1 Overview
TheADS system is an integrated hardware device. This chapter gives a brief account of ADS
devices.
1.1 Appearance
This section details the appearance, including front and rear panels, of ADS devices.
The interface model or quantity of actual products may slightly vary with the batch or
model.

1.2 Power Supply
ADS devices support both AC and DC inputs. Before delivery, ADS devices are
configured with power modules. You can choose to use the AC or DC power module based on
the equipment room environment. If necessary, connect the ADS device to two independent
power supplies to implement 1+1 power redundancy. In this case, even if one of the power
modules fails, the ADS device still operates properly. The power switch and socket reside at
the rear of the chassis, as shown in Figure 1-6.
Specifications of the AC Power Supply
For ADS NX3-2020/2020E/2010, ADS NX5-4020/4020E, ADS NX5-6025/6025E, and ADS
NX5-8000, the AC power supply specifications are as follows:
Rated voltage range: 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz
Maximum output power: 450 W
For ADS NX3-HD2500 and NX5-HD4500/HD6500, the AC power supply specifications are
as follows:
Rated voltage range: 100–240 VAC at 47–63 Hz

Maximum output power: 300 W
For ADS NX5-10000, the AC power supply specifications are as follows:
Rated voltage range: 85–264 VAC at 50–60 Hz
Maximum output power:
−866 W in case one service board is configured
−1569 W in case two service boards are configured
−4381 W in case six (maximum allowed) service boards are configured
For ADS NX5-10000, the recommended power supply configuration varies with the number
of service boards, as shown in Table 1-1.

LED Status
Meaning
AC On (yellow)
The AC LED being on after the power supply is connected indicates that the power
input is normal.
AC Off
The AC LED being off although the power supply is connected indicates that the
power is off, overloaded, or fails.
OK On (yellow)
The OK LED being on after the device is started indicates that the power output is
normal.
OK Off
The OK LED being off although the device is started indicates that the power is
overloaded or fails.
The OK indicator is available for the AC power supply on ADS NX3-
