INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Carefully unpack EMB250 from packaging. Inspect prodcut for

defects due to shipping.

Turn o power to appropriate circuit at the breaker box.

Turn on power to appropriate circuit at the breaker box.

(Time to full charge: 48 hours)

5Check the functionality of the emergency system by

pressing the test button.

The NICOR EMB250-10-UNV should be mounted on or

nearby the xture above the ceiling. The ex conduit

marked ‘A’ should be wired into the driven lamp

compartment or to an electrical junction box on the

xture which allows access to the xture connections.

Under no circumstances should the battery pack exceed

a distance of 50’ from the lamp.

Connect wiring as shown.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS, READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING/AVERTISSEMENT:

1. CAUTION- To prevent electrical shock, do not mate unit connector until installation is complete and AC power is supplied to

the unit.

2. CAUTION-This xture provides more than one power supply output source. To reduce the risk of electrical shock,

disconnect both normal and emergency sources by turning o the AC branch circuit and by disconnecting the unit connector.

3. CAUTION-This is a sealed unit. Components are not replaceable. Replace the entire unit when necessary.

4. CAUTION-Installation and servicing should be performed by qualied personnel only De-energize before opening.

5. DO NOT USE OUTDOORS. The EMB250-10-UNV is for use with grounded, UL Listed, damp location rated, indoor xtures.

Not for use in heated air outlets or hazardous locations.

6. The EMB250-10-UNV requires an unswitched AC power source of 120-277 volts. Properly cap the unused AC lead.

7. The EMB250-10-UNV and xture must be on the same branch circuit.

8. Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.

9. The EMB250-10-UNV should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by

unauthorized personnel.

10. The EMB250-10-UNV will supply 56VDC output at the individual rated specication for 90 minutes.

11. Suitable for use in damp locations.

12. For use in 0°C minimum, 50°C maximum ambient temperatures.

13. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.

14. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.

15. Install in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local regulations.

16. Lighting xture manufacturers, Electricians and end-users need to ensure product system compatibility before nal

installation.

17. CAUTION: Battery is rechargeable LiFePO4 type and must be recycled or disposed of properly.

18. The xture driver should be enclosed and the EMB250 case should be connected to ground.

19. CAUTION: Risk of electric shock, output voltage more than 42.4Vdc.

EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY

Subject to the exclusions contained below, NICOR Inc. (NICOR) warrants that all NICOR LED branded Solid State Lighting products made by NICOR to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, under normal consumer usage

for a period of 3 years from date of purchase. This limited warranty is a consumer’s exclusive remedy, and applies only to new products purchased and used by consumers in the United States or Canada, which are accompanied by

this written warranty.

This limited warranty extends only to the rst consumer purchaser, and is not transferable. A consumer wishing to invoke the terms of this warranty must rst obtain a RGA number within 30 days of discovery of the defect, and

return the product to NICOR for inspection. Once veried to be covered by this limited warranty, NICOR will, at its discretion, repair, replace or refund the purchase price of any product that does not conform to this limited warranty.

This limited warranty covers only defects in material and workmanship associated with normal installation and intended use of the product.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING:

• Defects or damages resulting from improper operation, storage, misuse or abuse, accident or neglect;

• Defects or damages resulting from improper service, testing, adjustment, installation, maintenance, alteration, connection to out-of-specication electrical service, corrosive or damp environments, or connection to incompatible

equipment or devices (e.g., connecting non-dimmable lighting products to dimmers);

• Damage which occurs in transit; and

• Labor or other charges or expenses associated with the removal, repair, or re-installation of defective or replacement products.

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY,

OTHERWISE THE REPAIR, REPLACEMENT OR REFUND AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY OF THE CONSUMER, AND IS PROVIDED IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR

IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL NICOR BE LIABLE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT OR IN TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT, OR FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, OR LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OR OTHER FINANCIAL LOSS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE ABILITY OR INABLILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT TO THE FULL

EXTENT THESE DAMAGES MAY BE DISCLAIMED BY LAW.

output current until the light dims down

(when the light dims down, emergency

driver is in protected mode and its

output current is 100mA). Then back o

No. 1 by 100mA.

Example: If No. 1 is set to 3 and No. 2 is

set to 5 for max light output. Turn No. 1

to 2 and achieve proper settings.

Operation

Normal Mode: Line Voltage power is present to the xture and the xture is operating as intended. The EMB250-10-UNV is in the standby charging mode. The Charge

Indicator will be lit providing a visual indication

Emergency Mode: The Line Voltage power fails. The EMB250-10-UNV senses the power failure and automatically switches to Emergency Mode. The xture will be

illuminated at a reduced intensity for a minimum of 90 minutes. When the AC power is restored, the EMB250-10-UNV switches the system back to the Normal Mode and
