Important
The radioreceiverisdesignedfor usewith 220-
230 V AC 50 Hz mainsonly.
Neveropenthe receiver.If it malfunctions,take
it to a qualified service technician.
The onloff switch does not isolate the receiver
fromthe mainswhenoff. Unplugthe receiverifit
isto remain unused for a long period.
Do not expose the receiverto rain or moisture.

The receivercan bepoweredfrom the mains (220-230V
AC 50 Hz) or from five 1.5 V R20 batteries (preferably
alkaline), housedin the batterycompartmentat the back
of the receiver. The ONISTANDBYswitch should beset
to STANDBY when batteries are being installed.
When changing the batteries, try to do so within a two-
minute period, otherwisethe preset stationswill be lost.
If the receiver is notto beusedfor a longperiod,remove
the batteries. This will ensure that the receiver is not
damaged by battery leakage.
The receiver comes with the mains lead packed in the
batterycompartment.Tousethemainslead,connectitto
the socket (18). The batteries are automatically
disconnectedwhen the mains lead is connected.

MODE function switch. The display shows station
frequency (when the receiver is on), clock or alarm
time.
When the receiver is off (STANDBY) the display shows
the clock time or the alarm time. When the receiver is
switched on, the display shows wavelength and station
frequency (for the station being received when the set
was switched off).

Press MODE once or twice if you want to see the clock
time or the alarm time when the receiver is on.
Hold down SNOOZEILIGHTto illuminatethe display.

1. Set the ONISTANDBY switch to ON.
2. Select wavelengthwith the BAND switch.
3. Select the desiredstationwith the TUNING buttons.
4. Set the VOLUME and TONE controls as to suit your
preference.
Aerial
For FM reception,pulloutthetelescopicaerial, andadjust
its direction and lengthfor optimum reception.
The receiver has an internal aerial for
LW and MW
reception.Turntheentirereceiverfor optimumreception.
Automatic station search
1. Hold down one of the TUNING buttons for about 5
seconds. The receiver starts to search for a station,
and stops when it finds the first station with a strong
enough signal.
2. If necessary,repeatuntilthe requiredstationisfound.
To stop a station search in progress, press one of the
TUNING keys.

Storing preset stations Snooze
Twentystationscan bepreset,five eachon LWand MW,
and (usingthe FM SHIFT function) ten on the FM band.
1. Findthe desired station.
2. Press MEMOJTIME SET and the display shows
MEMORY.
3. Pressthe AMJFM PRESETSbutton under which you
want to store the station. To store an FM station on
presets 6-10, press FM SHIFT first.

1 . PresstheMODEbuttonuntilthedisplayshowsCLOCK.
2. Hold down the MEMOJTIMESET button.
3. WhileholdingdownMEMOJTIMESET,setthedesired
"hours"by pressing the left-handTUNING button.
4. While still holding down MEMOJTIME SET, set the
desired"minutes"bypressingthe right-handTUNING
button. Release MEMOJTIMESET.
If you want to display the alarm time or the station
frequency when the radio is on, press MODE.
Setting the alarm (timer) I
1. Press the MODE button until the display shows ON
TIME.
2. Hold down the MEMOJTIMESET button.
3. WhileholdingdownMEMOJTIMESET,setthedesired
"hours"by pressing the left-hand TUNING button.
4. While still holding down MEMOKIME SET, set the
desired"minutes"bypressingthe right-handTUNING
button. Release MEMOJTIMESET.
If you want to display the clock or the station frequency
when the radio is on, press MODE.
Sleep timer
1. Set the ONISTANDBY switch to STANDBY.
2. PresstheSLEEPbutton.Thereceivercomeson.After
90minutes,the receiverswitches off automatically.To
select a time other than 90 minutes, hold down the
SLEEP button until the required time is displayed
(intervalsof ten minutes).
To switchoffthereceivermanuallybeforethe"sleep"time
iasexpired, press the SLEEP button.
The sleeptimerdoesnotaffecttheoperationor settingof
:he alarm function.
Wake-up alarm 1
1. Set the desired wake-up time.
2. Selectthe requiredstationandadjustthevolumeto an
appropriate level.
Whenthe receiverhasbeenswitchedon bythewake-up
alarm function, press SNOOZE. The wake-up alarm
function is then suspendedfor about nine minutes.
IftheSNOOZEfunctionisnotused,thereceiverswitches
off automaticallyafter about two hours.
