CPUsocketcalled Socket-939foreasyCPUinstallation. Whenyouareinstalling the
CPU, makesuretheCPUhasaheatsinkandacoolingfanattached onthe
toptopreventoverheating. If you donothavetheheatsinkand cooling fan,
contactyourdealertopurchaseand install thembeforeturningonthecomputer.

Overheating
Overheatingwillseriouslydamage theCPUandsystem,alwaysmake
surethe cooling fan can workproperlytoprotectthe CPUfrom
overheating.
Replacing theCPU
WhilereplacingtheCPU,alwaysturnofftheATXpowersupplyor
unplug the powersupply spowercordfromgroundedoutletfirstto
ensurethe safetyofCPU.
Overclocking
Thismotherboardisdesignedtosupportoverclocking.However,
pleasemakesureyourcomponentsareabletotoleratesuchabnor-
malsetting,whiledoing overclocking.Anyattempttooperatebeyond
productspecificationsisnotrecommended. Wedo notguarantee
thedamagesorriskscausedbyinadequateoperationorbe-
yond productspecifications.

installing the CPU.
2.Pulltheleversidewaysaway
fromthe socket.Makesureto
raisetheleverup toa90-de-
greeangle.
3. Lookforthegold arrowonthe
CPU.Thegold arrowshould point
asshowninthepicture.TheCPU
canonlyfitinthecorrect
orientation.LowertheCPUdown
ontothesocket.
4.If theCPUiscorrectlyinstalled,
thepinsshould becompletely
embeddedintothesocketand
cannotbeseen.Pleasenote
thatanyviolation ofthe correct
installationproceduresmay
causepermanentdamagesto
yourmainboard.
5.Press theCPUdownfirmlyinto
thesocketandclosethelever.
AstheCPUislikelytomovewhile

Whenyouareinstalling the CPU, make suretheCPUhas aheatsinkand
acoolingfanattachedonthetop topreventoverheating. If you donothave
the heat sinkandcoolingfan, contact yourdealertopurchaseandinstallthembefore
turning onthecomputer.

DIMM ModuleCombination
InstallatleastoneDIMM module ontheslots. EachDIMMslot supportsup toa
maximumsizeof1GB.Userscan install eithersingle-ordouble-sidedmodulesto
meettheirownneeds.Usersmayinstall memorymodulesofdifferenttypeand
densityondifferent-channelDDRDIMMs. However, memorymodules ofthesame
typeanddensity arerequiredwhileusing dual-channelDDR,orinstabilitymay
happen.
The mainboardprovides4slotsfor184-pinDDRDIMM(Double In-Line Memory
Module)modulesandsupportsthe memorysizeupto4GB.You caninstall DDR333/
400moduleson the DDRDIMMslots(DIMM1~4).

1. The DDRDIMM hasonlyonenotchon thecenterof module.Themodule will
onlyfitin therightorientation.
2. Insertthe DIMMmemorymoduleverticallyintotheDIMMslot.Thenpushitin
until thegoldenfingeronthememorymodule isdeeplyinsertedinthesocket.
3. Theplasticclip ateachsideof theDIMM slotwill automaticallyclose.

Thisconnectorallowsyoutoconnectan ATX24-pin powersupply. Tocon-
necttheATX24-pinpowersupply, makesurethe plug ofthe power
supplyisinsertedin theproperorientation andthe pinsarealigned.
Then pushdownthepowersupplyfirmlyintothe connector.
Youmayusethe20-pinATXpowersupplyasyou like.If
you’dliketousethe 20-pinATXpowersupply,pleaseplugyour
powersupplyalongwithpin 1&pin 13 (refertotheimageatthe
righthand). Thereisalsoafoolproofdesign on pin 11,12, 23 &24
toavoid wrong installation.
