1. Introduction
asaan/asaan-p machine provides facility of printing twelve
channel ECG report on A4 paper with measurement &
interpretation. Also it has thermal printing facility.
It takes full advantage of today's digital technology and has
been built to perform reliably for a long time. It is controlled by
a microcontroller.
asaan- It is without thermal printer.
asaan-P-it is with thermal printer.
Do’s Of Operations
Place the machine as far away as possible from the main
electric lines and from sources of static electricity. The ECG
signal can show disturbances caused by electromagnetic

interference if the machine is situated close to sources of
high voltage or electric lines.
The patient should be disconnected temporarily from the
ECG machine during defibrillation by removing the electrode
from patient.
Use exclusively chemical coated thermal paper
Store chemical coated thermal paper away from heat & light.
The paper roll will gradually discolor if it is exposed
continuously to heat, high humidity or direct sunlight.
Use the machine only with the original accessories,
machine uses a line thermal print head, so avoid operating it
in dusty environment so as not to shorten the life of print
head.

Do not subject the machine to any impact or excessive
vibration (Vibration other than in normal use).
Beware of risks of explosion if the machine is used in the
presence of flammable anesthetic.
Do not use in the vicinity of a device, which generates a high
frequency e.g. electro surgical unit.
Unauthorized modification or repair may cause failure or
malfunction.
Avoid positioning the close to other clinical therapeutic
instruments (i.e. X-ray and ultrasound instruments,
electrically moving beds, etc.) which could be a source of
considerable interference to the ECG signal.
If it is not possible to setup the machine away from other
electrical instruments, make sure these instruments are OFF
when recording an electrocardiogram.
During ECG recording patient or its cable electrodes should
not meet any conducting object, even if these are earthed.
Never use wax coated paper to avoid following problem;
It will damage print head of recorder.
Proper print density will not be obtained.
Printer head reliability is lowered.

2. Installation Procedure:
1. First check and inspect all the items received. If anything
is found missing and/or damaged, inform service engineer
immediately. Under such condition, do not proceed with
installation of the machine.
2. If all items are received in good condition, then put the
machine on the table, where it is to be installed.
3. Turn On the screen.Use button shown in below figure
to turn on screen and wait till complete boot.

4. Once screen is completely ON, turn on Wi-Fi and search
Wi-Fi printer. Connect machine to printer.
5. If machine is not connected to printer, then go to
settings- printing – print service plug in- turn service plug
in ON – check your printer is displayed in service plug in.

guide.
6. Add your Gmail account in Gmail application to use email
facility in asaan,refer point 5.10 in troubleshooting guide
7. Insert Fuse in fuse holder.
8. Connect adaptor to the mains and switch ON the mains
supply.

9. Now switch ON by pressing ON/OFF power switch button
at left side of the machine for 4-5 seconds.
To Switch OFF the unit, press the same button for 8-9 seconds,
following screen will be displayed, press ‘ok’ to switch off the
machine.

10. Following is the main screen as soon as you switch ON the
unit

11. Prepare patient and connect patient cable to patient.
Refer Appendix-B for patient preparation.
12. Connect patient cable to patient cable connector on
machine.

3. Quick Start:
1. Main Screen of the unit is as shown below.

2. Click on ‘patient’ option on main screen.
3. The next page is patient search page, as shown below

4. You can view patient list by clicking ‘search’ button or Enter
patient details like patient name, DOB, mobile number
to search patient.

Note: Please enter complete details; it will help you search
the particular patient.
5. After entering patient details, Click on search button, this
will provide you registered patient with the same details. If
patient with same details is not registered then message
“No records found” will appear on screen.
6. You can do registration by entering the personal patient
details. Click on ‘Update’ button to register the patient.
7. There are Compulsory Fields ‘*’ – These fields are
mandatory.

8. After registration following window will be displayed.

9. Press “New ECG” button,You can view the ECG of patient on
the acquisition screen where 12 leads are displayed in 6 X 2
channel format as shown below.

10. In acquisition screen, save and print button gets enabled
after 10 sec,
11. When you click on the ‘ print’ button, it will direct you to
the Mopria wifi printing option.

12. When you click on “Save” button, as per set ECG mode in
configuration median screen OR ECG screen will be
displayed.

13. ‘Print thermal’ and ‘print A4’ button on median screen is
used to print the data with interpretation.
14. ‘ECG’ button is given to view old and current Resting ECG
report of selected patient
15. ‘Retest’ is given to take test again.
16. Functions of different buttons on median screen are
mentioned on in ‘Configuring the system’.
17. You can see the log and status of the ECG in “Review tests”
window as shown below.

13. In emergency case, you can take the ECG without doing
registration by pressing emergency button on main screen.
When emergency is pressed acquisition screen will appear
and “save” button is enabled after 10 sec& ECG data of the
patient will be saved. If “exit’ button on emergency
acquisition screen is pressed then test conducted not saved.
14. You can link the emergency data by clicking on link
emergency in patient page as shown below.

4. Configuring the system
1. You will see the following screen as shown in Fig.

Review tests – To view list of all conducted tests.

Patient:
A. OPD section
After clicking on patient you will go to

Click Search- to get the list of all registered patients
Fill patient details and click search- to get the search results
of patient with entered details.
If patient with entered name is already registered then
“select” button gets enabled then click on “select”, patient
event log page will be opened.
If patient with entered name is not registered, “no records
found” message will be displayed on screen
Click on register new- to register new patient. This button
gets enable when no records found message appears on
screen
