IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions must
be followed in order to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock
and/or injury to persons or property. Be sure to read all instructions
before using this appliance and observe the following safety tips:
•This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch the
hot surface. If provided, always use handles when moving this heater. Keep
combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes,
and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep
them away from the sides and rear. Ensure a minimum clearance of 5.5
inches (14 cm) from both sides and rear of heater to adjacent walls. Keep the
rear grille away from walls or drapes so as not to block the air intake.
•Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or
invalids, and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
•Always unplug the heater when not in use. To disconnect, grip plug and pull
from wall outlet. Never yank on cord.
•To disconnect the heater, turn controls to LOW, then remove the plug from
outlet.
•Do not operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug, if the heater
malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return
heater to an authorized service facility for examination, electrical or
mechanical adjustment, or repair.
•Do not use the heater outdoors.
•This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar
humid indoor locations. Never put a heater where it may fall into a bathtub
or other water container.
•Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners
or similar items. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange
cord away from high-traffic areas where it can be tripped over. Route the
cord so that it will not be walked on or pinched by furniture.
•Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Check heater voltage and
amperage on the back of the heater to make sure it agrees with the electric
service supplied.
•Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust
opening as this may case an electric shock, fire, or damage to the heater.
•To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner.
Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become
blocked.

•Use this heater only as describe in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury
to persons.
•This heater draws 23.5 Amps during operation. Be sure to use a dedicated
240VAC, 30A circuit for the heater.
•CAUTION: it is normal for the plug and cord to feel warm to the touch. A
plug or cord which becomes hot to the touch or becomes distorted in shape
may be a result of a worn electrical outlet. Worn outlets or receptacles
should be replaced prior to further use of the heater. Plugging the heater
into a warm outlet/receptacle may result in overheating of the power cord
or fire.
•Ensure the heater is on a stable, secure floor surface to eliminate the
potential of tipping it over.
•Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into the appropriate receptacle. Please
remember that receptacles also deteriorate due to aging and continuous
use: check periodically for signs of overheating or deformations evidenced
by the plug. Should this occur, do not use the receptacle. Call your
electrician.
•Check that neither the appliance nor the power cable has been damaged in
any way during transportation.
•Make sure that no pieces of polystyrene or other packaging material have
been left between one element of the appliance and another. It may be
necessary to clean the appliance with a vacuum cleaner.
•When switching on the appliance for the first time, you may notice a slight
odor which is normal with new electrical appliances. Allow odor to dissipate
by running appliance at full power for about ten minutes. Make sure that the
room in which the appliance is located is well ventilated during this
operation.
•This heater draws 23.5 Amps during operation. To prevent overloading a
circuit, do not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other appliances
working.
•Do not run-in locations when the heater will be left unattended for long
periods of time.
•Do not use attachments or filters. They are not recommended.
•Always plug the heater directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with
an extension cord or portable power tap (outlet/power strip).
•A heater has hot, arcing and sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas
where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
•WARNING- Risk of Fire. Do not use as a residential or household heater.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT!
This heater must be installed on the floor only.
Prior to operating the heater, ensure the electrical receptacle is of the
configuration and capacity appropriate for the heater. This heater uses 240 volts.
The cord has a plug as shown below. No adapter is available for this blade
configuration, and none should be used. The type of receptacle is a 240-volt
rounding receptacle (NEMA 6-30R). When properly installed, it provides a
ground connection through the cord to the heater to protect the operator from
electric shock.

Your heater is equipped with a thermostat. The thermostat function controls
the temperature output.
•Turn the unit on by turning the thermostat control knob away from the LOW
position (clockwise).
•For faster heat-up or to increase the heat output, turn the thermostat
control knob clockwise all the way to HIGH.
•To decrease the heat output, turn the knob counterclockwise.
•Once the room reaches the desired temperature, slowly turn the thermostat
control knob counterclockwise until you hear a “click.” This sets the heater
to cycle ON/OFF to maintain the desired heating temperature for energy
efficiency.

•To completely shut the unit OFF, turn the thermostat control knob to the
LOW position and unplug the heater.
The unit’s fan has two settings:
•ON –operates the fan continuously.
•AUTO –cycles fan on and off as needed to maintain ambient temperature.

CLEANING & STORAGE
BEFORE ANY CLEANING, MAKE SURE THAT:
1. The heater is turned off.
2. The power supply is disconnected at the source by removing the plug from
the power outlet.
REGULAR CLEANING
1. Do not use cleaning liquid or other chemicals to spray on the unit.
2. Interior dust can often be removed by using a vacuum cleaner with a
crevice tool attachment.
3. To clean housing, use a clean, soft and lightly damp cloth to gently wipe all
the dirt from the surface of the unit. Be sure not to wet the heating
element and the switches. Allow the unit to dry completely before using it.
CAUTION: Do not allow water to run into the interior of the heater as this could
create a fire or electric shock hazard, damaging the unit.
STORAGE
1. Perform the cleaning procedures described above.
2. Wipe all parts dry.
3. Pack the heater in a plastic bag and store it in a cool, dry place.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem

LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY
This appliance is covered by a limited manufacturer’s warranty. For one year
from the original date of purchase, the manufacturer will repair or replace any
parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials and
workmanship, provided the appliance has been used under normal operating
conditions as intended by the manufacturer.
Warranty Terms:
During the first year, any components of this appliance found to be defective
due to materials or workmanship will be repaired or replaced, at the
manufacturer’s discretion, at no charge to the original purchaser. The
purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation costs.
Warranty Exclusions:
The warranty will not apply if damage is caused by any of the following:
•Power failure
•Damage in transit or when moving the appliance
•Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective household
wiring or inadequate fuses
•Accident, alteration, misuse or abuse of the appliance such as using
non-approved accessories, inadequate air circulation in the room or
abnormal operating conditions (extreme temperatures)
•Use in commercial or industrial applications
•Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility or acts of God such as
hurricanes, floods, etc.
•Use of force or damage caused by external influences
•Partially or completely dismantled appliances
•Excess wear and tear by the user
Obtaining Service:
When making a warranty claim, please have the original bill of purchase with
the purchase date available. Once confirmed that your appliance is eligible for
warranty service, all repairs will be performed by a Newair™ authorized repair
facility. The purchaser will be responsible for any removal or transportation
costs. Replacement parts and/or units will be new, re-manufactured or
refurbished and is subject to the manufacturer’s discretion. For technical

INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANTES
Lorsque vous utilisez un appareil électrique, les précautions de base,
incluant les suivantes, devraient toujours être respectées afin
d’éviter un risque d’incendie, de choc électrique, et de blessures
corporelles. Veuillez lire toutes les instructions avant d’utiliser cet
appareil et respecter les conseils de sécurité suivants :
•Ce radiateur est chaud lorsqu’il fonctionne. Afin d’éviter les brûlures, ne pas
laisser pas la peau découverte entrer en contact avec ses surfaces. Si le
radiateur est muni de poignées, utilisez-les pour le déplacer. Garder les
matériaux combustibles tels que meubles, coussins, literie, papiers,
vêtements et rideaux à au moins 3 pieds (0,9 mètre) du devant du radiateur,
et tenez-les à l’écart des côtés et de l’arrière. Assurer un dégagement de 5,5
po (14 cm) des deux côtés du radiateur et à l’arrière de tout mur adjacent.
Garder le grillage arrière loin des murs et rideaux afin de ne pas obstruer
l’entrée d’air.
•Faire extrêmement attention lorsque le radiateur est utilisé en présence
d’enfants ou de personnes invalides ou lorsqu’il est utilisé sans supervision.
•Toujours débrancher l’appareil lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé. Pour le débrancher,
saisir la fiche et la retirer de la prise. Ne jamais tirer sur le cordon.
•Pour débrancher l’appareil, mettre le réglage à LOW, puis retirer la fiche de
la prise.
•Ne pas utiliser l’appareil si le cordon ou la fiche sont endommagés, si
l’appareil ne fonctionne pas bien, ou s’il a été échappé ou endommagé de
quelque façon. Si c'est le cas s'adresser au centre de service autorisé pour
obtenir une réparation ou un réglage électrique ou mécanique.
•Ne pas utiliser à l’extérieur.
•Cet appareil ne doit pas être utilisé dans les salles de bains, salles de lavage
ou autres endroits humides semblables dans la maison. Ne jamais placer cet
appareil à un endroit où il pourrait tomber dans une baignoire ou un autre
récipient contenant de l’eau.
•Ne pas placer de fils ou cordon d'alimentation sous la moquette. Ne pas
couvrir les fils ou cordon d'alimentation avec un tapis ou un article
semblable. Ne pas faire passer les fils scouts des meubles ou des
électroménagers. Garder le cordon hors des endroits à circulation élevée où
des personnes pourraient trébucher. Toujours placer les cordons
d'alimentation de manière à éviter qu'on les piétine ou qu'ils soient pincés
par des objets.

•Brancher l’appareil dans des prises correctement mises à la terre seulement.
Vérifier la tension du radiateur et l’ampérage au dos du radiateur pour
s’assurer qu’ils correspondent à l’alimentation fournie.
•Ne pas insérer ni laisser entrer des corps étrangers dans les ouvertures
d'aération, car cela pourrait causer une électrocution, un incendie ou une
détérioration de l'appareil.
•Pour éviter les risques d’incendie, ne pas boucher les entrées d'air ou les
sorties de quelque manière que ce soit. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil sur des
surfaces souples, comme un lit, où les entrées et sorties d'air pourraient être
bloquées.
•Utiliser cet appareil uniquement comme prescrit dans ce manuel. Toute
autre utilisation non recommandée par le fabricant peut entraîner un
incendie, une décharge électrique ou des blessures corporelles.
•Ce radiateur utilise 23.5 ampères pendant son fonctionnement. Assurez-
vous d’utiliser un circuit de 240VAC, 23.5A distinct pour le radiateur.
•Mise en garde : Il est normal que la fiche et le cordon soient chauds au
toucher. Une fiche ou un cordon qui devient chaud au toucher ou qui se
déforme peut-être le résultat d’une prise de courant usée. Les sorties ou
réceptacles usés doivent être remplacés avant de continuer à utiliser
l’appareil. Brancher le radiateur dans une prise chaude peut entraîner une
surchauffe du cordon d’alimentation ou incendie.
•S’assurer que le radiateur est installé sur une surface plane et sécuritaire afin
d’éliminer les risques de renversement.
•Rappel : les prises s’usent également en raison de l’âge et de l’utilisation
continue ; veuillez les vérifier périodiquement pour détecter tout signe de
surchauffe ou de déformation visible de la prise. Dans ce cas, ne pas utiliser
la prise. Appelez un électricien.
•Vérifier que ni l’appareil ni le cordon d’alimentation n’ont été endommagés
pendant le transport.
•S’assurer qu’aucun morceau de polystyrène ou autre matériau d’emballage
n’a été laissé entre les éléments de l’appareil. Il est recommandé de passer
le tuyau d’aspirateur sur le radiateur.
•Au moment de mettre le radiateur en marche pour la première fois, vous
pourriez remarquer une légère odeur, ce qui est normal pour un nouvel
appareil électrique. Laisser l’odeur se dissiper en faisant fonctionner
l’appareil pendant environ 10 minutes. S’assurer que la pièce où se trouve le
radiateur est bien aérée pendant le fonctionnement.
•Ce radiateur utilise 23.5 ampères pendant le fonctionnement. Afin d’éviter
de surcharger un circuit, ne pas brancher le radiateur dans un circuit sur
lequel d’autres appareils sont branchés.
