12 VAC GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be groun e . If it shoul electrically malfunction, groun ing provi es a path of least resistance for electric current to re uce the risk of
electric shock. This appliance is equippe with a cor having an equipment-groun ing con uctor an groun ing plug. The plug must be plugge into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installe an groun e in accor ance with all local co es an or inances.
DANGER!
Improper connection of the equipment-groun ing con uctor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualifie electrician
or service person if you are in oubt as to whether the outlet is properly groun e . Do not mo ify the plug provi e with the
appliance. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installe by a qualifie electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, an has a groun ing plug that looks like the plug illustrate in Figure 1 below. A temporary a apter
illustrate in Figures 2 an 3 may be use to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in Figure 2 if a properly groun e outlet is not available. The
temporary a apter shoul be use only until a properly groun e outlet (Figure 1) can be installe by a qualifie electrician. The green-colore rigi ear, tab,
or the like exten ing from the a apter must be connecte to a permanent groun such as a properly groun e outlet box cover. Whenever the a apter is use ,
it must be hel in place by a metal screw. Groun ing a apters are not approve for use in Cana a.
Replace the plug if the groun ing pin is amage or broken.
The Green (or Green/Yellow) wire in the cor is the groun ing wire. When replacing a plug, this wire must be attache to the groun ing pin only.
Extension cor s connecte to this machine shoul be 12 gauge, three-wire cor s with three-prong plugs an outlets. DO NOT use extension cor s more than
50 feet (15 m) long.

Si el con uctor a tierra no está instala o correctamente pue en pro ucirse riegos e choques eléctricos. En caso e u a,
consulte con un electricista o personal e servicio autoriza os. No mo ifique el cor ón provisto con el aparato. Si no calza en
el receptáculo, llame a un electricista califica o para que coloque un receptáculo a ecua o.
Este aparato se usa con un circuito e 120-voltios nominales, y tiene un enchufe con toma a tierra tal como se muestra en la figura 1, a continuación. Se
pue e usar un a apta or provisorio tal como se ve en las figuras 2 y 3 en caso e isponerse e un receptáculo sin toma a tierra como en la figura 2. Dicho

ENGLISH PREPARING THE FLOOR
Before each use of this machine, the floor must be clean an completely ry.
Clean the floor with an automatic floor scrubber or a amp mop, using a
solution of water an neutral cleaner.
CAUTION!
This machine shoul be use only on floors that are coate with
a floor finish suitable for burnishing. Contact your local Nilfisk-
A vance Distributor for further information on floor finishing
pro ucts.
PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR USE
WARNING!
Moving parts - To re uce the risk of injury, unplug before
servicing.
A - INSTALLING THE PAD
To install a pa , tip the machine back on it’s han le. Remove the Pa Retainer
“A” (in the center of the pa hol er) by turning clockwise to loosen. Put the
proper size Pa “B” on the Pa Hol er Hub “C”. Re-install the Pa Retainer
“A” by turning counter-clockwise to tighten.

OPERATION
1Unwrap the Power Cor (5) an plug it in to an outlet.
2Unlatch the Operator Han le (6) by pushing forwar on the Han le
Release Latch (4) with your foot. Continue to hol latch (4) while pulling
the han le (6) back. It is normal for the base of the machine to lift off
of the floor slightly when the han le is lowere . It will pull itself own
against the floor as soon as the motor is starte .
3Hol one of the Operator Han Grips (1) firmly, push the Safety Lock
Button (2) an then compress the Switch Levers (3) to start the motor.
NOTE: The Safety Lock Button (2) will not epress unless the
Operator Han le (6) has been release an tilte back into the
operating position. When the ual controlle Switch Levers (3) are
release , the machine shuts off imme iately.
4Push the machine forwar in a straight line, at a slow walking spee .
Overlap each pass about 1-3 inches (25-75 mm).
5When using a polishing pa , check every 15 minutes to see if the pa
is loa e up with wax an irt. If it is, turn the pa over to expose the
clean si e, or install a clean pa .

Repairs, when require , shoul be performe by Nilfisk-A vance service
personnel using Nilfisk-A vance original replacement parts an accessories.
Call Nilfisk-A vance for repair parts or service. Please specify the Mo el an
Serial Number when iscussing your machine.
NAME PLATE
The Mo el an Serial Number of your machine are shown on the Nameplate
on the machine. This information is nee e when or ering repair parts for the
machine. Use the space below to note the Mo el an Serial Number of your
machine for future reference.

When the machine is elivere , carefully inspect the shipping carton an the
machine for amage. If amage is evi ent, save the shipping carton so that
it can be inspecte . Contact the Nilfisk-A vance Customer Service Depart-
ment imme iately to file a freight amage claim.

AFTER USE
1Lift the Operator Han le (6) until it locks in the upright position. NOTE:
The Safety Lock Button (2) will not epress unless the Operator
Han le (6) has been release an tilte back into the operating
position. This will prevent the motor from being engage while
Operator Han le (6) is in the storage position.
2Unplug the Power Cor (5) an wrap it aroun the Han le Release
Latch (4) an the right Operator Han le Grip (1).
3Check the skirt aroun the ust control housing. The skirt shoul be
replace if it is worn out or torn.
4Remove the pa from the machine. Clean the pa an hang it up to
ry. Allow buffing pa s to ry completely before using again.
5Wipe the entire machine with a clean, amp cloth.
6Inspect the entire machine an all accessories for amage. Perform
any require maintenance or repairs before storage.
7Store the machine in a clean, ry place with the Operator Han le (6)
locke in the upright position.
MAINTENANCE
C - AIR FILTER
The air filter “A” on top of the motor shoul be cleane at least once a week.
To clean the filter, sli e the motor cover “B” forwar an lift up an off. Pull
the filter off an wash with warm water an allow it to ry completely before
putting it back on the machine (or blow clean with compresse air).
D - DUST COLLECTION BAG
The ust collection bag shoul be remove an replace after about every 20
hours of use. Tip the machine back onto it’s han le (6), the same as you woul
if you were changing the pa . Squeeze in on the si es of the bag cover “A”
an remove it from the machine. Remove the ust bag “B” (being careful not
to spill any ebris) an iscar . Tip the machine back upright. Push in on the
si es of the new bag “B” to pop-it-open an install it by pushing it own (grip
the car boar base of the bag) onto the (2) tubes protru ing from the base.
Re-install the cover “A”.
MOTOR BRUSHES
This machine is equippe with a motor brush wear in icator light. If this light
comes on uring use, contact your local Nilfisk-A vance istributor to have
the motor service .
NOTE: If the supply cor is amage , it must be replace by the manufacturer
or its service agent or a similarly qualifie person in or er to avoi a hazar .
CAUTION!
The motor can be severely amage if the machine is use for
an exten e perio of time with the light glowing.
TROUBLESHOOTING
SWIRL MARKS
• Floor not clean.
• Area not properly swept - ebris in pa or brush.
• Improper pa for the job.
• Moving the machine too fast.
CIRCLES ON THE FLOOR
• Machine stan ing still while the pa is running.
FLOOR FINISH REMOVED
• Improper pa ...too aggressive.
• Moving the machine too slowly.
MACHINE WOBBLES DURING OPERATION
• Defective pa ... one si e is more ense than the other.
• Machine left sitting on pa for exten e perio of time causing pa to
“take a set”.
• Pa not “seate ” properly into pa hol er bristles.
• Pa hol er out of balance - replace.
MACHINE DOES NOT RUN
• Check plug for proper connection - on machine an at wall outlet.
• Check buil ing circuit breaker.
• Call for service.
