CANOPY MOUNTING
(TOP OR END MOUNT)
1. Remove face plate cover by pulling
evenly at outer rim of face plate on
two opposite sides. Remove ground
wire from face plate (Fig. 6).
2. Pop out mounting hole cover on
top or end of the fixture. Place one
of the nuts from threaded stem rod
in slot inside the housing just inside of
unit (Fig. 1).
3. Feed AC supply and ground wire
through the nut and hole and out
of the fixture housing (Fig. 2).
4. Secure the canopy J-Box cover to
the mount area of the fixture by
positioning it to align the hole.
5. Feed AC supply wires and ground wire
through threaded stem, and screw
stem into nut inside unit. Screw the
remaining nut for the threaded steam
onto the steam, and tighten securely
to complete the mounting of the
canopy to the exit sign (Fig. 3).
6. Determine the direction the
fixture should be mounted (which way
the face should be pointing).
Use the included round J-Box mounting
plate and small #8-32 screws to
accomplish this (Fig. 4).
7. Make connection with the AC supply
wires in the J-Box as described in the
wiring diagram.
8. Now mount the sign to the J-Box plate
with (2) #8-32 screws provided and
tighten securely (Fig. 5).
9. Remove the proper chevron(s), if
necessary, and reattach ground
wire to the face plate (Fig. 6).
10. Attach battery jumper wire to PC
board and reattach face plate.
BACK MOUNTING
1. Remove face plate cover by pulling
evenly at the outer rim of face plate
on two opposite sides (Fig. 6).
2. Remove the center knockout in back-
plate as well as required knockouts
that will match the junction box.
3. Route the wires through the center
knockout. Make electrical connections
inside the junction box as described
in the ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
section. Push wires against the back
of the sign to minimize any of the
wires interfering with the illumination
of the letters.
4. Now mount the sign to the J-Box.
5. Remove the proper chevron(s), if
necessary and reattach the ground
wire to the face plate (Fig. 6).
6. Attach battery jumper wire to PC
board and reattach face plate.
