※Before Disassembly / Reassembly / Adjustment
Caution:
①In desassembly/(re)assembly, be sure to use conductive mat (J5033) and wrist strap (J5033-5), in order
to protect electric parts from static electricity.
②When disassembling, make sure to memorize the processing state of wires, screws to be xed and their
types, etc.
③Because prototypes are used for "Disassembly/(Re)assembly/Adjustment", they may differ from the
actual products in forms, etc.
④Because pictures are processed by a special method, they may differ from the actual ones in texture.
・Lead-free solder is used for this product.
・For soldering work, the special solder and soldering iron are required.
・Do NOT mix up lead-free solder with traditional solder.
・Use the special soldering iron respectively for lead-free solder and lead solder.
They cannot be used in common.
Points to notice for Lead-free solder products
Whenever the 2nd lens-group unit of this lens is removed, replace it with the new
2nd lens-G holding tube of RP. After reassembly, the optical lens-alignment work
becomes necessary.
At service facilities where such work cannot be carried out, do NOT remove the
2nd lens-group unit.
On this lens, the VR (vibration-reduction) unit (inside the 3rd lens-group unit) is mounted to correct the
picture blur.
In order to maintain the functional accuracy of the picture blur correction, if detaching the VR (vibration-
reduction) unit (inside the 3rd lens-group unit) and gyro-FPC or if removing the main base plate unit, be sure
to adjust the VR by using the VR lens adjustment equipment (J15380).
However, if disassembling the parts except the above, the VR adjustment is NOT necessary.
At service agencies where the "VR lens adjustment equipment" is not prepared, do NEITHER disassemble
NOR repair the products of the above case.

② Set the focus ring to "∞", and the zoom ring to TELE "300", then insert the two innity pins ( ★J11339) to
the two holes.

①Remove the hole cover sheet.

Caution:
When the hole cover sheet is removed,
be careful NOT to damage the lens.

③Insert the two pin-parts of G2-G3 unit assembling tool ( ★J11337) into the two holes of G2-G3 unit. Then
rotate and remove G2-G3 unit.
④Remove the tool pins that were set in ②.
⑤Remove the washer (#62 : selected from A ～H).
⑥Peel off the sheet (#133) from the 2nd lens group.
⑦Take out three screws (#110), and remove the 2nd lens group.

Caution 1:
Whenever the 2nd lens group is removed, optical
alignment work becomes necessary after reassembling.
Therefore, at service facilities where this work cannot
be performed, do NOT remove the 2nd lens group.
Caution 2:
Whenever the 2nd lens group is removed, replace it
with the new 2nd lens-G holding tube (refer to page
D20) which is prepared as RP.

Zoom coupling lever
①Peel off the two cover sheets (#126).
② Take out four screws (#125), and remove the two zoom coupling levers (#65).

③ Remove the zoom ring from the zoom
cover ring.
② Peel off the three pieces of the xing
tape (#111).

① Rotate the zoom ring until its "300"-mark is positioned approx. 1-cm away from the zoom index. Then
remove the zoom ring from the lens body.

・Take out two screws (#90), and remove the contact unit.
