Baseplate Assembly
For this step, you will need parts A, B, E, F, H (x4), I (x4), and a Philips screw driver.

Align the Unwinder and Rewinder Baseplates on a flat stable surface, as shown in Figure 1.
Align the Front and Rear Guides with the screw holes on the baseplates, as shown in Figure 2.
Use the Countersunk Screws to secure the Front Guide and the Pan Head Screws to secure the
Rear Guide.

Rewinder
Unwinder
Unwinder and Rewinder Placement
Align Unwinder and Rewinder with baseplate and Tower Alignment Screws, as shown in
Figure 3.

For this step you will need parts C, D, G (x4) and K (x4).

Printer Placement
Place the Baseplate Printer Guide (M) over the Rear Guide (F). Use two people to
place the NeuraLabel 300xST Printer on the Roll Unit Base, as shown in Figure 4.
Note that the assembled system requires about 60 inches of clearance. 7

For this step, you will need part J (2) and part P.

Unwinder Rewinder Printer
Power on the NeuraLabel 300x ST Printer and Roll Units to check them. You will want to turn
off the unwinder and rewinder while webbing the media.

Slide on Rolled Media and Flange.
Loosen Unwinder Hub by rotating knob
counterclockwise. Slide Flange off Unwinder Hub.
Retighten Unwinder Hub.

Slide on Core and Flange.
Loosen Rewinder Hub by rotating knob
counterclockwise.
Slide Flange off Rewinder Hub.
Retighten Rewinder Hub.
Warning: Cores come in many sizes. Ensure media fits on core before tightening.

Weave Media underneath Unwinder Tension Arm.

Make sure the unit is turned OFF while loading media. Make sure there is
plenty of slack in the media before loading the printer. Turn ON the
unwinder after this step.

Open the printer lid and adjust the guides to the media width. Then slide the media into
the guides all the way to the back until it touches the media pick wheel.
Make sure the guides are snug around the media. Make sure there is plenty of slack in
the media and that the unwinder is ON.

Adjust Unwinder Position
Loosen the smaller locking screw and adjust UNWINDER position using the larger
alignment screw to center paper path in printer as needed. (Leave the printer lid up
for now so you can see the media.) Retighten the locking screw when done.

Adjust Rewinder Position
Adjust REWINDER position to center the paper path that is feeding out of the printer.
NOTE: Jog the media through the printer all the way to the rewinder core to “web up”
the rewinder before printing. Experienced users will be able to perform media webbing
during printing by using a “slow initial print” option.

Because the Ready Position turns the motors off, now is a good time to
turn on the rewinder power. Keep the arm up to keep the unit OFF.

Place double-sided tape at top of Rewinder Flange as shown. Or use single-sided tape
when attaching media.

Add Star Wheels to Rewinder Arm
Place 2-4 Star Wheels (N) on the rewinder arm. Space the star wheels so that they are
centered on the media and 1-2 inches apart.
The star wheels will protect the rewinder arm from collecting any ink that has not
completely dried.

After jogging the media through the printer (or as media comes out of printer
during a print), weave the media under Rewinder Tension Arm and tape to core.

Release Rewinder Tension Arm

Once the media is secure, slowly release Rewinder Tension Arm from Ready Position
so that it falls onto the media. You will see the rewinder turn. Readjust Rewinder
position if needed (see page 15).
WARNING: Treat the rewinder arm with care, yanking or tugging on the rewinder arm
can cause it to become uncalibrated.

Prepare to Print
✓Make sure all equipment has power and is aligned.
✓Close all printer doors.
✓Remove any cut sheet paper from the printer drawer, as this can press up
and cause drag on the continuous media.
✓Jog the media through the printer to help check alignment.
