battery:
1. When chair is not in use, make sure to charge battery.
2. To charge battery, unscrew the retainer ring on the power supply cable plugged into battery. Remove the plug
from battery.
3. Insert power plug from supplied external power converter into battery.
4. Plug power converter into a standard wall socket.
5. Before use, check power charge on battery.
6. To use chair, unplug external power converter from wall socket.
7. Remove external power plug from the battery.
8. Insert chair’s power plug into battery and tighten retaining ring.
9. Push On Power Button on Control Panel to operate chair.
