ko figuratio e , det kørte bare hurtigt. Desværre er det slut u har jeg de 25/4 Mbit
som jeg betaler for. Jeg ku e ellers godt ve de mig til de a de hastighed.

Router Status Help
You ca use the Router Status page to check the curre t setti gs a d statistics for your router. This
page shows you the curre t setti gs. If somethi g eeds to be cha ged, you'll have to cha ge it o
the releva t page.
Account Name: This is the Accou t Name that you e tered i the Setup Wizard or Basic Settings.
Firmware Version: This is the curre t software the router is usi g. This will cha ge if you upgrade
your router.
ADSL Port: These are the curre t setti gs that you set i the Setup Wizard or Basic Settings pages.
•MAC Address - the physical address of the Router, as see from the I ter et.
•IP Address - curre t I ter et IP address. If assig ed dy amically, a d o I ter et co ectio
exists, this will be bla k or 0.0.0.0
•DHCP - i dicates either Client (IP address is obtai ed dy amically) or None.
•IP Sub et Mask - the sub et mask associated with the I ter et IP address Domai Name
Server - displayes the address of the curre t DNS.
LAN Port: These are the curre t setti gs, as set i the LAN IP Setup page.
•MAC Address - the physical address of the Router, as see from the local LAN.
•IP Address - LAN IP address of the Router.
•DHCP - i dicates if the Router is acti g as a DHCP Server for devices o your LAN.
•IP Sub et Mask - sub et mask associated with the LAN IP address.
Modem: The curre t Modem status a d setti gs are show i this sectio .
•ADSL Firmware Versio - This is the versio umber of the low-level ADSL firmware. This
is co tai ed withi the Router Firmware.
•Modem Status - the curre t state of the ADSL co ectio to your pho e compa y.
•Dow Stream Co ectio Speed - the co ectio speed of the ADSL co ectio from the
pho e compa y to your Router.
•UpStream Co ectio Speed - the co ectio speed of the ADSL co ectio from your
Router to the pho e compa y.
•VPI - the VPI setti g e tered o the ADSL Setti gs page.
•VCI - the VCI setti g e tered o the ADSL Setti gs page.
Wireless Port: These are the curre t setti gs, as set i the Wireless Settings page.
•Name (SSID) - SSID of the Router.
•Regio - the locatio (cou try).
•Cha el - the curre t cha el i use.
•Mode - i dicates the curre t mode ( g & b, g, or b )
•Wireless AP - i dicates if the Access Poi t feature of the Router is e abled or ot. If ot
e abled, the Wireless LED o the fro t pa el will be off.
•Broadcast Name - i dicates if the Router is broadcasti g its SSID.
Click Show Statistics to see router performa ce statistics such as the umber of packets se t a d
umber of packets received for each port.

Smart Setup Wizard - USB Drive Help
The VVG2000 allows file shari g if a USB hard drive of flash memory is co ected to the USB
port. Please co sult the Refere ce Ma ual for detailed co figuratio i formatio .
As soo as a USB hard disk or flash memory is attached to VVG2000 USB port, users o the local
area etwork ca access the USB drive with full read a d write access.
Users from local area etwork or the I ter et ca also access the USB drive usi g FTP access. The
Smart Setup Wizard will guide you through the FTP setup process.
Enter the folder name to share
Whe the user accesses files via FTP, this is the root folder that will be displayed.
Enter the FTP login name to give access to this folder
Type the FTP logi accou t ame that you wa t to have accessed to the folder.
Enter the FTP login password
Type a password for the FTP logi accou t.
Select the FTP access rights
Selecti g Read o ly will allow the user to retrieve data files usi g FTP. Selecti g Read a d Write
will allow the user to read a d write data files.
Note: A y FTP accesses from the I ter et will have Read o ly access rights, regardless of the
accou t rights gra ted here.

Add WPS Client Help
WPS sta ds for Wi-Fi Protected Setup. This is a process that let you add a wireless clie t to the
etwork easily, a d you do 't have to specificly co figure the wireless setti gs like SSID, security
mode, a d passphrase.
You ca select to add a wireless clie t either through the "Push Butto " or "PIN Number".
With the "Push Butto " method, you have to complete the process by clicki g a butto o the clie t
(either a hardware butto or a software butto o the clie t's utility GUI).
With the "PIN Number" method, you have to e ter the clie t's PIN here. You have to start the clie t
WPS process at the same time, a d you ca fi s the clie t's PIN o the clie t's utility GUI.

ADSL Settings Help
The default parameters should be correct to match the system used by your ISP
•Multiplexi g Method - Your ISP will i dicate whether your Multiplexi g Method is VC-
BASED or LLC-BASED.
•Virtual Circuit - Your ISP will i dicate which VPI/VCI combi atio is used for your service.
Co ectio service guara tees are specified per ATM VPI/VCI by a set of measurable co ectio
parameters. Please check your ISP to set the proper parameters. If you do 't k ow how to co figure
them, please keep them as default.
•UBR (U specified Bit Rate): The protocol that provides spare ba dwidth to o -critical
services such as file tra sfers. The actual rate depe d o the ba dwidth of the curre t
etwork.
•CBR(Co sta t Bit Rate): Real-time co ectio with a specified amou t of guara teed
ba dwidth (PCR) that is co ti uously available duri g the co ectio life-time.
•VBR-rt (Real-Time Variable Bit Rate): Similar as CBR i te ded for real-time applicatio s
with co strai ed delay a d delay variatio values, but which ca be efit from variable bit-
rates. The average guara teed ba dwidth is SCR, but data up to PCR may be se t for a
limited amou t of data specified by MBS. A VBR-rt co ectio is characterized by PCR,
SCR, MBS.
•VBR- rt (No -Real-Time Variable Bit Rate): I te ded for o -real-time applicatio s that
have bursty traffic characteristics a d o strict tra sfer delay requireme ts but which require
a amou t of guara teed ba dwidth. A VBR- rt co ectio is characterized by a average
guara teed ba dwidth (SCR) up to a maximum guara teed ba dwidth (PCR) for a burst
with specified maximum size (MBS).
•PCR (Peak Cell Rate): Maximum umber of ATM cells per seco d that may be se t o the
co ectio .
•SCR (Sustai able Cell Rate): Average umber of ATM cells per seco d that may be se t o
the co ectio .
•MBS (Maximum Burst. Size): Maximum umber of ATM cells that may be se t i a burst,
a d thus exceedi g the average umber of cells (SCR) up to the maximum umber of cells
(PCR) for a limited umber of ATM cells defi ed by MBS.

NETGEAR Router.

Basic Settings Help
Note: If you are setti g up the Router for the first time, the default setti gs may work for you with
o cha ges.
Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?
Select this optio based o the type of accou t you have with your ISP. If you eed to e ter logi
i formatio every time you co ect to the I ter et or you have a PPPoE accou t with your ISP,
select Yes. Otherwise, select No.
Note: If you have i stalled PPP software such as Wi PoET (from Earthli k) or E ter et (from
PacBell), the you have PPPoE. Select Yes. After selecti g Yes a d co figuri g your Router, you
will ot eed to ru the PPP software o your PC to co ect to the I ter et.
Account Name
(also k ow as Host Name or System Name)
For most users, type your accou t ame or user ame i this box. For example, if your mai mail
accou t is [e-mail], the put JerAB i this box.
If your ISP has give you a specific Host ame, the type it (for example, CCA7324-A).
Domain Name
For most users, you may leave this box bla k, u less required by your ISP. You may type the
domai ame of your ISP. For example, if your ISP's mail server is mail.xxx.yyy.zzz, you would
type xxx.yyy.zzz as the Domai Name.
If you have a Domai ame give to you by your ISP, type it i this box. (For example, Earthli k
Cable may require a Host ame of 'home' a d Comcast sometimes supplies a Domai ame.)
Internet IP Address
If you log i to your service or your ISP did ot provide you with a fixed IP address, the Router will
fi d a IP address for you automatically whe you co ect. Select Get Dynamically From ISP.
If you have a fixed (or static IP) address, your ISP will have provided you with the required
i formatio . Select Use Static IP Address a d type the IP Address, Sub et Mask a d Gateway IP
Address i to the correct boxes.

For example:
•IP Address: 24.218.156.183
•Sub et Mask: 255.255.255.0
•Gateway IP Address: 24.218.156.1
If your ISP uses Classical IP (RFC1577) or Routed RFC1483, select Use IP over ATM (IPOA).
Fill i the i fomatio provided to you by your ISP. Type the IP Address, Sub et Mask, a d Gatway
IP address i to the correct boxes.
Note: It is ot always ecessary to fill i the IPoA Gateway IP Address. I a RFC1577
e viro me t, the gateway ca be discovered automatically.
DNS Address
The DNS server is used to look up site addresses based o their ames.
If your ISP gave you o e or two DNS addresses, select Use These DNS Servers a d type the
primary a d seco dary addresses.
Otherwise, select Get Automatically From ISP.
Note: If you get 'Address ot fou d' errors whe you go to a Web site, it is likely that your DNS
servers are 't set up properly. You should co tact your ISP to get DNS server addresses.
NAT (Network Address Translation)
NAT allows all LAN PCs to gai I ter et access via this Router, by shari g this Router's WAN IP
address. I most situatio s, NAT is esse tial for I ter et access via this Router. You should o ly
disable NAT if you are sure you do ot require it. Whe NAT is disabled, o ly sta dard routi g is
performed by this Router. Disabli g the Firewall will cha ge the default i comi g rule from
"Block" to "Allow",so the protectio s ormally provided by the firewall will be disabled.
Protectio s agai st DoS attacks a d Port Sca s will still be e abled a d ca be modified i the
WAN Setup page.
Router MAC Address
Your computer's local address is its u ique address o your etwork. This is also referred to as the
computer's MAC (Media Access Co trol) address.
Usually, select Use Default MAC Address.
If your ISP requires MAC authe tificatio , the select either Use Computer MAC address to
disguise the Router's MAC address with the Computer's ow MAC address or Use This MAC
Address to ma ually type the MAC address for a differe t computer. The format for the MAC
address is XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. This value may be cha ged if the Use Computer MAC
Address is selected o ce a value has already bee set i the Use This MAC Address selectio .
Apply, Cancel and Test
Click Apply whe you fi ish cha gi g the setti gs.
Click Cancel to retur to the origi al setti gs.
Click Test to co ect to the NETGEAR Web site. If you co ect successfully, your setti gs work
a d you may click Logout to exit these pages a d... e joy surfi g the 'net!

Placeme t of the Router to Optimize Wireless Co ectivity
The operati g dista ce or ra ge of your wireless co ectio ca vary sig ifica tly based o the
physical placeme t of the Router. For best results, place your Router:
•Near the ce ter of the area i which your PCs will operate,
•I a elevated locatio such as a high shelf,
•Away from pote tial sources of i terfere ce, such as PCs, microwaves, a d cordless pho es,
•Away from large metal surfaces.
Note: Failure to follow these guideli es ca result i sig ifica t performa ce degradatio or
i ability to wirelessly co ect to the Router.
Wireless Network
Name (SSID)
E ter a value of up to 32 alpha umeric characters. The same Name (SSID) must be assig ed to all
wireless devices i your etwork. The default SSID is NETGEAR, but NETGEAR stro gly
recomme ds that you cha ge your etworks Name (SSID) to a differe t value. This value is also
case-se sitive. For example, Wireless is ot the same as wireless.
Regio
Select your regio from the drop-dow list. This field displays the regio of operatio for which the
wireless i terface is i te ded. It may ot be legal to operate the Router i a regio other tha the
regio show here. If your cou try or regio is ot listed, please check with your local gover me t
age cy or check our website for more i formatio o which cha els to use.
Cha el
This field determi es which operati g freque cy will be used. It should ot be ecessary to cha ge
the wireless cha el u less you otice i terfere ce problems with a other earby access poi t.
Mode
Select the desired wireless mode. The optio s are:
•Up to 54 Mbps - Legacy Mode with maximum speed of up to 54 Mbps for b/g etworks.
•Up to 130 Mbps - Neighbor Frie dly Mode - Default speed up to 130 Mbps i prese ce of
eighbori g wireless etworks.
•Up to 270 Mbps - Performa ce Mode - Maximum Wireless-N speed up to 270 Mbps.
The default is "Up to 130Mbps", which allows all 11b a d 11g wireless statio s. The NETGEAR
WN511B ru s at 130 Mbps whe accessi g this router.
Wireless Access Point

E able Wireless Access Poi t
The Wireless Access Poi t of this Router ca be e abled or disabled to allow wireless access. The
wireless ico o the fro t of the Router will also display the curre t status of the Wireless Access
Poi t to let you k ow if it is disabled or e abled.
If E abled, wireless statio s will be able to access the I ter et.
If Disabled, wireless statio s will ot be able to access the I ter et.
Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)
If E abled, the SSID will broadcast its ame to all Wireless Statio s. Statio s which have o SSID
(or a " ull" value) ca the adopt the correct SSID for co ectio s to this Access Poi t.
Wireless Isolatio
If E abled, the Wireless Statio s will be hidde from each other, a d will ot be able to
commu icate with each other. For ormal situatio s, this setti g should be left at the default value
of Disabled.
Wireless Station Access List
By default, a y wireless PC that is co figured with the correct SSID will be allowed access to your
wireless etwork. For i creased security, you ca restrict access to the wireless etwork to o ly
allow specific PCs based o their MAC addresses. From the Wireless Settings me u, click the Setup
Access List butto to display the Wireless Statio Access List me u.
Security Options
Select the desired optio , a d e sure all your Wireless statio s have the same setti g:
•Disable - This will disable the security fu ctio . Data will ot be e crypted before
tra smissio .
•WEP - WEP (Wired Equivale t Privacy), if used, e crypts data before tra smissio . This
provides greater security a d privacy. All Wireless Statio s eed to use the same setti gs
(WEP Key size a d WEP key).
•WPA-PSK - This versio of WPA uses a PSK (Pre-shared Key) for authe ticatio , so you
do 't eed a Radius Server. All Wireless statio s eed to use the same PSK (Pre-shared
Key). Data tra smissio s are e crypted usi g a 256 Bit key derived from the PSK. This key
cha ges regularly, providi g greater protectio . WPA is more secure tha WEP, a d should
be used if possible.
•WPA-802.1x - This versio of WPA requires the use of a Radius server for authe ticatio .
Each user (Wireless Clie t) must have a "user" logi o the Radius Server, a d this device
must have a "clie t" logi o the Radius server. Data tra smissio s are e crypted usi g a
key which is automatically ge erated.
WEP Security Encryption
Authe ticatio Type
Normally this ca be left at the default value of "Automatic." If that fails, select the appropriate

value - "Ope System" or "Shared Key." Check your wireless card's docume tatio to see what
method to use.
E cryptio Stre gth
Select the WEP E cryptio level:
•64-bit (sometimes called 40-bit) e cryptio
•128-bit e cryptio
WEP Key
You ca ma ually or automatically program the four data e cryptio keys. These values must be
ide tical o all PCs a d Access Poi ts i your etwork.
Automatic Key Ge eratio (Passphrase)
E ter a word or group of pri table characters i the Passphrase box a d click the Ge erate butto to
automatically co figure the WEP Key(s). If e cryptio stre gth is set to 64 bit, the each of the four
key boxes will automatically be populated with key values. If e cryptio stre gth is set to 128 bit,
the o ly the selected WEP key box will automatically be populated with key values.
Ma ual E try Mode
Select which of the four keys will be used a d e ter the matchi g WEP key i formatio for your
etwork i the selected key box.
For 64 bit WEP - E ter te hexadecimal digits (a y combi atio of 0-9, A-F).
For 128 bit WEP - E ter twe ty-six hexadecimal digits (a y combi atio of 0-9, A-F).
Be sure to click Apply to save your setti gs i this me u.
WPA-PSK Security Encryption
Network Key
For WPA-PSK, you eed to e ter the Network Key here. The Key must be from 8 to 63 ASCII
characters. Your Wireless Statio s must use the same key.
WPA Encryption
Curre tly, o ly TKIP is supported. E sure your Wireless Statio s are also usi g TKIP. Normally,
this is the default. If there is o choice of e cryptio methods for WPA-PSK, the you ca assume
TKIP will be used.
WPA-8 2.1x Security Encryption
Radius Server Name/IP Address
E ter the ame or IP address of the Radius Server o your LAN.
•Each user (Wireless Clie t) must have a "user" logi o the Radius Server.
•This device must have a "clie t" logi o the Radius server. The logi ame is the ame of
this device.
Radius Port

USB Drive Settings Help
The VVG2000 allows file shari g whe a USB hard drive or flash memory is co ected to the USB
port.
Please co sult the Refere ce Ma ual for detailed co figuratio i formatio .
To access the USB Drive via FTP, use a y FTP tool or type ftp://ipaddress i a Web browser such
as Microsoft I ter et Explorer or Netscape. The ipaddress e tered is the Web IP address of the
router, which ca be located o the Router Status me u as the IP address of the I ter et Port.
To access the USB Drive via Microsoft etwork co ectio s, click Wi dows Start -> Ru a d type
\\ipaddress. The ipaddress e tered is the local IP address of the router, for example, 192.168.0.1.
Typi g \\hostname i Wi dows Explorer is also a alter ative. The host ame e tered is the Host
Name specified i the Network Access sectio , for example, VVG2000.
Network Access
Host Name & Workgroup
The Host Name a d workgroup combi atio is the ame used to ide tify the router i your
etwork. The attached USB drive ca be easily accessed by typi g \\hostname i Wi dows
Explorer.
FTP Port
FTP port is the TCP port umber of the embedded FTP server. The default value is 21.You ca also
cha ge to a y port betwee 1024 a d 65535.
To Apply
Click Apply to save the ew setti gs to the Router.
FTP Access
FTP accou ts ca be created by clicki g the Add butto . These FTP accou ts will allow users o
the LAN or I ter et to access the files o the attached USB drive.
To Add,Edit,Delete or Eject Disk
Click Add to add a ew i formatio .
Click Edit to edit the selected i formatio .
Click Delete to delete the selected i formatio .
Click Eject Disk to eject the USB device.
Attached Device
This table shows the partitio i formatio of the attached USB drive, i cludi g the share ame a d
file system type.

Click Refresh to update the Attached Device table.

VoIP Status Help
This page shows the curre t status of your VoIP (Voice over I ter et Protocol) co ectio .
Line 1/Line 2
•Display Name: This is the ame you have already chose whe you first ope ed your
accou t. Your "Display Name" will be visible to other i dividuals with caller ID.
If your display ame appears as "UNAVAILABLE", either your accou t has ot bee
established or your router has bee u able to co ect to the I ter et.
•Telephone Number: This is the telepho e umber other people will use whe they call you.
This umber was assig ed to your router whe you first established your accou t. Each li e
ca have a differe t telepho e umber.
If your Telepho e Number appears as "pho e umber", either your accou t has ot bee
established or your router has bee u able to co ect to the I ter et.
Line Status
•Hook State: The "Hook State" displays the co ditio of the telepho e receiver. ON
i dicates the receiver is "o -the-hook", while OFF i dicates the receiver is "off-the-hook".
•Registration State: Whe your router has successfully co ected to the VoIP servers, the
"Registratio State" will be displayed as "registered". However, if you do ot have a VOIP
accou t or if the router could ot co ect to the VoIP servers, the "Registratio State" will be
displayed as " ot registered".

Logs Help
Your Router will log security-related eve ts such as de ied i comi g service requests, hacker
probes, a d admi istrator logi s, accordi g to your setti gs o this scree .
If you have set up co te t filteri g o the Block Sites page, you ca also log whe someo e o your
etwork tried to access a blocked site.
If you have e-mail otificatio o , you'll receive these logs i a e-mail message. If you do 't have
e-mail otificatio set up, you ca view the logs here.
To delete all log e tries:
•Click Clear Log.
To see the most rece t e tries:
•Click Refresh.
To email the log ow:
•Click Send Log.
Include in Log
Use these checkboxes to determi e which eve ts are i cluded i the log. Checki g all optio s will
i crease the size of the log, so it is good practice to disable a y eve ts which are ot really required.
•Attempted access to blocked sites - If checked, attempted I ter et accesses which were
blocked are logged.
•Co ectio s to the Web-based i terface of this Router - If checked, this will log co ectio s
TO this Router, rather tha through this Router to the I ter et.
•Router operatio - If checked, other Router operatio s ( ot covered by the selectio s above)
will be logged.

The Logs ca be se d to a Syslog server. E able o e of these three optio s, as required:
•Disable - Select this if you do 't have a Syslog server.
•Broadcast o LAN - the Syslog data is broadcast, rather tha se t to a specific Syslog server.
Use this if your Syslog Server does ot have a fixed IP address.
•Se d to this Syslog server IP address - If your Syslog server has a fixed IP address, select
this optio , a d e ter the IP address of your Syslog server.

Block Sites Help
If you wa t to limit access to certai sites o the I ter et, you eed to set up co te t filteri g. There
are two ways to filter co te t:
•blocki g access to certai domai s (for example, por oXXXsiteXXX.com) or
•blocki g sites that co tai s certai words (like profa ity or explicit sexual material).
Whe users try to access a blocked site, they will get a message: "Blocked by NETGEAR".
To Enable Block Sites:
Click Per Schedule to tur o Block Sites a d block accordi g to the setti gs o the
Schedule page.
Click Always to tur o Block Sites to allow blocki g all of the time, i depe da t of the
Schedule page.
Note: O the Schedule page you ca set whe keyword a d domai ame blocki g occurs.
To Disable Block Sites:
Click Never to tur off Block Sites.
To Block Keywords Or Internet Domains:
1. Select whe to tur o Keyword Blocking (Never, Per Schedule, or Always).
2. I the box where you see Type Keyword Or Domain Name Here, type the word or domai
ame you wa t to block.
3. Click Add Keyword.
4. The word or domai ame will appear i the list below.
5. Co ti ue addi g ames a d keywords u til you are fi ished.
6. Click Apply whe fi ished.
Block List - The list u der the headi g "Block Sites Co tai i g these Keywords or Domai
Names" co tai s the curre t list of items to block.
To Delete A Keyword Or Domain Name:
1. Select the word or domai ame i the list.
2. Click Delete Keyword.
3. Co ti ue selecti g a d deleti g ames a d keywords u til you are fi ished.
4. Click Apply.
To Delete All Keywords And Domain Names:
1. Click Clear List.
2. Click Apply.
To Allow One Computer To Have Unrestricted Access To The Internet:
1. Select the Allow Trusted IP Address To Visit Blocked Sites check box.

2. Type the IP address of the computer i the Trusted IP Address area.
You should o ly eed to type a umber i the last box.
3. Click Apply.
To Allow Unrestricted Access To The Internet:
1. Select Never i the Keyword Blocking me u.

Firewall Rules Help
You ca use this scree to create Firewall rules to block or allow specific traffic. This feature is for
Advanced Administrators only! I correct co figuratio will cause serious problems.
Outbound Services
This lists all existi g rules for outbou d traffic. If you have ot defi ed a y rules, o ly the default
rule will be listed. The default rule allows all outgoi g traffic.
To create a ew rule:
1. Click the "Add" butto . (It does ot matter which radio butto is selected)
2. The "Outbou d Service" scree will be displayed. This scree has its ow help file.
3. Complete the "Outbou d Service" scree , a d save the data. The ew rule will be listed i
the table whe you retur to this scree .
To make cha ges to a existi g rule:
1. Click the radio butto ext to a row i the table.
2. Click the butto for the desired actio s:
•Edit - to make a y cha ges to the rule defi itio . The "Outbou d Service" scree will
be displayed, with the data for the selected rule.
•Move - to move the selected rule to a ew positio i the table. You will be prompted
for the ew positio .
•Delete - to delete the selected rule.
Inbound Services
This lists all existi g rules for i bou d traffic. If you have ot defi ed a y rules, o ly the default
rule will be listed. The default rule blocks all i bou d traffic.
