Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the NT-P500 Skype phone.
This user guide describes the steps for installing and setting up
your new Skype Phone.
NT-P500 is the best USB phone for making Internet phone call
with Skype, the best well-known free Internet phone service
(VoIP) provider. NT-P500 implement with the latest echo
cancellation and noise reduction technology in a single chip, and
gives it an ultra crystal clear audio sound quality. Besides, It
combines the most advanced features in one single handset.
Large backlight dot matrix LCD lets you review the call list and
Skype contacts with online status. If a contact is online, you can
simply scroll to the contact and make a Skype call. It also
displays the caller ID information when receiving a Skype call.
With its blue backlight LCD feature, you can see clearly at
nighttime. Thoughtful key arrangement makes it easy to use like
mobile phone. Compact and portable design makes it an
ultimate travel companion on your next trip.

1.1 Summary
Plug into your computer’s USB port, you can make and receive
Skype’s calls. Phone rings for all incoming calls, dial Skype
contacts and SkypeOut numbers from the phone. With
Dot-matrix LCD, earphone socket, keypad and ringer, it is easy
to use it just as mobile phone.

Contacts
1. Press to display the contacts. Then press up and
down to scroll the contacts.
2. Press to back to ready state.
3. Press to call out the friend displayed on LCD.
4. The contacts are sort by name.
Call List
1. Press to display the contacts. Then press up and
down to scroll the contacts.
2. Press to back to ready state.
3. Press to call out the friend displayed on LCD.
4. The contacts are sort by name.
/Up /Down
1. Press to scroll the contacts while viewing
contacts.
2. Press to scroll the call list at ready state or viewing
call list.
3. Press to adjust volume while talking.
Dial/Answer
1. Call out or answer a call
2. Press to hold/un-hold the call while talking.

Hang Up
1. End talking or refuse incoming call.
2. Press the key to back to previous menu
Ring Tone
1. Press to display current ringer style
2. Press up and down to select the other one

Delete wrong input number.

1. Press to input digital numbers.
2. Press to send DTMF message while talking.
Help
1. Press to display the selected contact information
while viewing contacts. Press to call out the
contact or open the homepage. Press to
return to farther menu.
2. Press to display all records of selected contact
while viewing call list. Press it again to display the
selected contact’s information. Press to call
out the contact or open the homepage. Press
to return to previous menu.
3. When you talk to more then one contact, press the
key to switch the calls.

3. Using the Phone
3.1 Running Skype
Skip this step if you are already a Skype user and have
Skype installed in your PC.
Note:
Skype version must be 1.0.0.106 or higher
1. Download and install Skype (www.skype.com).
2. Run Skype and log in your Skype account.
3. You can create a Skype account as shown below:
4. After software startup, the icon will appear to the system
tray as shown below:

That indicates the Skype are successfully connected to
Internet. If the icon is shown as , you have to check your
Internet connection.
3.2 Connect NT-P500 to PC
1. Connect NT-P500 to your PC’s USB port.
2. The LCD screen will show an image as below
3.3 Running SkyMagic
1. Insert the installation CD and install the SkyMagic
software driver.
2. After complete installation, an icon will be created on
the desktop.
3. Double-click the icon on the desktop. Skype program
will pop up a window as shown below:
Select the first option “Allow this program to use Skype”, and
click “OK” button.

Note:
If you selected the wrong option, you can make
another selection. Please refer to FAQ question 2 for
details
After running SkyMagic, an icon will appear to the system
tray as shown
That indicates the device and Skype are connected
successfully.
If the icon is shown as , (the phone is green and the
outside is gray), please run Skype first.
If the icon is shown as , (the phone is red and the outside is
green), it means NT-P500 connected incorrectly. Please
reconnect it to PC.
3.4 Making a Call
3.4.1 Call Skype user from Contacts
1. Press to display contacts.
2. Press up and down to select a contact.
3. Press to call out.
3.4.2 Call Skype user from Call list
1. Press to display call list.
2. Press up and down to select a contact.
3. Press to call out.
3.4.3 Call Skype user by Speed Dial
1. Add “Nexotek” to Contacts.

2. Assign Speed Dial for it. For example “11”.
3. Input digit “11” on phone keypad, then press to
call out
3.4.4 Call to Regular Phone
Press "00" + "country number "+" phone number", then press
. Example:
Call someone in Berlin, Germany. Please press
00493012345678, and then press
49 30 12345678
Country code City code Phone number
Note:
You can input “+” instead of “00”.
If you want to use this function, you must buy
SkypeOut Credit from www.skype.com first.
3.4.5Answer a Call
When a call comes in, NT-P500 will ring. Press to
answer the call, or press to refuse it.

Q1 The voice is played from the PC’s sound card instead of
the NT-P500 when I make/answer a call?
Execute “Tools->Options->Sound Devices” to open the window
as below:
Set “Audio In” and “Audio Out” to “USB Audio Device”.
Q2 Skype has been started, but the icon of SkyMagic still
shown as (the phone is green and the outside is
gray)?
Maybe you have selected the wrong option, you can execute
“Tools-> Options-> Privacy-> Manage other programs’ access
to Skype”, and then choose the needed option, click “Change”
button to open the “Manage API Access Control” windows, and
make another selection.

Q3 There is no voice comes out when play music?
Please execute the “Control Panel->Sound and Video ( )
->Audio”, set Sound Playback and Sound Recording’s
preference device to your sound card. It shown as below:
