TheBerk‐TekPowerGIG‐OACSwitchisaLayer2managedswitchwith(4)10/100/1000BASE‐TPoE++(IEEE
802.3bt)portsand(1)combination10/100/1000BASE‐TRJ45or100/1000BASE‐XSFPuplinkport(additional
optionalportavailable),thatisidealforuseinsecurityandsurveillance,PoElighting,digitalsignage,andmany
otherapplications.
TheswitchisequippedwithNearFieldCommunication(NFC)toallowsimpleandrepeatableswitch
configurationwithauser‐friendlyapponamobiledevicepriortoconnectingorpoweringuptheswitch.
TheswitchallowsBluetoothLowEnergy(BLE)remoteaccesstoalarminformationortoreadorchange
equipmentsettingswithoutrequiringphysicalaccessusinginconvenientladdersorscissorliftrental.Theswitch
alsohasintegratedmanagementsoftwareforsetup,monitoring,andcontrolofconnecteddevices.
ThePowerGIG‐MobileAppprovidesamobileinterfacethroughNFCandBLEconnections,whichallowsfor
switchconfiguration,performingremotediagnosis,andtroubleshootingfortheswitchfromasmartphoneor
tablet,withouthavingtoclimbaladderorscissorlifttoconnecttotheswitch.
TheintegratedNFCsavestimeandlaborexpensebyallowinglaborersofanyskillleveltoeasilyconfigurethe
switchpriortopoweringupandtorepeattheconfigurationacrossmultipleswitches.
TheintegratedBLEAntennaallowsremoteaccesstotheswitchfortroubleshootingandchangingsettings,
reducingtimeandhasslesrelatedtoconsolecablesandladdersorscissorlifts.

ofNearFieldCommunications(NFC)andBluetoothLowEnergy(BLE)thatareprovidedinthePowerGIG‐OAC
Self‐EnclosedPoE++Switch.
TheAppcanbeusedonamobilephoneortabletequippedwithanAndroid‐basedOperatingSystem,NFC
reader,andBLEcapability.ToaccessthePowerGIG‐MobileApp:

Theidealusecaseisfortheswitchtobepre‐configuredthroughNFC(viathePowerGIG‐MobileApp)priorto
installationorbootup.Theswitchistheninstalledinanout‐of‐reachlocation(e.g.highonapoleorwall).The
switchispoweredupandtheconfigurationissetintheswitch.Atthispoint,theNFCisnolongerusedfor
configurationchanges(i.e.nooneshouldhavetoclimbthepoletogetcloseenoughtomakechanges—andno
unauthorizedpersonshouldbeabletomakechangeseither).Allfuturechangescanbemaderemotelythrough
theWebUIoratthesite(fromtheground)throughBLEusingthePowerGIG‐MobileApp.

8. EntertheVlanPortNumber;defaultis1.
9. UncheckBLEenabledtodisableBLEaccess.

6. Selecttheappropriatefile;thenameofthefilewillbehighlightedwhenselectedandtheconfigdetailsare
displayedintherightsideboxonthescreen.
7. PresstheTAPANDGObutton.
8. HoldthesmartphoneortabletsotheNFCreaderisdirectlyovertheNFCtargetonthefrontcoverofthe
switch.
NOTE:Thedevicemustbewithinabout1.5in(4cm)oftheswitch.
9. Youwillheara“chime”andseeamessage“Configtransferredsuccessfully”whentheconfigurationhas
beentransferred.
Ifyouhearalowtoneandseeamessage“Failedtowrite,pleaserepositionyourdeviceandtryagain”,the
configurationhasnotbeentransferred.Re‐selectTAPANDGObuttonandrepositionthedevice,beingsure
toaligntheNFCreaderareaofthedevicedirectlyovertheNFCtargetontheswitchcover.
10. TheEXPORTbuttonallowsyoutoexporttheconfigfiletomakeeditsorchangesusingadifferentdevice.
NOTE:Thisisafutureenhancementandthereiscurrentlynocapabilitytoimportfiles.
11. Youmaydeleteafileaftertheconfigfilehasbeensuccessfullytransferredorisnolongerneeded.Ensure
thefilenameishighlightedandpressDELETEFILE.

thecorrectswitch.ThiscanbefoundviatheWebUIatthefollowingthepathSwitch>Security>Management

NOTE:YoumustusethePowerGIG‐MobileAppforBluetoothpairing;donotusetheAndroidBluetoothpairing
function.
NOTE:ThePowerGIG‐MobileAppwillnotallowyoutodisableBLEwhenthedeviceispaired.
