INTRODUCTION
System Summary
SIM992 is a precision instrument designed for generating the reply echo
pulse for all types of depth sounders and fish finders. There are two modes:
Bottom Mode (BT) and Fish Mode (FI). BT is default mode.
Theory of Operation
SIM992 receives pulse parameters from depth sounder / fish finder and
generates echo pulse to simulate the bottom or fish information and then
sends the information back to depth sounder or fish finder.

OPERATION
System Connection
NOTE System supply is DC24V（AC110/220V connect with adapter）. Please
use suitable power supply.
The input / output interfaces are both on the front and rear panel.
You can connect the input / output / ground interfaces with the transducer
3-core wires on operation panel respectively, and the transducer shield shall
be connected with the ground interface.
Also you can connect the input / output socket with the transducer 3-core
plug on the rear panel.
Rear Panel Operation
POWER ON/OFF
The POWER switch turns the SIM992 on and completely resets the
instrument all default modes and settings.
LOAD IMPEDANCE
There is low, medium or high load impedance to be selected.
Low load impedance is normally used with larger video and recording depth
sounder or fish finder.
Medium load impedance is used with most medium size depth sounder or
fish finder such as digital types with depth ranges up to 1000 feet.
High load impedance is used with small flashers and shallow water graphical
depth sounder or fish finder.

REPLY LEVEL
The REPLY LEVEL switch varies the replay level from 0.01mV to 50mV. The
AMPL VERNIER must be rotated to the maximum counter clockwise position
(CAL 1X position) for accuracy as indicated.
AMPL VERNIER
The AMPL VERNIER multiplies the setting value of the REPLY LEVEL switch.
If the REPLY LEVEL is set to 2mV and the AMPL VERNIER is set to 1.5, the
actual reply level is 3mV. Actual reply level = AMPL VERNIER × REPLY LEVEL
BOTTOM KEY
Press the BOTTOM key down and the bottom mode will appear, as indicated
by “BT” on the LCD screen. When the SIM992 is in the bottom mode, the
bottom echo frequency, echo width and echo depth can be set by depressing
the BOTTOM key repeatedly. Then the cursor can be moved left or right by
depressing ←/→key in current cursor range and the values can be increased
or reduced by depressing ＋/－key repeatedly.
Echo frequency range: 0~599.9 kHz, Echo width: 0~3999 x 10 us,
Echo depth: 0~999.99 m
FISH KEY
Press the FISH key down and the fish mode will appear, as indicated by “FI”
on the LCD screen. When the SIM992 is in the fish mode, the fish echo
frequency, echo width and echo depth can be set by depressing the FISH key
repeatedly. Then the cursor can be moved left or right by depressing ←/→
key in current cursor range and the values can be increased or reduced by
depressing ＋/－key repeatedly.
Fish echo frequency: 00:00~99:99
(E.g. 40:08 means that 8 times fish reply pulse will appear in 40 times transmitting steps)
Fish echo width: 0~3999 x 10 us (less than the value set in BT mode)
Fish echo depth: 0~999.99m (less than the value set in BT mode)

Increase or reduce the values at current cursor.
